Just giving my review of this Rom. It is smooth, fast and fc free. Truly a gem that most people don't know about but wished they had.

Been on xda for many years and finally got around installing it. Everything works great and is a huge improvement overall. The battery is also much better vs stock. Since I was having a problem with TWRP I was thrilled to see that the webinstaller worked flawlessly.

Donation coming soon to the dev.

Last night the ROM would not boot after I entered the security lockscreen password and just kept a black screen, if I touched the phone it would vibrate. Had 75% charge and there was no way to get into it. I ended up flashing last official stock ROM onto the phone and all is working normally now.

When I get the chance I may try this one again.

How do it upgrade from Bliss 12.12 (10) without loosing and apps and data?

Changing from one ROM to another, you cant just flash hope it all works

I would recommend a backup of anything you love on sdcard, and then also of apps and data

For me the backup app i use is free and is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...20-migrate-custom-rom-migration-tool.3862763/

How i use it is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...stom-rom-migration-tool.3862763/post-85209583

I'll repost the pertinent parts of that post here in more obvious Backup and Restore sections:

Note: Migrate requires root (Magisk) to backup and restore, as it backs up apps AND app data (oh and permissions, call logs/SMS etc)

Initial Setup (only needed once)

  1. Install (if you dont have them already):

  2. Then open MyAPK, locate and backup to /sdcard/Migrate (this only needs to be done once, to backup the files):

    Migrate Flasher Module
    Migrate Helper Module
Note: You dont need to keep a copy of the main Migrate app, because that will be included of course in your backup

Backup process:

  1. Create a backup in Migrate
  2. Copy the /sdcard/Migrate folder off device for extra safe keeping, in case you HAVE to format /data when installing new ROM

Restore process (after creating a backup each time):

  1. Flash ROM as per usual
  2. Install Magisk
  3. If you did have to format data during ROM flash, copy the Migrate folder back to /sdcard
  4. Go to /sdcard/Migrate folder and install:

    Migrate Helper Module
    Migrate Flasher Module

  5. Run Migrate Flasher Module after install, and flash zips (make sure to select all, scroll to check you have selected all)
  6. At completion it will ask you to open Migrate Helper Module, which will be already installed, open it and flash the apps you want to restore
  7. Finalize/Uninstall
  8. Device will reboot

Setup ROM settings as usual

Re-login into apps that need logging in

Life is easy

Note:

Not every app will seamlessly make the migration and run like it did pre migration....case in point, i never tick the data column (centre column) for Samsung Wear, Health or Health Monitor, or my banking apps - i log in to all again after migration. After a while you will figure out which apps to untick data on and just login to those once migrated - it will save you having to clear data on them post migration. Migrate remembers which apps you have selected and or not selected, and which columns you have selected between backups. So make sure if youre doing a backup to check you have ticked any new apps since last backup.

Ok, magnaged to make the move from Bliss (10) to Proton (11), so far so good.

However, I have a few things missing:

a) customizing (colors, ...)
b) edge sense can't be modified (long/short)
c) no "terminate active app" by gesture (long swipe)
d) no advanced power menu

Are there any tricks or workarounds for those points?

Any need to change kernel?

I'm not passing savbety net, yet, may Google Play Store is not vertified.

Tried this

Google Pay should work with the following:
  • MagiskHide enabled in Magisk Manager
  • Do SafetyNet check in Magisk Manager
If you dont pass SafetyNet, i would be surprised...

If you pass SafetyNet, then next check Play Store is Certified (Google Play Store -> Settings -> About)

If device is uncertified:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode to On
  • Clear Data for Google Play Store and Google Play Services
  • Reboot
  • Toggle Airplane Mode to Off
  • Wait 5 minutes
  • Check Play Store is certified
  • If Certified, open Google Pay, and add card

Just got a Pixel 2 XL, how stable is this rom as a daily driver?
Not a single issue with the rom in a few months of use.

Note that I use the standard, bundled google services. The new, google-as-non-system (compatibility layer) sounds really cool, but also may prevent some things from working.

I did have an issue with the web-installer when I tried using a marginally bad cable: it just hung rather than give me an error message.

Remember to read the list of the rom's feature, and what it doesn't do. This is not a rom with a lot of customization.

Finally, it seems that it is no longer able to pass safety net out of the box.

Hey.. I've been trying to install the August minimal update 11.6 for a bit and every time I flash the nikgapps package after flashing the rom, I either get a bootloop issue or a your device is corrupt screen. I've tried the web installer, the factory image, and the ota install and all produce the same outcome. So I went back to the July 11.5.2 rom and everything installs great again. I was just wondering if you could help me out on this problem. thanks..

You may need the latest Universal SafetyNet Fix from here:

To use this new version, you will need Riru, from here (installed first, then reboot, the try USNF above):

Do a clear of google play store/services and google pay afterwards, and if still no luck with google pay, remove card and readd...

* Be aware that you should not use the very latest Magisk Alpha (706a4922) with Riru as it has known issues at the moment.

    ProtonAOSP
    Android 11 ROM

ProtonAOSP is a minimal Android fork (custom ROM) focused on UI/UX and performance, with a touch of privacy.

    Screenshots
    Screenshots of the latest version

    Installation
This ROM is currently distributed as factory images, similar to stock. Flash it the same way you would flash stock factory images. Don't forget to wipe all data using "fastboot -w" before booting the ROM.

Firmware is included, so there is no specific requirement for which version of the stock ROM you are coming from.

You can also use the quick & easy web installer, which allows you to install and update the ROM from any computer or phone without using the command line. The installer works entirely within your web browser and completes in as little as 4 minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection. Consider using the web installer instead of installing manually.

Builds with and without minimal Google services (gapps) included are provided for convenience.

Using the quick and easy web installer is recommended unless you have a specific reason to download and install the ROM manually.
