Is this your first time flashing custom roms... It's pretty common knowledge to flash gapps after every ROM update.
Yes, I'm new to it and trying to learn. I've been reading as much as I can, but not all "common knowledge" is especially well documented. It's hard for someone new to get up to speed with all the unwritten rules that all the more experienced guys already know and take for granted. And it's helpful to know the reasons for things as well. I appreciate the replies from those who are willing to help and explain things.

No, because the updated versions will get placed to /data. So the apps in /system will stay always the ones you flashed anytime in the past. Only thing what you can do is updating the used gapps zip sometimes to save space on /data

That makes sense, thanks for explaining. Where can I find updated gapps zips? I've searched around and the only place I could really find is the link in the OP of this thread, but that one is from December. (the newer one from 5.1.x caused huge problems when I tried flashing it, which is why I'm using the older December one.) Thanks again.

Concerning having to flash gapps on every update: I know it's inconvenient; I have to reflash gapps as well every time I test a new LTE build, and it's the only device I have to reflash gapps for. If I knew how to change that, I would for the LTE builds; however, I'm not doing any Android coding or maintenance, just building for the LTE target.

That said, I've just finished a new LTE build. It's up on my Google Drive.

Wow, this is the slimmest Gapps ever. Wish I had came across this earlier. I'll have to see what else is available in that corner of the forums... Thanks for the link, and for the welcome!

Anybody else experiencing random crash? Mine will crash and reboot once a day. Any solution to this, or is it normal because these are night lies. Thanks

I am using a backup script for GApps. Initially I flashed these GApps. Then I took the backup script from CM GApps, modified it to work with flounder GApps. If you like to, give it a try. Just unzip the script, put it to system/addon.d and set permissions to 755.

Was there ever a determination on what causes Netflix to constantly stutter when beginning a new episode or seeking within one? I can't believe the issue hasn't drawn more attention.

Sorry. I think there was a problem with the Google Drive sync. I'm redoing it now. Check again soon.
Downloading it now. Going to flash it and let you know how she handles. PS, you've really gotta get your own thread up and running. If you want a hand making some graphics specific to your builds, I can help you out.

Stuck at boot

So i just flash from stock, I flashed the cm12 kernel and the Gapps but when I reboot to start the system it just sits at the boot animation. Using TWRP recovery. Anyone have any ideas?

Why does the AudioFX keep crashing? Its been crashing in all the nightlys since CM12 been released. Its also crashes in all the lolipop 5.x custom roms for the nexus 9. i have the nexus 9 wifi only. is certain drivers or libraries missing in all custom roms that cause that. i tried different equlizers from google play but all of those crash also. i send in bug report everytime it crashes but i dont know if the devs are doing anything. im back on stock now but like to retry cm12 after AudioFX is fixed. somebody help me resolve my problem please.

Is it normal that I have to reroot everytime I install the latest nightly?
I use cyandelta for the update and after an update I don't have root rights. I need to root the device then again with WUG's Nexus toolkit.
