I just Installed PortonAOSP and the 5G network is not activated. I thought that if I use a custom ROM I could finally bypass Google restrication over the support of 5G network.

Is there anyway that I could bypass the restrication other than ROOT my Pixel?

I have question...
Should I relock the bootloader after I successfully installed PortonAOSP?

Yeah but using magisk means you cant lock the bootloader
I don't think you should lock the bootloader when you have a custom rom installed because if something happens you might not be able to rescue your phone and the only way to update the rom would be to unlock the bootloader again and that causes an automatic factory reset unless kdrag0n has been able to find away to update his rom with a locked bootloader.

GrapheneOS can do it. Difference is they have OTA updates

Niche question, but does the rom enable users to change the color calibration of the display? Just got my display replaced and the new one has a distinct green hue. Can't seem to change display color calibration beyond the default profiles in stock android, wondering if a custom rom will afford me this feature. Cheers!

I'm pretty sure ProtonAOSP lets you play with the RGB calibration of the display.

Can confirm that ProtonAOSP has RGB adjustment in the settings. (Unrelated---does anybody know what the difference is between the stock color profiles? Cant seem to find a description about which values are being changed)

However, Clean Slate Kernel affords additional gamma correction features which I need. I just had my display replaced, and the new panel has a green shift and color banding in the lows.

For anyone else considering Clean Slate Kernel, it was simple to install and no data wipe was needed.

Thanks again @badaas and @redsmith

Does this rom have any additional theming options outside of what is provided with stock?

How is this done? I'm a bit afraid it'll go wrong and mess up my data..
Use Google's Android Flash tool and uncheck the wipe data.

    ProtonAOSP
    Android 11 ROM

ProtonAOSP is a minimal Android fork (custom ROM) focused on UI/UX and performance, with a touch of privacy.

Usage with my Proton Kernel is recommended to get the most out of your phone. The ROM does not include Proton Kernel, so you will need to flash it yourself. The ROM will still work with other kernels, but you will not get the benefits of Proton Kernel.

    Installation
This ROM is currently distributed as factory images, similar to stock. Flash it the same way you would flash stock factory images. Don't forget to wipe all data using "fastboot -w" before booting the ROM.

Firmware is included, so there is no specific requirement for which version of the stock ROM you are coming from.

You can also use the quick & easy web installer, which allows you to install and update the ROM from any computer or phone without using the command line. The installer works entirely within your web browser and completes in as little as 4 minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection. Consider using the web installer instead of installing manually.

Builds with and without minimal Google services (gapps) included are provided for convenience.

Using the quick and easy web installer is recommended unless you have a specific reason to download and install the ROM manually.

A new ROM with the January security update and SafetyNet passing out-of-the-box will be released within a few days. The SafetyNet failures are caused by new updates released by Google yesterday. My new Universal SafetyNet Fix Magisk module solves the problem for now: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-module-universal-safetynet-fix-1-1-0.4217823/
