Really needed to have same security patch before installing this rom?
I have s20 FE 5G snapdragon and my patch is now at april patch (yeah I did checked for updates but no new firmware yet), meanwhile this custom rom is on may patch. Should I wait for the patch and only then install, or could I just install right away? Many thanks
Edit: I have managed to install the rom successfully, altough i had few issues but managed to recover from them. Are OTA updates available? many thanks!

I appreciate that you made an custom rom, for the s20 fe series. As I scanned my device with stock firmware, I was shocked with 580 apps. The half of it was only the non-deletable, bloated, Samsung apps. As I looked the statistics of the storage, I saw that the system takes 30GB and the apps 50GB. I will flash your addon, to optimize my phone. I used this phone only for 7 months and it's already struggling and overheating

the honest answer is we don't know what will happen. I built the May update while running March. it was awful and I had to stop using it. on April it shouldn't have the same extent of problems but I can't say either way how it will be. only reason not to try it out is your time.

Yeah I tried it, unfortunately not as what I expected, battery drained faster and charging was ****ed up, so I hurried to restore to stock ROM and my device works like a charm again. I believe ROMs should be developed enough before posting them, I mean S20 fe is about to be out of support soon and no better ROMs do exist, which is kinda sad considering android 13 is it's maxed version and yet no 1 good ROM exists for it. Maybe some ROMs can be ported from its 2022 edition but idrk about that. Sorry for trashtalking about your ROM earlier too, I just felt pretty disappointed. But still I glad I managed to restore 95% of the phone features working again (including OTA updates, play certificate, banking apps too, but except abit of knox apps which I dont really care about and can be easily altered.)

I also have the S20 FE 5G Snapdragon variant and have no issues with the ROM. Your issues with banking apps are related to not using the proper Magisk modules. Admittedly, the SafetynetFix they bundle with the ROM Magisk package is outdated. They should be using Universal Safetynet Fix by Displax.

Didn't have issues with the battery or charging as well with the stock kernel.

Interesting, I came from may patch yet had those problems.
would probably check again for custom ROMs after official one ui 6 or android 14 build is out

Can i flash this on 4g snapdragon model? also, can i use it without root, or would my banking and transportation apps stop working like it does in some other roms? Sorry i don't know the exact term for this i know they didn't work on lineageos on my older phone but worked fine on arrowos for ex.

there is a snap 4G version. currently flashing this rom also roots the phone during the install process. however inside of the zip is a boot.img file that twrp can flash to the boot partition which will remove root.
if you extract the boot.img on your PC and push it to the phone while still in twrp you can remove root before the first bootup.

it depends on the banking app etc and how they go to try and detect root.

Thanks for the info. I started installation with odin and followed all steps prior, but when i try to flash the vbmeta disabled tar file it fails. I can't seem to find a solution anywhere. How can i fix this problem, or what might be the cause of it? all help is appreciated.

Edit: Figured it out and fixed it. proceeding to installing the rom. Thanks again for the hard work of everyone involved.

Over 1 week of usage on the latest May Patch and I just have a few thoughts @3mel .

• The advanced reboot/restart menu (i.e. boot to Recovery, Download mode) from ProjectX Android 12 has been missing
• The included Universal Safetynet Fix in the Magisk option is outdated. It's better to use Displax's Fork of the SafetyNetFix
• Most of the included build.prop tweaks are placebo and are just skipped over by the system. You can see in this XDA article how most of them don't do anything. If they aren't valid entries, it's equivalent to putting ro.makemyphoneveryfast = 1. It doesn't do anything.
• I don't recommend any other kernel other than stock. The custom kernels are battery hungry and have no noticeable increase in performance from my usage.

Other than that, the ROM has been working smoothly without issues. I decided against installing the included Magisk with the ROM since I don't see Lposed as necessary. If you want MagiskHide functionality, you can use Magisk Delta which still has MagiskHide.

Greetings, i started using the rom and everything is great so far. The phone heats up much more than normal tho, and seems to drain the battery quicker. Is there a way to fix this issue without a clean install? I am using the stock kernel and did not root my phone during install.

Always do a clean install to avoid issues. Before flashing the ROM ensure that you are on the latest Samsung FW (May or June). Also, use the latest TWRP.

You also don't need vbmeta when installing TWRP. Just flash the recovery file in ODIN.

I downloaded the latest OTA update before installing, and there was no more updates to install. Where can i find the necessary firmwares? I should try again with the correct firmware next time. I couldn't find any official sites from Samsung so is there a site you can recommend for firmwares?

Head to SamFW and type your device model. Use ODIN to flash the latest version of Android from Samsung. Install TWRP, then install this ROM.

I see your case as very difficult, enter twrp recovery mode and do all the steps without seeing,

the HDMI output is only detected once it enters the system, not before.

or am I wrong?

Im pretty sure hdmi output only works once the os started, didnt flashed a custom rom before so i dont know how much i have to interact with the screen or if i can do it with the volume keys (that way i could be able to memorize steps if there are not many )
