I am going to flash this to my phone but before I do was curious if the hotspot was enabled or if I will need to root and enable this myself?

Bump. I dont see this listed as an option. Someone who is using this rom please mention if wifi tether(hotspot) is enabled or if it needs to be changed via an edit. This is my business phone so cant have it down for long. Thank you.

Do you still need to update to the rom from the November 2019 factory image? I tried installing this yesterday and it didn't take the rom, I was on August factory image.

Edit: Nevermind. I had tried to flash after coming back from android beta. I must not have been flashed to both slots. Testing rom out now! Thanks for all your hard work, it is very much appreciated!!!

I have a question regarding getting magisk hide to work properly on this rom. I am able to run magisk,no problem. But when i try to turn on magisk hide for an app it never saves the settings. Has anyone had success doing this, and if so what did you do to get it running correctly

My settings save. Just did a clean flash from the August factory image. Did you dirty flash?

I have installed this the other day and have been using it as a daily driver. Best rom I've ran thus far on the 3XL. Only issue I have noticed is once in awhile when the screen transfers from a call to the normal screen the phone blanks out for about 10 seconds. No log cats for this issue and not really an issue just curious if anyone else has ran across this? Thanks devs!

Are you using the stock launcher or a third party one?

@spezi77 Hey man, great work with this CAF ROM... Was just curious if you'd planned to take on Android 11 for Crosshatch, now that it's been announced. Thanks for this work. It's the best ROM I've found for my purposes

just chiming in to say thank you for this great ROM. It is very smooth/stable and has all the features from other ROMs I've tried all rolled into one.
It also has built-in signature spoofing, I didn't see this ROM listed for that when I was searching for the perfect ROM for me, but it does indeed have that.

I can even fastboot into TWRP 3.4.0-0 and flash stuff in there. Decryption works. It would be great if you could incorporate TWRP into a permanent feature like the sailfish version (although that one I can no longer get to work with decryption, sigh). In another section, BigBiff made a lot of progress recently with it but so far no kernel capable of unzipping the right format. Since this ROM already has a special boot.img, maybe it's possible? I've tried several different things towards that end but I really need to open up the files and look inside if I'm going to be successful at that.

I love the wallpaper artwork, the ninja star quick tiles, the smorgasboard of colors available (indigo is my fave),

really hoping you guys do a crosshatch for android 11, though I should probably upgrade to a pixel 5 xl anyways lol.

thanks again

How is this rom with battery life and ram management (aka killing apps) versus stock?

I'm on 11 and like it, but would like a little more battery life and not having apps reload all the time. Might have to give this a shot.

    Thank you for the update!
Why are the downloads so slow? Took 15 minutes just to download the boot.img and windows says 8 hrs to download the rom?
    Hello,

Took me 30 seconds to download the ROM and 2 seconds for the boot.img.

    Cheers,

PixelDust ROM is an Android 12 ROM inspired by the original Google Pixel firmware with full support for Material Design 3.

PixelDust CAF is based on the Code Aurora Sources, more commonly known as CAF. CAF ROMs are therefore generally considered to be more optimized for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs than AOSP ROMs (in performance, RAM management, battery, etc.).

Of course, we're adding a decent selection of the coolest custom ROM functions that would have been missing if they weren't included.

The PixelDust crew would be very happy if you took a little time to leave your valuable feedback, your honest opinion or just say hello.

Special shoutouts to Roger.T for his amazingly designed wallpapers, logos and the best bootanimation I ever had on my Pixel!!! If you like our work, please consider to buy Roger the first beer, and a few cups of coffee for spezi77. Cheers!

    Installation%20guide.png

    Pre-requisites:
    * You are familiar with helping yourself out of awkward situations. You won't defame or complain at the developer of this ROM for your misfortunes.
    * You are familiar with using fastboot
    * Before you are ready to flash this custom ROM, you have to install the latest factory image from October 2021
    * Bootloader unlocked
    * You have created a backup of your ROM & data

First time installing PixelDust ROM, or coming from another ROM:

YOU MUST HAVE RECENT FACTORY IMAGE FLASHED TO BOTH SLOTS BEFORE YOUR FIRST TIME INSTALLING ROM.

    1. Flashing stock ROM / unlock bootloader (If applicable):
    1. Follow these instructions: https://developers.google.com/android/images#crosshatch
    2. Boot the stock ROM.
    3. Don't setup any google account, don't add a screen lock. Just go to Settings > System > Developer options. Enable OEM unlocking.
    4. You need to follow this guide to unlock your bootloader.
    2. There are now two options for the installation. Either via TWRP (you are required to remove the screen lock) or via Sideload (for advanced users).

    A. Flashing PixelDust ROM via TWRP:

    1. Important: Before you begin, remove the screen lock (password/PIN/pattern) or change to "Swipe". Go to Settings > Security >Screen lock.
    2. Download the ROM and both TWRP files (img + zip) (for download links see above).
    3. Boot fastboot mode.
    4. Connect the phone to the Computer with USB cord.
    5. Copy twrp-3.6.0_11-0_CPTB-20211219-01-crosshatch.img to the platform-tools folder or folder that has fastboot in it and rename it twrp.img.
    6. Open a Command Prompt.
    7. At the Command Prompt type and press enter.
      Code:
       fastboot boot twrp.img
    8. If requested, swipe to allow modifications.
    9. Tap "Wipe", then tap "Format data" and type yes to continue.
    10. Copy the rom zip and twrp-installer-3.6.0_11-0_CPTB-20211219-01-crosshatch.zip to your device.
    11. Tap "Install", select the rom zip, tap "Add more Zips", select the twrp-installer.zip and Swipe Slider to install.
    12. When install is successful tap on "Reboot", then tap on the first list item "System".

    B. Flashing PixelDust ROM via sideload:

    1. Download the ROM and boot image (for download links see above)
    2. Boot fastboot mode
    3. Connect the phone to the Computer with USB cord.
    4. Flash the boot image (this allows stock recovery to flash unsigned rom zip)
      Code:
      fastboot flash boot boot_caf_xxx.img
    5. Wipe userdata (required for first PixelDust/Android 12 install)
      Code:
      fastboot erase userdata
    6. Reboot into fastbootd
      Code:
      fastboot reboot fastboot
    7. Use volume keys and power button to select "Enter Recovery"
    8. Select "Apply Update from ADB"
    9. Sideload the ROM zip
      Code:
      adb sideload PixelDust-SaltedCaramel-caf-crosshatch-user-20220107-2246.zip
    10. Reboot

Dirty flashing PixelDust ROM (coming from Android 12):
Just skip the step "Format data" / "Wipe userdata"

Thank you for your work! Great rom, but the back gesture usually don't do anything. And when I use icon packs their shape on the main screen is always the same and can't be change.

    1. Back gesture
Pls check whether you have enabled the option "Accidental touch". This could interfere with the back gesture.

    2. Icon pack
It is likely that the icon pack has a problem or isn't compatible with Android 10. I have installed this pack and it works like a charm: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arandompackage.flatconsblack
