I think it's dead because android 9.0 is released and not even beta version of oreo is available.
I think custom ROMs are dead. Only left are RR, DU and few others(which I am not interested in).

Why do you think they (ROMs) are dead? I'm just curious. I also loved Slim it was always my favorite. But as long as developers are creative and innovative I don't see it ever ending.

It's just MY THOUGHT. There are innovative developers creating stuff, however I just feel that there is NO REPLACEMENT ROM for oxygen os. It's really an almost perfect ROM, with just a few tiny problems.
In the pre lollipop and marshmallo versions of android, there were ROMs that were BETTER THAN STOCK ROMs.
It's just that the Stock Rom are getting really better(with less support time) .

Yeah, I agree with you in that part. People were complaining about oxygen and I always felt it had a little Slim and PA., My two favorite ROM, and as it grew it your right it is a damn good ROM. People will always complain though.
