HI!
I'm having an issue instaling root with this ROM. the proximity and light sensor stops working after install supersu. I've installed the last release and gapps. All ok. after installing supersu, light sensor and proximity stops working. What is the correct way to intall root in this release?

Installed:
RR-N-v5.8.5-20171018-oneplus2-Unofficial-SONI.zip
BeansGapps-Mini-7.1.x-20170725.zip
BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328-forced-systemless.zip (problem)

THANKS!!
Get latest supersu, you are using a way old version which is the problem.

Thanks to all you've been doing for this ROM. By any chance, is anyone having issues with recording a video or 30 seconds or less. When recording I get a pop-up about not connecting to the media server. Also, it force closes when using HDR. Not sure if this involves the Oneplus 2 camera overall, as other cameras seem to do the same. Thanks.

So far, I've come across no issues with this ROM except this as everything else has been outstanding.

Older SuperSU versions used to break the sensors of the phone.

Simply use the latest SuperSU and you won't have any problems.

The ROM is really stable and worthy daily driver except that it charges very slowly for me. And maybe changing the cable or adapter solves this problem (as suggested by experienced users over here) but I don't think that the problem necessarily can be attributed to the cable.
In my case, same cable charges much faster in OOS and AEX (which is my ROM right now).

This thread is a mess now too be honest, too much repetitive questions and nonsense posts even though I requested to at least search before. Looks like no one wants to follow that. So I am requesting to get this thread closed for further notice. I will reopen it when there is a new oreo build but if I find the same repetitive behavior, I will get it closed again. So follow the rules properly here next time.

Whats the antutu score of this rom
install the app and test while if you read the post above yours i'd be not so sure whether this question is meaningful or belongs.

further antutu test are more or less meaningless and depend on a lot on your setup and kernel settings as well as other settings and apps.

i can bring you antutu results with the same rom, device, kernel etc. with a difference of 300% and more.

disable fsync in kernel settings and you will have a boost of antutu score or raise thermal throttling thresholds ( there is a magisk module or you can do it manually ) and you get another boost but even then it remains useless because the base performance of the hardware is so good that one
hardly can feel or see the difference as long as nothing spoils the setup.

same applies with extreme display resolution on device, they're not recognizable, only on beamers and large TV-Sets (really large LOL ) as well as in 3D appliances ( VR and the likes )

I asked about antutu because it gives a vague idea about the gaming performance of the rom. With OOS I was getting very high antutu score and so was the gaming performance. I've used LOS 15 with bb kernel and that wasn't able to run even facebook app smoothly.

yeah, sure, there is always a specific situation and persona reasons, no problem.

JFYI i was running LOS15 and it was extremely fast and buttery smooth from first moment which somehow just shows what i was trying to convey, i'ts about how we setup a device and kernel settings that can make a difference as well as thermal-config.

as i use a standard setup for all my currently 6 devices, only differing by hardware handicaps and advantages i can't tell about other setups, try things out by using the following troubleshooting tutorial, starting from zero and working your setup up till the issues start happening.

if you follow that by the letter you will have a very small range of apps and settings that have changed in between nandroids and can easily narrow things down, means finding the culprit(s)

don't worry that i originally posted that in an OPO thread, it works always, with any device and setup except in case of hardware failures :)

Reverted back to LOS 15. The battery backup was not good on RR(build 20171007) (not sure about the battery backup of the latest build) . RR is a very stable rom with a ton of features and the performance is also very good but at the end of the day there is not enough juice to enjoy all these features.
LOS 15 beta 3 has given me the best battery backup by far.
There are some features which are not available on it but that ain't the deal breaker only because of stability and the battery backup.

You are entitled for your opinion but keep in mind that you are comparing nougat with oreo. It's better of course as I am on oreo too but that's a completely different os version so it is not applicable here.

____

Current status of oreo builds:

We still have some unfinished parts because of caf but hopefully a beta might not be that far. Of course lots of stuff is still missing which was in RR but lots of stuff is already in. Later. :)

Damn, my isp blocked github which I know is very stupid. I am looking for ways to get it unblocked, long way but till then everything is on hold.

Now I know this is before the 18th October update, so I'm guessing its fixed by now. But if it isn't.....
Resolving it at the ISP level is going to take long and they mostly wont even care. So you might wanna start using a VPN - I'd recommend Nord VPN

Also, when you say you're locking the thread, do you just wanna stop spam or are you also halting development? (Post 18th Oct) a.k.a Last build before Oreo :p

I got it resolved from my isp end, it's fine now. I was on VPN for about a day but that's not any ideal situation for me. Thread was locked for limiting spam as my last post indicates that the work is going on.

Just out of curiosity (as I don't know the technicalities) , what's wrong with the nougat on oneplus 2? Other android versions like 6.0.1 and 8.0.0 has fairly good battery backup on oneplus 2 but nougat fails in this regard.

That's your own opinion and without any valid source to prove, I find nougat much better than marshmallow.
