Omnirom modded for Galaxy Ace


Omnirom is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KK), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Omnirom is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts.

Ace releases aren’t working on S5830C, S5830I and S5830M version of Ace!

This modded Omnirom

• contains additional google libs, permissions and framework files.
• Some apps removed like Apollo.apk, (needed the space on system and there are some better apps on market)
• (2014-03-17) added some tweaks
• (2014-03-17) integrated MA6 Kernel
• (2014-03-17) integrated Google PlayStore to v4.6.17
• (2014-03-17) activated statusbar transparency
• (2014-03-17) integrated AGPS-fix V5
• (2014-03-17) added some missing permissions xml files (this fixes outgoing voip/sip calls)
• (2014-03-24) updated MA6 Kernel
• (2014-03-24) fixed keyboard emojis
• (2014-03-24) added facebook contacts-sync ability
• (2014-03-24) integrated patched services.jar (thx to ullasmanju)
• (2014-08-13) updated PlayStore to v 4.9.13
• (2014-08-13) updated the integrated MA6 Kernel

Installation:

• Boot into CWM Recovery 6.0.4.x or TWRP 2.7.x
• Wipe data/factory reset
• Format /System
• Install zip from SD card / choose ROM zip from SD card
• Install zip from SD card / choose HOTFIX zip from SD card (this step is only needed if there is a hotfix)
• After installation reboot system now
• 1st Boot take about 3 - 5 minutes (caches are generated in this time

Dont wipe data after flashing the rom / it will break PlayStore!

Dont flash any gapps packages!
Install needed google apps from PlayStore!

OTA-Infos
No OTA support in this early stage

• How to enable Developer Settings? Go to Systemsettings --> about phone --> tap 7 times on Build Number
• How to enable extended Power Menu? Go to Systemsettings --> Developer options --> Advanced reboot
• How to enable Screenshot function? Go to Systemsettings --> Menus--> Tick Screenshot
• No Notification Sound in app XYZ --> Go to Systemsettings --> Profiles --> App Groups --> hit + -->create new App Group XYZ --> click + in that App Group and add App XYZ --> Go back to profiles and hit Settings symbol --> Now ad the app group XYZ to your active profile and enable notifications for the new App Group XYZ
• How to add more "alarms","ringtones","notifications" Sounds? Just copy the needed file to the right folder on SD-Card

Great rom available on S5830 !
I have try this one , and everything goes well except camera ..
Btw , before install omnirom my gps working so well and lock location so fast but after install omnirom and i go back to experimental cm 11 modded why my ace still can't for lock the location sir ?
I have try for your gps fix V5 on your thread , but it still same .. My gps can't LOCK the location ..

Btw did you format system before flashing back to cm11?

yes i do , before installing modded nightly CM11 i have formating system ...
and untill now my gps still can't lock the location , what the problem ?

Working on an update.

• Got facebook contacts sync now working on omnirom.
• Keyboard Emojis fixed
• Also new MA6 kernel with frandom will be included.
