Hi everyone! I'm having a problem with Google messaging RCS (Chat features) in the stock Google Messages App. I think it could be related to this ROM because on Oxygen OS I never had this issue.

What happens is when I talk to a known Chat user in Google Messages it keeps forcing me to SMS mode several times throughout the day. When the Chat user sends me a message it shows that it was sent via "Chat" but when I then reply, it puts my reply to "SMS". Resetting network settings (,including pulling the SIM) and clearing the app cache does not solve the issue.

I've done lots of App troubleshooting but to no avail.

On OxygenOS13, I could use RCS features with anyone who used them on their end and it would never force me to SMS. Thanks to anyone who could advise!

i'm thinking of flashing another rom because the real problems (camera crashing/blurry/black screen, gifs/videos not loading in apps like reddit or twitter, bad bluetooth audio call quality...) don't seem to get fixed. Has anyone had that same experience with other roms? Is it a base problem ?
In regards to the gif/video issue, on the lineage posts describing this, someone suggested changing this setting in developer options to Disabled. Seems to have worked for me.

I had this problem as well!! Even after taking logs and searching multiple threads, I could not figure out what was causing it so I switched roms. I have flashed numerous roms since (Stag OS, CrDroid, Lineage OS, Watchdogs, Xtended, etc).
Nameless seems to be the only one with this issue...

Does anyone have an issue with charging on the latest version from 18th February? I mean when connecting the cable to charge the charging indication (sound, animation and screen powers on) repeats every 10-15 seconds for about two minutes and at the same time quick charging doesn`t work. Need to disconnect the cable a few times but again charging indication repeats after each connect.

@chandu dyavanapelli i think you've been a part of every rom i've used over the last 6 years! small world.
im coming from the oneplus 8t with havoc rom. it looks like you've stopped working on havoc, and switched to nameless? if i can expect a similar experience i'll order the 9 pro right now instead of the pixel 6 pro

Maybe someone can give me/semi noob a tip what I can do best now?
In short:
I get the orange state notification while booting and I don't have root anymore.

Long story:
About 3 months ago I bought my new phone and straight away installed the Nameless ROM and Magisk. This went quite well (needed to install the ROM twice. After the first the touch function wasn't available, after wiping and installing again it worked).
For some days I got a notification that there is an update avalable. So I installed the updated Nameless ROM three days ago.
- As instructed in the Magisk-thread, I first disabled all modules in Magisk.
- Then I selected the downloaded update file in the system update menu. I didn't restart the phone right away.
- I selected "install to inactive slot" in Magisk and then restarted.
- While this restart the orange state notification came up. Though everything seemed to be normal, still rooted.
- Then I probably made my slightly frustrated error. I selected "install to inactive slot" in Magisk again.
- Afterwards the error "Qualcomm crashdump mode" came up.
- Then I just tried to dirty flash the updated ROM-version again (Instruction "Install LineageOS on lemonadep").
- After that the phone started again with the orange state message, but without root.
- Then I tried to boot temporarily with root, but after "fastboot reboot" the "Qualcomm crashdump mode" came up again.
- Then I dirty flashed the updated ROM again.
And this is now my current status. - The phone starts with the orange state message and has no root.
What is the best thing I can do now? Would it work to wipe (I would of course prefer a solution without wipe) and flash the updated ROM? (Would this also require flashing the additional partition-files?)
I would be grateful for any help.
(I hope everything is understandable - used an online translater)

To my knowledge, root is not what causes orange state message. It's the unlocked bootloader, which is pretty much required if you're flashing custom roms. If you search in the nameless telegram group, you can find the abl.img. to flash in flashbootd. That will fix your orange state message

That helped. Thanks. No orange state notification.
Maybe I should post this in the Magisk thread, but since it was part of my previous post:
I can't root the device. When I try to temporarily boot with root (tried twice: with a self patched file and one from the Magisk thread), Windows CMD says okay/okay, and then the device reboots by itself (before I can enter fastboot reboot). And then I end up in Qualcomm crashdump mode again. But then I can just reboot the device and end up in the system. But without root. Without being able to select anything under Magisk other than patching a file.
Does anyone else have an idea for this?

That's the most correct way to do it, but you can also try sideloading magisk in recovery. Download the magisk APK, rename to zip file, then sideload.

Thank you very much! It worked. - No orange state notification anymore and back with root.
And I recognized that I already had Magisk as zip on my PC. I must have sideloaded Magisk while the first installation of the ROM too.

