What?? Go from Android TV to Amazon's pseudo-Android ecosystem? That's like going from prime rib to—I don’t know—weird brother of prime rib.I say everyone should just give up on ouya and buy a fire TV.
Well I wouldn't hold my breathe. I was hoping for big things for the ouya as well but every developer working on it has abandoned it for one reason or another. Like I said shut down the sub forum and stop giving false hope to those still praying for something.OUYA isn't any more android than fire TV is, as far as I believe, at least.
OUYA has their own launcher. FireTV has their own launcher. Both will load (almost) any app. It's a bit easier (though not EASY) to side-load the play-store onto the OUYA (not even sure if it's possible on the Fire TV). But at the end of th eday, I have to say, even though I have an Ouya in both my Den, and my Living Room (the "big" screens in the house), my Fire TV in my bedroom runs Kodi way better........ and hoenstly, that's what I use both devices for more than anything else. Streaming my media to those TVs/rooms. And while I had (and i guess maybe still do, even though it's so old) high hopes for the Ouya, i'm much more impressed with the perforamance of the AFTV.
All that being said, i'd still LOVE to see vanilla Android TV on my Ouyas, if they were bug-free![]()
With Ouya signing with that Chinese company (can not remember the name) for 10 million dollars I think we can expect more developer participation because the market has increased tremendously.Well I wouldn't hold my breathe. Not boot for me. Black screenI thought I would get the chance to test cm today but my laptop decided to die on me. I've been building it for 3 days now without boot and today I figured out the problem but I'm not sure if it boots if you want to test it here it is https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934544853 let me know how it goes.
Comments like these are not necessary, thankyou. This thing is dead. I'm getting rid of it. I'm better off just gaming on my tablet and using a newly purchased chromecast. I appreciate the attempts to develop roms for it though.
Quit stirring the pot! If there was news an update would have been posted. No update means nothing new, stop beating a dead horseAny news on this?

Ok... What does that have to do with the ouya?Don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but the v5.1.1 factory images were posted for the 2012 (and 2013) Nexus 7's yesterday

It's basically a 2012 N7 wrapped in different plastic - so newer builds are *very* relevant to anybody trying to get regular Android running on the OUYA... Which is exactly what this thread is for.Ok... What does that have to do with the ouya?
Doesn't matter - this project is still dead. Stop posting! It's basically a 2012 N7 wrapped in different plastic - so newer builds are *very* relevant to anybody trying to get regular Android running on the OUYA... Which is exactly what this thread is for.
While the OP may have abandoned the project, it looks like at least one person (Unjustified Dev) is still semi-working on things as he/she has time. I wouldn't say it's dead yet....Doesn't matter - this project is still dead. Stop posting!
That's because you're too optimistic to see the truth. Sadly the ouya is a failure and no one wants to develop for a failed deviceWhile the OP may have abandoned the project, it looks like at least one person (Unjustified Dev) is still semi-working on things as he/she has time.
