thanksAll will become good, my friend![]()
Yes it can be made to work@[email protected]
GPS will never work again on the Note2, unless Samsung does something about it (which they won't). No matter which ROM, the binary driver is broken and doesn't work properly anymore since 07.04.2019.
Nope. Unless you have access to Broadcom's SDK with the source for "gpsd".Yes it can be made to work
You don't need the sources to make it work. Yes it would be better to have the sources but they are not required. If I would have wanted I can easily make a nougat build that has gps rollover fixed and gps worksNope. Unless you have access to Broadcom's SDK with the source for "gpsd".
How can you fix gpsd without the sources? Reverse engineering? You don't need the sources to make it work. Yes it would be better to have the sources but they are not required. If I would have wanted I can easily make a nougat build that has gps rollover fixed and gps works

No, that is the problem with the Note2: gpsd loses satfix. This happens also on Stock ROM. Not only the date is wrong. E.g. S3 uses similar gpsd (also Broadcom, but previous chip) and also outputs wrong time, but it has no problem with satfix. You can't correct satfix problem without changing gpsd. And if you have no satfix, you also have no gps-date, so you can't add any days.By changing the Android gps implementation. For GPS rollover you just need to add the days
To fix on a satellite the GPS chipsets and the satellite need to have the same time. If they don't agree on the time then it will not connect. The hole magic from GPS it's made by counting the time difference between the satellite and the deviceNo, that is the problem with the Note2: gpsd loses satfix. This happens also on Stock ROM. GNSS works much more complicated. Also, relative time is enough. The date/timestamp is submitted as payload (simplified), it's not needed for satfix. Without satfix, you will get neither date/time, nor location. To fix on a satellite the GPS chipsets and the satellite need to have the same time.
