For double tap to wake option you should go to Settings > System > Gestures.

Sent from my Google Pixel 3 using XDA Labs

I have that set to on alongside all other options. I cannot get it to work though even after a phone restart.

Don't know what's wrong with your phone. What's your setup? What all things you flash?

I recorded a video for you: https://youtu.be/oGZ1xM2v9Gk

Nitin

Seriously appreciate all the info and help, all I have flashed is the ROM. I used to have double tap to wake on stock and even on nitrogen. Switched from nitrogen to this ROM after using fastboot to stock flash February .IMG then I used adb sideload to installed this ROM. I didn't flash anything besides the ROM. I am not on the most recent ROM you just released that fixes always on display bugs though. I'll keep tinkering and perhaps flash newest update to troubleshoot some more. For now though its not a huge deal.

Not Saving Information after Reboot

Just got my Pixel 2 XL yesterday (Nexus 6 has now been retired) and installed Pixel Dust. Everything was great until I found out some apps and some settings are not being saved after a reboot.

Changing the Bluetooth name to something besides Pixel 2 XL does not work. Changing the Accent color does not stick. Some apps are forgetting their information as wel suh as SMBSync2.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Googling and searching has not resulted in anything.

Edit:
Looks like there might be a conflict with the restored backup from TitaniumBackup from the Nexus6. Uninstalling the app, downloading it from the app store, and then creating a fresh configuration fixed the SMBSync2. I'll have to go through every app to see what is broken and what is not.

Wiped Cache/Dalvik and the system is still forgetting after a reboot. Uggg.

I haven't flashed a kernel on top of the one that comes with this ROM.
First thing you MUST do is update to latest version of the wee are talking about two different things.

Your next post should be regarding your test results on latest build and nothing else :)

Dt2w doesnt work for me either. Clean flash ./flash-all.sh
Did you read the posts above and posts on last page?
What are you settings that are mentioned in those posts?
What version are you on? Build date?

No sorry I didn't. Gonna look at it. I have dt2w in settings/system/

I'm on 20190226

It works when I have enabled Aod

I can confirm dt2w is working for me on latest build with and without AOD. I'm using EX Kernel 2.11, however, if that makes a difference.

So, what are your real issues now? You sided the apps settings issue.

Bluetooth? It works for me, see attahed screenshot with changed Bluetooth name, I also paid with other phone with this changed name ( shown in second screenshot)

Accent colour, of course sticks after reboot (since the very first build that was tied for this ROM). Still I tested it just now by rebooting the phone and (as expected) it works.

I didn't get what you mean by "Wiped Cache/Dalvik and the system is still forgetting after a reboot"? You meant accent colour?

If I were you, I would download the latest version again and do a clean flash. Check these things before setting up the phone or installing any apps or restoring any data (from Google or titanium backup)

Moving forward what is the best way to update the ROM for new builds? I tried using adb to sideload the latest version and my phone just hung at the white screen google boot logo. I would like to avoid having to factory reset in the future if possible.

Started from scratch. Installed factory image, then the rest of the setup instructions. Allowed Google to restore the apps and settings from it's backup. Accent color was working correctly now. However Bluetooth was not. Changing the name, rebooting, always reset it back. However, changing the name, then pairing a device allowed it to stick. Restored the missing apps from Titanium and now everything is working. Thanks for your help.

Hello together

I dirty flashed the latest version yesterday over the one from the beginning of the month.
Everything's fine so far. But now I have a strange problem, but I don't know if this is due to the update:
If I want to download or send pictures in Whatsapp, the app crashes. I already reinstalled it, downgraded it to an older one and upgraded it to beta. Unfortunately without success. I also did Wipe Dalvik/ART. Can anyone confirm the behavior?

Thanks in advance.

Pixel Dust ROM is an Android 8.x ROM especially built for Google Pixel and Nexus devices.

The code is based off directly from AOSP. We strive to keep the Pixel Dust Experience as close as possible to Android as Google intended. We add a decent selection of the coolest custom ROM features that would've been missed if they hadn't been included. Thanks to all development teams, e.g. ABC ROM, AICP, AOKP, AOSPA, BenzoROM, CarbonROM, crDroid, DirtyUnicorns, LOS, OmniROM, PureNexus, Screw'd and UberRom, we borrowed a few features and tweaks from. Special thanks to xanaxdroid and flar2 for their commits which I have used to develop the custom kernel in this ROM.

The Pixel Dust Crew would highly appreciate if you would take a little of your time and leave your valuable feedback, your honest opinion or just say hello. If you should encounter a bug, or some kind of glitch that seems to be abnormal and you are pretty sure that it is related to the ROM (and not related to any special apps or mods you flashed on top), then please give as many details as possible.

Special shoutouts to Roger.T for his amazingly designed wallpapers, logos and the best bootanimation I ever had on my Pixel XL!!! If you like our work, please consider to buy Roger the first beer, and a few more for the other team members and myself. Cheers!

BTW, please consider to take a logcat, because you know that:

    DespairFactor said:
If you submit bug reports without a log, you may be prosecuted...or executed.

    Disclaimer:
If your device fails to comply with your standards of what you consider functioning, I am not liable. This is provided free of charge and does not come with a warranty. Although, if you provide a log, I can provide some sort of assurance that I will look into your issue.

Guys, here is the first BETA Android 10 build for taimen...

    Download link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/pi...Dust-X-aosp-taimen-20191013-1936.zip/download

The build is with October security patch. Flashing process is same as Pie:
    - make sure you are on October security patch
    - boot to twrp
    - wipe cache and data
    - flash ROM and reboot
    - do not install gapps as they are included in the ROM

Huge thanks to @spezi77 for ROM and @Myself5 for taimen device, kernel and vendor trees!

    Known issues:
Root doesn't work on few apps like Titanium backup.

    Share your feedback :highfive:

    Enjoy!
