the selection tool is and has always been on the note 12.2

press and hold the pen button and draw around what you wish to select. on the note 4 you invoke it in a different way but the functionality is the same.

regarding tab pro 12.2 T900 this rom is not made with it in mind but many including myself have installed it on one and have little to no problems aside from rotation. you can still rotate by launching an app that by default only operates on the specific orientation, but you will need to launch another of the opposite orientation to get it to back: in short, only the "AUTO" rotation is broken. manual still works. also, I would recommend avoiding the custom kernels on T900 that the installer offers to you. maybe they're would be no issue.. but just play it safe :)

My apologies, I should have been more clear. With the note 4 you can select text by pressing the button on the spen similar to right click on a pc. It's not part of the spen pop up menu.

Agreed. Any chance this will be added in a future release?
It's not a bug from the rom. Just a functionality thing for the T900 and my guess is not something he is going to do/be able to do. . As the above posted just have to do the work around

Hopefully Sbreen can confirm but I think you're right; this ROM is being built upon the stock SM-P900 ROM and as such has the same basic system level features or lack thereof.

For example the ability to change an application from full screen to a window by swiping inwards from the upper corners of the screen that is observed on the Note 4 is not something that can be ported over to the Note Pro. This is probably the single biggest feature I want on the Note Pro. It saddens me that there has been no KK update from Samsung for other devices that has the feature. I'm guessing the fact that we haven't seen it elsewhere may mean that if it does come it will be in a Lollipop update.

Kinda kills me to have better multiwindow support on a tiny device like the Note 4 and not the Note Pro. I get that they wanted to raise the bar and all but in the end a 5.5" screen has no room to put 2 apps and a keyboard on it so true multitasking on a phone is not really practical. Hopefully they'll port the functionality to the 10" and 12" tablets where it should be (as I type this I have no idea if any other Galaxy tablets have it, just that we "pros" don't).

Totally agree

I don't see how the note 4's functionality is better than 12.2, it's exactly the same except for:

1. on note 4, you can't set long press back to kill app AND use multi window normally at the same time
2. you can't invoke multi window or pop up via s pen on note 4

so if anything, I would argue it's better on the 12.2 without even considering the screen sizes to begin with

regarding tab pro, I have an idea to restore auto rotation which I will try soon if no one else gets to it before me:

1. while on tab pro stock ish rom, backup the kernel with Flashify
2. install/restore to this rom
3. restore the kernel

That is not an option on the 12.2.

I agree with you on #2 but I'd rather have the full-screen to window mode feature than pen window. For #1 I could care less about long press to kill, takes too long so I use GMD Gesture control for that and have 5 finger pinch to instant kill an application, however I do miss pulling out the multiwindow menu from right edge on my Note 4 too.

Probably best to see what the next update brings (stock note pro, not hyperdrive). hopefully it's a mix of features so that we gain the good parts of the Note 4 without losing functions.

wait, wouldn't 5 pinch interfere or conflict with the palm gesture for screenshots?

Hello.

I am having an issue with the screen not wanting to come back on at times.... But the back and recent buttons lights up as well as sounds work.

---------- Post added at 04:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------

Do you know what I should look into to help the screen come back on? Thanks

Honestly have not yet had this issue. . Not sure. You using any 3rd party lockscreen?

in my past experiences I have known 2 things to cause screen delays: kernel bug, and incorrect bootloaders

though I haven't seen or heard of this problem on this device from kernels (or anything for that matter), nor have I heard of old bootloaders causing any problems on this device... and my BL is NIE

maybe maybe he tweaked wakelocks on this or an older rom / kernel?

Red Underline Spell Check???

First and foremost, THANK YOU!

I had high hopes for this tablet when I bought it 10 months ago, but lacking the AOSP red-underline spell check has rendered it mostly unusable for me as a communication instrument. Ironically / pathetically, I use my $150 Chinese Kitkat phone for all of my emails because I make fewer typos.

I am really, really hoping that "Spell Check Mod enabled" means un-crippling the AOSP red-underline spell check. Immediately after installing Hyperdrive, I tossed some gibberish into an email and it was not flagged as I had hoped. Is there a setting that I have missed? Should I have installed with one of the modded kernels?

Please advise me on how to enable the spell-check. Hopefully I just missed something during installation in my excitement! :fingers-crossed:

Again, thank you so much - I can see that this has been an enormous effort.

Yes i have "uncrippled" it if I'm getting what you are saying. Go to settings/language and input/spelling correction. Enable it there
Note you have to have the Google keyboard installed for it to work :)
Enjoy
