Well i figured its that or you're focused on the 10. But then again that is much less work than giving a bootable 10 so i figured why not ask, even tho i know the etas are not the questions to ask usually.

Thank you, been eager to try it :D

Booted and rooted nicely, so far so good. I'm trying it on the eol derpfest pie. If i find any issues ill let people know, but i think it'll work just fine.

Can this kernel be used on Android 10 derpfest and do you flash it after flashing ROM?

No it can not. It's an fde kernel and it will only work on fde pie roms.
However since all tens are encrypted and i presume the 10 from winxuser will be the same, the kernel he makes for ten should work on derpfest ten.
I installed the derfest pie a week ago or more and had everything ready. Got the kernel, flashed it and then re-flashed the magisk for the root.

By "all android ten ROMs are encrypted" you mean use fbe encryption and not fde? He's not said anything about switching to fbe, and I hope he doesn't. All fbe threads are a god damn joke.

I haven't even left this ROM, there's no reason to, it works great, and if I want customization there's aicp which is also a great rom. Only reason I even come on to XDA anymore is to see if this is updated or to read the absolute circus that this device has become thanks to android ten and fbe.

Yeah i meant the fbe encryption. Well i use the eol derpfest build because it's like a 10, seems to have system wide dark theme like 10. Only on that rom instagram auto changes to dark theme, since it does not have that toggle on its own. Also other roms which have dark theme, it does not change to dark theme at all. And it has everything i need. So that rom and this kernel is the best of both worlds.

If it works out for you great. And being able to use an updated kernel with it, doesn't really matter much its eol then.

It just seems like everyone wants to push to use googles new encryption type because "its new" regardless if it comes with possible issues with the device or not. Its op's choice to do what he wants, I just think its good to have options.

I can only see my self using 10 as the derpfest 10 matures and if i would have this kernel for 10. But since its likely that this 10 might also be fde, than i wont have the kernel and i will have no reason to update.

Yes but i havent found the kernel or settings on oreo that would give me the battery life like i have with this kernel, and the carbon rom is fbe so i cant install this kernel to it.

After i used this kernel and the aosip rom for a few days, i can say i've had no issues with it. The rom still sometimes lags and freezes a bit. Might be that it's overloaded or something, its donwload size is about a gigabyte.
I've had the best battery life in a while with having 3.5h of sot of combined use of wifi and lte with 45% of battery remaining.
