It depends how you want to install it. If you are on stock rom with magisk installed, you could just install the magisk module over your current setup and you are good to go.

If you install the full rom zip, magisk is already applied to the boot.img, but you'll need to install magisk manager manually (will fix this next release)
ok, but forgive my ignorance, if I'm already on stock rom with magisk installed, why would I want to install the magisk module?

Are you saying that the magisk module you refer to installing changes the rom from stock to your rom?

Edit: I like the look of this rom as it seems like a no bulls**t project (no gimmicks and "placebo" promises) :good:

The magisk module is amazing!
It does everything mentioned in the OP
  • User selectable number of compact quicksetting toggles
  • User selectable number of quicksetting rows
  • User selectable number of quicksetting columns
  • User selectable statusbar clock position (left, right, hidden)
  • Option to open clock app when clicking on statusbar clock
  • Option of double tap statusbar to put phone to sleep
  • Option to hide the keyboard notification when multiple keyboards are installed
  • Option of locking the quicksettings from being pulled down whilst in lockscreen
  • Option of randomizing the digits of the keypad on lockscreen
High Brightness Mode
  • Option of enabling high brightness mode
  • Option of enabling high brightness mode automatically
  • Option of enabling high brightness mode automatically at boot
  • Option of setting a custom threshold for HBM to enable

The magisk module is amazing. Thats exactly what it offers.
Yep, it's a very healthy solution, as you can still keep your system intact this way, just overlaying with magisk.
And it does all the stuff that the full rom flash would do.
I'm using it just like that and everything is working like it should :good::cool:

Nothing at all mate, you won't be able to tell a difference at all
You pretty much just fixed all the things that had been bothering me for the past week! Is it a huge PIA to add features to the magisk module? For example 8 tiles per row

Tried to donate but it won't allow me to purchase, I have plenty of Google play credits so it's not that.

:) that is what we are here for. The module is an alternative to the rom. Whenever the rom gets an update, the module will too.

I can increase the available options for the rows/columns i guess, but in not sure how well they will scale the more we add. I will push an update to the playstore for the RiCE app shortly with a few more extra options

Wow, you are fast! I had no idea magisk could do so much. Do you have apps in the play store I could purchase to support you? The in app purchase options all failed for me. The 8 qs tiles will look perfect at my dpi, i added a screenshot in my last post showing how 8 small qs tiles looks.

I recommend CleanSlate kernel :)
Side note to all with CS custom kernel :
Some mods in kernel and ROM might overlap, so make sure to use one or the other.
I'll make it clearer in the kernel thread too what are those.

Currently:
- High Brightness Mode of ROM and Kernel are overlapping
- ROM Fingerprint longtap settings vs Kernel Fingerprint tweaks

As RICE app and CleanSlate kernel are both well configurable it should not give you any problems, and also if there's any opportunity to make some feature with joint kernel + ROM effort we will take advantage of custom kernel.

:good::highfive::cool:

This is just too cool for skool.

Hopefully this Rom will do for the OnePlus 6 (and even future OnePlus smartphones where applicable), what it has achieved for Samsung Galaxy S and Note Series smartphones.

Can't believe i'm seeing this :)

Edit:

Is there any reason to buy a Samsung Galaxy S.. anymore, except maybe for the camera.

Dunno food for thought I suppose :)

This rom is the first decent rom tbh!! It is kind of ahead of OnePlus. Like they promised to remove the three dots, has AOD, High-brightness mode and many other features. Just see the Initial build is so good can't imagine how it will evolve with time. All the best to the developers and Thanks for such great rom. Waited too long for this! :highfive:

if i am totally stock right now, not even unlocked bootloader:

unlock bootloader
boot/flash TWRP
Flash full zip

or

unlock bootloader
Boot/Flash TWRP
Install Magisk/Root
Install Magisk Module

If i have understood right, i will have the same result, right? This rom really made me to take the next step and start testing custom things
