Well, this ROM is now my official daily driver as my spare smp600 (which was newer than this one) died completely overnight. [/QUOTE]
Sorry, that was posted here in error. It was meant to go under the RR FORUM for this smp 600.
As far as this goes as a ROM for OREO, it seems to still be up in the air bout further support. Personally, I have tried THIS release and it was promising, yet rough around the edges. As a beta release, it's still not solid to me until more support of any kind is on the way.
Looks like there will be no more development under the AICP ROM, so it is as good as it will get. But, it seems that the RR ROM is still "in development", so that might become my daily driver. Meanwhile I am open an ready to test ANY OREO ROM that anyone throws at me, since it seems to install well as a beta pretty smoothly. Dam! I WISH I could CODE! Is it anything like what DOS coding was way back when...? ;-DeanoD

Shev_t sad that RR team has end development on Nougat and working on Oreo same as Lineage os team. And he sad that Oreo for our device is very likely, but no guarantees.

Oreo Beta or Paranoid Android?

Z- Just wanting to pick yer brain about smp600 ROMS. Would I be better with going with the beta Oreo build, or would Paranoid Android be worth a shot. I have flashed every ROM on these forums for my trio of tabs, but it gets frustrating at times. What I saw there really did seem promising and might be best until Oreo gets more updates. Thanks for your work.

Who Farted?

OK. Is it just me or does it seem like somebody farted in the room and cleared out all the developers? I understand that much of the collective energy has now moved on to Oreo and beyond, but what happened to all the support for the smp600 owners? Or is out device of choice being relegated to the wayof the video tapes? ANYBODY got even a tidbit of something coming ? Just me being an old fart-;-DeanoD

I still use my P600 a lot as unique tablet and I'd like to have stable Oreo; really beside the S3 that is over price I don't see something with pen that can replace it. Power, speed, the only small issue is the 16gb, get rapidly load with a lot of soft. But I think with the start of P many developers will let Oreo behind so we will get stuck one more time.
I am using stock port 6.0.1. I have been using N but always come back to Samsung Stock port.

I wish we can have O or P someday
Kind of like P

In the Axon7 forum @Oki published a script to repartition devices in order to add a vendor partition : https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/tool-party-v0-1-vendor-partition-t3831517
If I'm not mistaken, it should work on any ARM devices. Maybe porting treble to our tablet would help getting Oreo smooth as butter :). If any developer is interested in porting treble to this tablet, I am ready to try repartition mine and tell you if it works; you just need to PM me.
I hope Treble can give this tablet a second life.

Yo should instead make a new thread to discuss about treble specifically

I think the dev has stopped working on this. Honestly I'm pretty happy with 7. Considering I'm still getting weekly updates and Samsung gave up on it years ago.

My 7 is not working correctly. The size of the screen is not 16:9, it's more like an Smartphone. The background is fullscreen, but you can't move the icon where you want.
And you can't see the running apps by pushing and holding the home button. So i can't close opend apps

Which version did u use?

Nov 23 update. Working fine for me. May be something with the launcher you're using that is limiting you to smaller space. All my apps open in 16:9. Launcher settings can restrict to a certain space. Check launcher settings.

Could you please share the link to the rom you're using? I'd rather be on Oreo but 7 will be better than stock!
