Nevermind I was mistaken, its the same one, using magisk just requires a module for compatibility

I'd say it would beneficial to link them the actual thread for updates and support

https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
True but I got it from the actual ARISE website and had to dig through many zips to find one that worked. Never been on the XDA thread. Thanks

Thanks so much for this. Is it just as simple as flashing this file in TWRP and rebooting? Any knows problems you are aware of?
Do you turn off Kernel sounds mods such as digital gain and high performance audio in EX kernel when using this? Are you happy with the results

I used it for a few weeks. Installations is dead simple. Just use an xml editor (I used xml notepad on Windows) to chose what you want, and copy the whole folder to your phone. I started small with only the core module, V4a, and Atmos marked to install. Flash in TWRP. Done! Anytime you update your rom you'll have to flash it again.

Thanks. So the XML editor is needed to remove modules? Which file needs to be edited?

I'm not on the newest bootloader, but all I had to do was flash

I am still having apps randomly close again. I might try a whole new fresh flash on Sunday. I should be home all day. Hopefully I have the steps all in order. I also seem to lag for some reason. Not sure what that is from but there is a slight hesitation when I swipe screen or press a button. It's not as smooth as it was before.

The XML editor is needed to add modules which is done by adding "true" next to the module(s) desired. The file is in a customize.prop folder (or similarly named - don't quote me, I'm away from my computer!). You get to build your own setup. Pretty cool! The instructions are also very well done. I'd check out the arise thread on XDA. It's a lot to read, but worth it.

Missing Something

I just used the newest factory image for Pixel XL unlocked version, 7.1.2 (NJH47B, Jun 2017), and after going through all the steps, I get a phone that Magisk works perfectly on, safety net, root and all. However, HD calling isn't working, even though the toggle can be moved back and forth. The LTE+ also doesn't show up now. What's the problem? I see that there is a very recent Verizon factory image. Should I use it instead? Thanks!

Ok guys, I've been reading up all I can but I'm a little confused about this slot thing in TWRP. I think I have all needed files downloaded and I know how to fastboot into TWRP and flash the zip. But I was wondering if someone could please post the steps for me to get this running right? I'm on a fresh install of the latest firmware. Thanks for the help

Can someone give me step my step instructions for flashing this ROM the amount of confusion has just got out of hand.

So from what I understand:
Factory reset
Flash ROM
Flash Twrp
Flash Vendor

Reboot go through set up and reboot recovery:

Flash root/Magisk:
Flash Custom kernel:
Flash Recovery
Reboot and profit?

Some things I want to clarify I'm on June update so June bootloader so that means I don't have to mess with Boot Signer correct? Also is it recommend to flash-all to get rid of everything or a simple factory reset on recovery will suffice to boot up the ROM.

For the cleanest install with a clean flash and factory images:

Clean-flashing Google Stock Images on BOTH slots:

Check Fastboot connectivity with fastboot devices
fastboot --set-active=a
Flash-all.bat
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot --set-active=b
Flash-all.bat
adb reboot bootloader

Make sure to Copy ROM, SuperSU, Kernel.zip, TWRP.zip and other MISC zip to Internal storage

Installing TWRP
fastboot boot path/to/twrp.img
Flash TWRP.zip after TWRP starts

Flashing ROM
Swipe to Factory reset in TWRP ( an extra step )
Flash Pure Nexus.zip
Flash TWRP.zip
Reboot System and let the ROM boot up

Flashing SU, Kernel etc

Reboot to Recovery
Flash SU 2.82
Reboot to system
Reboot to Recovery
Flash EX or any other Kernel
Flash any other Zip
Reboot system

You can also set up a dual boot on the other slot if needed to have a dual setup.

When you say flash SU 2.82, shouldn't that depend on which twrp your on? For instance, isn't 2.79 better on rc1 and 2.83 or 2.82 for rc2?

Positive update story: (zero issues)
Coming from May build with April bootloader and may radio.
1. Fastboot flash June bootloader (this goes to active slot), reboot bootloader.
2. Fastboot flash bootloader_a (my inactive slot)
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with June radio.
4. Boot into system then reboot recovery.
5. Dirty flash (just wipe cache then install rom)
6. Flash TWRP again and reboot system. Reboot recovery.
7. Flash vendor image, magisk, then TWRP again. Boot into system.
8. Profit from a 15 minute update (depending on download speeds)
Confirmed no need for VBS on June bootloader. (I've never flashed a VBS on this device as I kept April BL.) IMO the flash_all route is a little excessive...

Worked perfectly for me.

Might be a stupid question but can Magisk And SU be used at the same time. I have tryed to install Magisk but never had luck. If there is a better way to install this I would really like to know.

That is correct. Since I don't use Magdisk ( I have a dual partition with one un-rooted) I use Twrp rc2 and the latest stable release of SuperSU. But yes, 2.79 probably is more stable on RC1, although I can't imagine having problems with 2.82 as well.

I'm using the Weta version found in the Pixel XL Themes and Apps section. You will have to flash TWRP RC1 first and reboot to recovery prior to flashing since it won't install on RC2.

Hi Folks - does anyone use Viper4audio or ARISE with this ROM? If so, which version are you guys using and any issues? Is it as simple as flashing in TWRP and rebooting? I'm trying to see what I can do to improve the headphone sound quality in the pixel XL.

figured id jump in and let you guys know i am back, its been a pretty rough half a year but i have finally got some time to start tinkering again im sure some of you have noticed some movement on github, i seem to have a good base going and now i am just working on device specific things :highfive::good: to start i will only be supporting the phones i own Angler, Pixel/XL, and Pixel 2 XL :victory: hopefully once i get these devices stable i can put out a build, granted the first build will most likely be barebones it will however have the stability you all have come to love from Pure
    74
    Installation Instructions:
    1. make sure you are on the latest bootloader, radio, vendor image
    2. install twrp via the instructions in twrp forum
    3. wipe data factory reset
    4. flash rom
    5. flash twrp zip again as the rom overwrites twrp (stupid pixel lol)
    6. if you desire boot into the os, then reboot into recovery and flash supersu

Note: i personally havent flashed supersu yet on the pixel so if you dont know ask and im sure one of the helpful members will help guide you through it!!
Note2: until we figure out how to flash zips alongside the rom zip gapps are included for the time being..

Okay guys the time is here, finally 7.1.2 for purenexus officially released!!!

    a couple things to note:
*the rom is now signed with private keys starting with 7.1.2 this is good for security purposes, but you will be required to clean flash this build, going forward you can dirty flash as long as it is an official release
*this release mostly is focused on stability and getting all the features from 7.1.1 into 7.1.2 without issues, next release will be geared towards going over the feature request section of the g+ community
*with 7.1.2 google updated the radio and boot loader i suggest fast-booting those as well

ok, Lets get to the goodies!!
