I was thinking the same thing, minus the overheating.. massive battery drain, and I dont even use this phone with a sim.
Users have different experiences. I'm sharing mine but it doesn't mean it will be what you will too. So far, performance of pie rom is way better than what I had with oreo. However, bsttery drain is an issue especially Overnight when connected to Wi-Fi. I don't use exposed so I cannot attest to that part. I only root and use adblock since thats suffice for my needs. It's been a couple days since last wipe of dalvik/cache. I've been running oreo 8.1 with latest ABC rom and elemental x kernel on performance mode but everything seems to be very laggy.
I don't want to keep factory resetting my 6P everytime it slows down/lags. I've read this rom is a bit snappier. I kind of don't want to lose xposed to android P for a miniscule performance update. Is it worth the update? Also, are there any major issues in beta?
Yeah it's because it's creating an overlay rather than turning pixels off like it's supposed to.I realized it lasts way longer with battery saver and smart pixels at 50% always on, I kept it about 66% brightness.
Another problem I found was that you can't activate administrator app privileges, allow apps to set up VPNs, or enable an accessibility while smart pixels is on. Good thing I put my song library directly on my phone instead of using my Google play music library last like last rom. It took me a while to realize it was the smart pixels, the only hint I got was a toast saying something like "Because an app is obscuring a permission request, we can't verify your response" but only for trying to enable an accessibility.
I panicked thinking I'm never going to be able to be use Wi-Fi at school but after finding out I just had to disable smart pixels all was splendid. (I know this isn't a daily driver)
Any idea when the next stable release will be?
Can anyone pm me a link to latest test build?
The ROM works very well, but at the first reboot, before loading system, the phone ask me to insert the pattern to unlock the system. I insert the right pattern and after 5 second is shown the message " shutdown of the system ", while in background it shows "verifying" and "Loading system". So it's not possible to log into the system at the first reboot after setting up a pattern.
Thanks.
You have to provide a bit more information than this, come on now. LolI cannot make calls and receive calls. I have tried what someone else said in this thread about uninstalling google phone app, installing a different phone app, and then reinstalling google phone app but none of that worked. Anyone know a fix for this?
Apologies, I have cleaned flashed the rom, using full stock 9.0 gapps and radio images are on version 3.87. Also on August vendor image. When receiving an inbound call, my phone does not ring and shoe anything but the person calling can hear their phone ringing. During outbound calls I do not hear any ringing and nothing shows up on the other's phone.
Am i missing anything?
Edit: Forgot to say i am on latest twrp recovery.
Did you make sure that under Apps & Notifications-Advanced-Default Apps, that Phone is selected?
As I said, try using a different gapps that you've been using. If you aren't using the ones recomended in op try them, if you are, try different ones, don't you think it's worth a try? You have to try .
Come on dude, theres like 15 pages talking about this already .If you want to receive and make calls you have to change the mobile network to 3G.Theres no VOLTE yet.Yup had phone app as default. So far I've tried aroma and full stock gapps, i'll try the other ones later today and try to report back.
