Has anyone had trouble recently with sending and receiving txt messages? Lately I've been having to toggle airplane mode, or reboot inorder to get txt working again. I didn't have this problem on the previous version of PN, and I've restored to stock and re-flashed many times now. Nothing seems to fix it. I'm thinking it might be messing up when I'm switching WiFi networks throughout the day, since I'm in and out of different buildings on a college campus. My carrier is vzw, and my pixel is straight from Google.

I am having this problem as well. I usually don't realize I have a problem until I try to send a text and it fails. A reboot starts it working again. I too am switching WiFi networks throughout the day.
I tried a clean reinstall of PN without any additional apps and that did not help.

It would be interesting to see how many others have this recent issues. FYI, I'm on vsw too.

Update: yesterday I switched my cellular network from global to CDMA/LTE and this is the first day I have not had a problem. Not sure if it is coincidence. I will keep you updated.

I had this problem (VZW also). Try clearing all data for the messaging app. That did it for me.

You can also use "other" in place of "all" to flash the non active slot.

Just a quick update on this, I finally got the chance to try it today, and I don't know if it worked (the flash-all with "--slot all" added).

I didn't see the slots change anywhere in my command prompt, or on the bootloader screen on my device, so if I had to guess, I don't think it worked. Here is a pastebin of the output, just for your reference/curiosity :

https://pastebin.com/dT6QNYS3

I'm not too bothered by this, as I don't mind rebooting, switching slots, and then using flash-all again, but just thought I'd share my results/experience for you/anyone else who is curious about this!

I don't know if that command works with the flash all script/bat. I say this because it's a switch for the fastboot command. And while there are switches you can use for flash all all of them aren't interchangeable.

After reading and keeping up with the thread, I hope the next pixel isn't this complicated

Yeah tell me about it. I've been exploring other ROMs the last few days or so, and yesterday I tried a ROM that had no GApps. Flashed it and everything went well. There was a new build available for that ROM, I tried dirty flashing and ended up with Google Play services crashing every 5 seconds, no phone app, and all Google apps crashing as soon as they are opened.

I didn't know I had to reflash GApps on a dirty flash as well, so I did that, still no luck. Fast forward to now, and I'm back on painless PN lol

I have an off-topic question regarding WhatsApp/Titanium Backup.

I use TiBackup to backup a lot of apps, with the exception of WhatsApp, because I would still get prompted to enter in a verification code sent via SMS.

Recently, I've been trying out other ROMs out of curiosity, just to see what else is out there, and so I've been reinstalling WhatsApp a handful of times. And then it happened: I got locked out of my account for a couple of hours, for verifying the same number too many times within a short period of time.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to either use TiBackup in a way where a verification code won't be needed upon restore, or if there is another way to backup and restore WhatsApp without needing to enter in a verification code. From what I've Googled, seems like a way to make this work is to not only backup with TiBackup, but also backup sdcard/WhatsApp, and ensure Google Drive is on the device and enabled. If anyone can confirm these extra steps would do the trick, it would be much appreciated!

I'm afraid of potentially being locked out of my account for even longer than a couple of hours - many thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some insight on this! :)
Have you tried restoring the Android ID within within tibu from the mouse recent backup before opening the app for the first time. That's how I keep from running up my list of devices activated on Google play music within a year.

Anybody have issues with vibration? I don't seem to get vibrate notifications when the phone is ringing or texts. I have checked all settings and it is enabled

No I have not, I actually didn't even know such a feature existed within TiBackup. If you don't mind, could you briefly explain how to do this? I'd be very grateful! If this method ends up working for me, you will have saved me from dealing with the entire inconvenient process of waiting hours to verify my phone number:victory:

You have to backup Settings Storage (or a complete backup will certainly do it) in tibu while on your old rom. Then after you flash your new rom and make sure tibu can see your backups, you go to Menu and hit "Manage Android ID..." and "Restore Android ID from a backup" and you should be able to find your recent backup. After restoring it you have to reboot for it to take effect and next time you open tibu it'll ask if you want to keep the new ID. This might keep some apps from recognizing that it's a new phone (rom).

? I have had (and still have) safety net and Android pay working fine. For half of one day last week it was messed up but the fix was really easy. So not sure why you would not have it.

Enlighten me! The Rom hasn't yet been updated and I'm running Magisk 12.0. I tried 13, 13 - 10, 13.2, etc and none of that helped. What do I need to do? Much appreciated!

Search this thread and find the link for the version 12 that is modified specially for Pixel, no other version works with the pixel that I know. Then find the links about removing the props.

figured id jump in and let you guys know i am back, its been a pretty rough half a year but i have finally got some time to start tinkering again im sure some of you have noticed some movement on github, i seem to have a good base going and now i am just working on device specific things :highfive::good: to start i will only be supporting the phones i own Angler, Pixel/XL, and Pixel 2 XL :victory: hopefully once i get these devices stable i can put out a build, granted the first build will most likely be barebones it will however have the stability you all have come to love from Pure
    74
    Installation Instructions:
    1. make sure you are on the latest bootloader, radio, vendor image
    2. install twrp via the instructions in twrp forum
    3. wipe data factory reset
    4. flash rom
    5. flash twrp zip again as the rom overwrites twrp (stupid pixel lol)
    6. if you desire boot into the os, then reboot into recovery and flash supersu

Note: i personally havent flashed supersu yet on the pixel so if you dont know ask and im sure one of the helpful members will help guide you through it!!
Note2: until we figure out how to flash zips alongside the rom zip gapps are included for the time being..

Okay guys the time is here, finally 7.1.2 for purenexus officially released!!!

    a couple things to note:
*the rom is now signed with private keys starting with 7.1.2 this is good for security purposes, but you will be required to clean flash this build, going forward you can dirty flash as long as it is an official release
*this release mostly is focused on stability and getting all the features from 7.1.1 into 7.1.2 without issues, next release will be geared towards going over the feature request section of the g+ community
*with 7.1.2 google updated the radio and boot loader i suggest fast-booting those as well

ok, Lets get to the goodies!!
