Damn, I've come back for this rom. It is ten times better than android 10 roms. Android 10 is full of bug. I miss this smoothness more than dark mode...

Perhaps you'd like to contribute to the development of Lineage 17.1 or Android 10 based roms?

I'm curious what bugs you've had. I've been running Pixel Dust and have only encountered a few bugs, nothing that discourages daily driver use.

- headset bug, doesn't detect my earphone and if it does, sound doesn't come out or it'll show the headset logo even though I already pull out my earphone ( I'm use my earphone all the time so this is a problem )
- random reboots / black screens / bootloops
- if I left my phone idle for a minute or so it'll shutdown ( I have to restart all the time )

It still does happen on lineage os but not as often, maybe it's the battery problem. I'm buying a new phone anyways- realme c3

I once have that headset problem with my home-built ROM but I fixed it with someway I can't remember how, should be software problem, you can use Lesser AudioSwitch from play store as a workaround.
btw how could realme be any better than OG Pixel though?

I bought the og pixel because it is selling cheap in Malaysia, it is RM 350 (still a lot money). I kinda regret it because the battery is small and the included battery has not been replaced as it is a refurbished one. I know I can change the battery to fix the short battery problem but the battery is apparently expensive, so I better off buying a new phone. I wanted to bought the realme c3 because it has massive battery ~ 5000 mah and the essential stuff like fingerprint scanner, powerful soc ( I don't really play games but it's nice to have) . I don't mind the 32GB storage and the micro usb.

Long story short the of pixel battery is sh*t, the realme is better because of the 5000 mah battery. Still trying the lesser audio switch so I cannot really give an update yet.

I had an OG Pixel XL (refurbished) , my current daily driver still hold up after changed the battery. My highest SOT can goes to 6 hrs. But the battery cost is very expensive, Maybe around RM 200 something when I changed. But it's better for you to get a new phone if you want to. But Pixel phone are using software for optimization so the hardware side especially battery size will quite bit outdated compared with the other Android smartphone like Xiaomi.

I am having a strange problem.

I have not plugged the PixelXL into my desktop computer for many months.

When I plug it in, ADB devices shows no devices.
The PixelXL shows "USB debugging connected".

I have tried 3 usb cables - same result.

Any ideas?

The new 17.1 is such a humongous mess.
Wish I never sideloaded it.
Will take days to "maybe" get things working like they were 7 months ago.
So disappointed.
Wish I left things alone.

I have "Jump to camera" enabled, so double-pressing the Power button with the screen off used to open the Camera app and it was useable. A few weeks ago, something changed -- I didn't change anything as far as I know -- and now it opens the lockscreen when I double-press Power. And then if I unlock with my fingerprint, the whole screen is grayed out except the status bar, like it's still locked.

Annoying! Any idea what's going on there?

    marlin twrp - https://twrp.me/google/googlepixelxl.html

    sailfish rom - https://download.lineageos.org/sailfish
    sailfish twrp - https://twrp.me/google/googlepixel.html

    gapps - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397956755
Note: If you're a Google Fi customer, you need some extra gapps, so use this one instead. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397956756

    Instructions:
Note#1: Official nightlies have the most current vendor, radio, and bootloader img's built-in, so no need to worry about flashing those anymore.
Note#2: When using twrp it will ask if you want to install the twrp app. Make sure you tap "DO NOT INSTALL".
Note#3: Root is not included in official lineage roms. If you want root you can flash the arm64 su addon here. It will be disabled by default. You can enable it in developer options.

    1. boot into twrp and select wipe, then swipe to factory reset. NOTE: If updating from a previous official rom (15.1/16.0), skip this wipe step.
    2. flash rom zip.
    3. flash twrp zip.
    4. (optional) if you want to install gapps zip or su addon zip, in twrp main menu select reboot, then select recovery, then install those zips.
    Reboot & enjoy.

    Weather Provider Addon (Optional)
For those that like the lineage cLock widget, here's the OpenWeatherProvider apk you need to get weather info. https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Grab the one for version 16.0.
Note: You'll need an api key from OpenWeatherMap.

    it's happening :D
    https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/hudson/+/244070
get it from the download portal.

Note: Official 16.0 builds have the vendor img built-in, so you don't flash that anymore. The radio & bootloader imgs don't come built-in, so you have to flash those separately. Our infrastructure still needs some work to include them. You can get them here for marlin or sailfish.
EDIT: Correction. The radio and bootloader imgs are included in the rom. No need to flash them.

Going from official 15.1 to official 16.0
No wiping needed. Just reboot into twrp and flash the official 16.0 rom zip and twrp zip, then reboot to recovery, then flash pie gapps zip (linked below).

Going from unofficial 16.0 to official 16.0
Normally you'd wipe data in this scenario. But if you don't want to wipe, you can use the lineage-migration-signed.zip. It's located here.
No wiping needed. Just reboot into twrp and flash the official 16.0 rom zip and lineage-migration-signed.zip and twrp zip, then reboot to recovery, then flash pie gapps zip (linked below).
Note: There's one extra step you need to do if you don't wipe data when going from unofficial 16.0 to official. My unofficial builds have a couple features that aren't merged into lineage source yet. Like circle battery icon. This will cause a bootloop when going to official build without wiping. To avoid the bootloop, just open the file manager while you're in twrp and navigate to the '/data/user_de/0/org.lineageos.lineagesettings' folder. You will see a few folders in there (cache,code_cache,databases,shared_prefs). Tap the blue checkbox icon in the bottom right and select the delete option to delete the 'org.lineageos.lineagesettings' folder. that's it. Note: One minor side effect of deleting that folder is some of your settings on lineage features will reset to the default setting.

    New gapps
normal mindthegapps (almost the same as official mindthegaps. i just added faceunlock & wellbeing)
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397912604

project fi mindthegapps (added the following apps. project fi, google connectivity services, hangouts, carrier services, faceunlock, wellbeing)
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397912605
Note: I made several changes to project fi stuff to attempt fixing it. Just a shot in the dark. No one has provided logs so who knows. lol
If you still see the same issue, grab logs. Then reboot to twrp and repeat install steps but with the normal mindthegapps linked above. They should work, but you'll have to install project fi app from the play store.

    New blog post: https://lineageos.org/Changelog-22/

Side note on that: Don't worry about marlin and sailfish missing from that 16.0 party. I'll be switching them to official 16.0 builds within a few days. :good:

    Some new builds

Note: These builds include the vendor, radio, and bootloader images. So you don't need to worry about flashing those separately.