Back on Nameless after a while, fluid as always. However, I was unable to join a zoom meeting just now. I had to use my girlfriend's iphone 😮💨.
Any idea why that was the case? I was able to join last week using WatchDogs just fine. Solution?
Thank you dev

I am having issues with oos camera every time i switch to 4k 60 the phone crashes and go to crashdump mode any thoughts?
Known bug, OOS cam was apparently a pain in the ass to get working so we should already be happy that we have it. Might get fixed in future updates. After crash it should remain on 4K 60FPS so pick a video recording setting and stick with it I suggest :p

@chandu dyavanapelli I have been noticing this bug since the last few builds.

When ambient display is on, and the screen goes to the dimmed state, I cannot use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone. I have the screen off toggle enabled.

When I press on the fingerprint icon, the text on the lockscreen changes, but the scanner doesn't light-up or do anything at all. To unlock the phone, I have to press the power button to go to a "wake" state and then unlock the phone.

I love your ROM since it has enabled me to extract some value out of this phone. Appreciate all your efforts!
Thanks. It is a known issue, should be fix in further update hopefully.

    Chandu,

Love your Rom. Super clean and smooth.

I have had one problem that I cant figure out since running it.. (I have used it through 3 OTA's and had this since begining)...

Using both global and CDMA radios I continue to get an issue where the phone app fails and sends all calls straight to VM, closes the app as soon as I try to dial out.
Texts continue to work and as soon as I reboot it, the phone works fine again for about a day. This is Global OP9-P on US Verizon.

Is there a way I can reflash radios/firmware etc to try and fix whatever has happened?

Also, I notice after reboot that the phone always defaults to silent mode. Not a big deal except that I have to do it daily when I require the reboot to get my phone working again. haha.

    Hi all,

I've seen nameless come up in a few different threads. I have been running a OP9 Pro for a few years now, but I am just disappointed in the way that OP has taken OOS.

I was in the rom game back when I had a Samsung, but I'm potentially looking at getting back into it. To make use of my OP again, because it seems like the 10 and 11 aren't much of an upgrade, and OOS appears to be letting me down.

I don't need to root, I just want something that is going to be stable, work well, and be reliable.

    Does nameless support Dual SIM?
    Hello all,

So I went ahead and installed Nameless OS anyways...install went just fine! I am sure happy with the way that the rom actually installed. Great instructions!

I had issues with my backup through google drive so all my SMS messages and photos are lost...so that's fun...thought everything was backed up to google drive...

So far I am not noticing any Bluetooth issues or concerns, and my Dual SIM seems to be working well.

Few thoughts...i'll probably play around with it...
I already miss OOS active display. I had a nice photo with a canvas that worked very well. I don't even see an option for active display on this ROM.

Is there an option for dual apps?

I can't seem to find many ROM settings themselves...

I Updated to C.48, so what do I do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'll walk you through it, the instructions have been so confusing for me but I finally got it working

    -Unlock your bootloader
-When you reboot, skip through setup, enable developer options again and re-enable USB debugging
-Boot into fastboot/bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)

From here, you need to download 5 files
    • dtbo.img
    • vendor_boot.img
    • boot.img
    • latest version of nameless rom
    • copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip
dtbo.img and vendor_boot.img are found HERE
boot.img and nameless rom are found on the download link in the main post, HERE if you're lazy
    copy partitions zip is found
    HERE

-In fastboot, type these in order
    fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
    fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
    fastboot flash boot boot.img

Obviously, if the img files aren't in the root adb.exe folder, then you put the path to the file
    E.g - fastboot flash dtbo C:\Users\lol\Desktop\dtbo.img

At this point you've flashed the nameless recovery, and you're still in fastboot. Now you need to boot into the recovery.

-Press the volume down button twice so it says "recovery mode" at the top, then press the power button. You're now booting into the recovery.
-In the recovery, select "Apply Update", then "Apply from ADB"
-On your PC, type in 'adb sideload copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip' (Or whatever you've named the copy-partitions zip)

This is a script that will copy everything from the current slot into the inactive slot. You NEED to do this if you haven't flashed your OOS update twice. Might as well do it anyway just in case.

-After it's done, click the back button on the top left and get back to the main screen
-Click advanced, then reboot to recovery
-Once it reboots into recovery again, click factory reset and follow the instructions
-When you've factory reset, go back to the main screen again, and go to "Apply Update", then "Apply from ADB" again like you did before
-Type 'adb sideload nameless.zip' (nameless.zip being the rom, type whatever you've called it, and yes you can rename the zip files for ease)
    -Reboot
    -Enjoy

    NOTE:
If you use windows powershell, you might get a 'cannot read' error when flashing the rom
    Try using command prompt instead

When you flash, it might appear as if it's frozen (it was stuck at 47% for me), don't touch it, just leave it and it will install just fine.

If no devices are showing up in fastboot, use this tutorial HERE
