I think it's good practice to mention the people that made your work possible. It's a bit unfair to perform like it's completely your work.
The well-kept repos from AICP (thanks @SpiritCroc and a lot of others before) first enabled us to build other android 'flavours' so quickly and with so less effort.
Open source isn't just taking - it's also giving. And even if it's only some credits.

By the way: It would be just fair to give something back if you fix some problems by submitting it to https://gerrit.aicp-rom.com
Good luck. ;)

You're right! All this is possible thanks to @SpiritCroc and the team AICP

Thanks for building RR7! Is anyone running this as a daily driver? If so, can you confirm that bluetooth is working? Thanx again

Tried since yesterday as daily driver. Bluetooth working, at least with my car. Wifi 2.4 and 5Ghz also working (not tested high channels). Camera works as in most other roms (lineageos camera), and GPS works fine, so, as far as I've tested, all is working (NFC not tested)

One annoying thing is that volume buttons only change multimedia volume, and an icon appears to switch ringer from vibration to sound or no sound. It's not an issue, as this behaviour comes directly from android 9 itself, who changed the way this works. Under RR setting you can make a full panel appear.
And may be due to this, Volume settings are a bit messed, with ring and notifications icons/sliders somehow swapped and a strange behaviour when moving them individually. Seems that there is something wrong there.

Otherwise, nice ROM, very similar to AICP.

Hallo.
Very excelent ROM! Everthing works. Sound setings must set on ROM setings, i set slider for bell, ring, multimediaand phone. Up the slider is button to switch to silent mode.

I flash another kernel- RZ . XRen kernel litlle batery drain in my Z1C. RZ kernel i set in Kernel Adiutor and now very good energi optimization and batery saver!
With RZ kernel fully work double tap to sleep and double tap to wake - wau!

Good work! Now my Z1C have 2019 facelift :)

Flashed this ROM today; didn't do much in it, just tested a few things. What I tried was working very well. Got extremely fast GPS fixes.

Many thanks to everyone involved for your efforts! :good::good:

There's only one thing I couldn't get to work: I tried to flash rashad's RZ Kernel V 3.0.2 with the result that my phone wouldn't boot anymore, neither into system nor into recovery. I tried several options but none worked. After each failed attempt I had to re-flash twrp through fastboot as it is described here

1.: flashed ROM + kernel + openGapps 9 pico + Magisk V 18 (in that order) >> no boot into system possible, didn't get past some initial background illumination (no bootlogo or whatever, no LED)
2a: flashed ROM + openGapps 9 pico + Magisk, then booted into system >> OK
2b: booted back into recovery, flashed kernel from zip + Magisk (in that order) >> no boot into system, see #1
3a: repeated 2a >> OK
3b: repeated 2b, but without flashing Magisk >> no boot into system, see #1

While flashing the kernel there aren't any error messages etc.

I admit that it's been quite a while that I last flashed a custom kernel, and that's been a completely different device. So I assume that I'm doing something wrong here.

that's how I did it: bootloader is unlocked since 18 months or so, currently am running LOS 15.1 unofficial; TWRP 3.2.3 is installed to FOTAKernel already.
I always wipe cache, Dalvik/Art, System and Data before I flash a different ROM.
Did the rest as you wrote.
After reflash Xren kernel to RZ kernel must wipe.
Question is: what should I wipe if I flash a different kernel only onto an existing ROM without destroying vital parts of the ROM?

Strange! Tried again one hour ago, and again no chance to boot into system. After waiting for 5 minutes I gave up, now I'm back at LineageOS 15.1 with standard kernel and twrp installed in FOTAKernel (at least that's what I think)

Hy!
I set government CPU and GPU to Perfomance and now here is final test. Phone is not hot. Again, thank you for this ROM.

Hi @raschad,

first of all, thank you for your effort spent in this ROM.

I've tested it for three days on my device and - wow - this is very promising! Slick and responsive UI, overall performance is great. All phone features working like a charm.

Nevertheless, I encountered following issues:

Same as for user @lm089, I cannot boot with RZ kernel installed (thank you for your hint using fastboot to get back into recovery). Thus, I tested the ROM with the kernel it originally ships.

I use my phone as alarm clock. At night it is turned into flight mode. But while in flight mode, scheduled alarms won't wake the phone and play sound. Instead, when manually waking the phone after the scheduled alarm, there is a notification stating a "missed wakeup call". Not very helpful ;)
Without flight mode, alarms are firing fine. Maybe this is some kind of "do not disturb" feature automatically activated within flight mode?

One morning, when manually waking the phone, it showed a quick "shutting down" message and turned off. Battery was >50% the night before, but now the phone was 'dead'. Needed 20 minutes charging prior willing to boot.
This battery drop issue occurred just once.

Two times, after waking the phone, display was completely unresponsive for touch input. Hardware buttons still working, but even putting the phone back in standby and waking again doesn't get the touch input back working -> hard reboot needed.

When configuring the camera app to store images onto external SD card, it stores pictures into /sdcard/Android/data/org.lineageos.snap/files. Pictures won't show up in gallery afterwards, as there is a .nomedia file present.

For now I'm back at Oreo which is very stable for me. But I'm eager for this great ROM. Feels great on a five years old device to have bleeding edge software running that smooth.
Please let me know if you need any further information or other support in order to track these issues down.

Looking forward to test any future releases!

Kind regards,
Simon

Hi again,

I've tested the RZ3.5 kernel with this rom (just installing it under TWRP), and I've to say that it worth the improvements. The overall feeling of performance is similar or better, but the real improvement is in battery duration. Actually I've a quite old battery installed, that gives me about 16h of working time. With RZ I'm getting consistently more than 24h. Tested during some days and it's an improvement of more than 50% in battery life, some days even about 100% improvement. Impressive.

So, the overall impression is quite nice. Phone is very responsive, and battery lasts enough... seems almost a new phone. Thanks all involved
