I'm on Benzo but keep watching for this one to go to 8.0. Benzo on January update with no themes works fine for me. I haven't tried his latest update because people keep reporting issues.

which of the benzo works well because the last one gives a lot of problems when installing substratum themes
I actually went to 8.1 for about a week, and then came right back to PN. Missed the added featured that this ROM has too much.
I'm running January build and it runs fine for me. I don't mess with themes.
Alright, I'm completely stumped. I had this ROM running perfectly with ElementalX (for that sweet lower brightness) and Magisk, then I went on an adventure with the 8.1 ROMs. Now I'm back because an app I use has bad audio issues for 8.1, but I can't get Magisk installed. I even followed the advice in the ElementalX thread about fastbooting TWRP, flashing the kernel and Magisk, then booting back into the system. I've done this like three times and have flashed numerous versions of Magisk. I just want to install Adaway and get the ElementalX app working without tripping safetynet.
Download the latest beta from magisk make sure this a .zip from and flash in recovery and reboot, then make sure you have the magisk manager app.
So I completely redid everything again. Flashed the last Nougat factory image, installed PureNexus, let it boot, went back to TWRP, flashed Magisk 15.4, and nothing. Installed Magisk Manager 5.6.0 and it just hangs on the splash screen.
Do you have a custom kernel you need a custom kernel for magisk to work
It wasn't working with ElementalX either. In the past I never needed to flash custom kernel to get Magisk working.
This is not correct. I'm on factory Oreo 8.1 January, rooted with Magisk. stock kernel.
Sorry, I forgot the last version is still 7.1.2, even though I'm also waiting for the update.

Yup was just gonna say this. Definitely wrong. Also on stock here with magisk working. Only thing is I cannot get it to pass safetynet together with xposed. If I enable the xposed module in magisk then xposed works but not SN. If I disable the module then no xposed but passes SN. Root works no matter what though. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get them to work together?? Thanks in advance!!

It's not possible. Xposed modifies zygote. Until Xposed doesn't do anything to zygote, which I don't even think is possible, you will never pass SafetyNet with Xposed running.
I am. I've been out of the loop dealing with these pixel phones. I'm guessing OP quit or has real life issues at the moment.

Last Updated 2017-07-26104figured id jump in and let you guys know i am back, its been a pretty rough half a year but i have finally got some time to start tinkering again im sure some of you have noticed some movement on github, i seem to have a good base going and now i am just working on device specific things :highfive::good: to start i will only be supporting the phones i own Angler, Pixel/XL, and Pixel 2 XL :victory: hopefully once i get these devices stable i can put out a build, granted the first build will most likely be barebones it will however have the stability you all have come to love from Pure
74Installation Instructions:
1. make sure you are on the latest bootloader, radio, vendor image
2. install twrp via the instructions in twrp forum
3. wipe data factory reset
4. flash rom
5. flash twrp zip again as the rom overwrites twrp (stupid pixel lol)
6. if you desire boot into the os, then reboot into recovery and flash supersu
Note: i personally havent flashed supersu yet on the pixel so if you dont know ask and im sure one of the helpful members will help guide you through it!!
Note2: until we figure out how to flash zips alongside the rom zip gapps are included for the time being..69Okay guys the time is here, finally 7.1.2 for purenexus officially released!!!
a couple things to note:
*the rom is now signed with private keys starting with 7.1.2 this is good for security purposes, but you will be required to clean flash this build, going forward you can dirty flash as long as it is an official release
*this release mostly is focused on stability and getting all the features from 7.1.1 into 7.1.2 without issues, next release will be geared towards going over the feature request section of the g+ community
*with 7.1.2 google updated the radio and boot loader i suggest fast-booting those as well
