This is english only! (You have been warned...!)
This is a port of my following Rom: Click...
A few months back I created this ROM for my personal use.
This is plain CM 7.2, with a lot of useless stuff removed. (More about that further down). This is for everybody who does not fancy cutting edge looks, but rather looks for something that is 100% (And i mean 100%...) working, without any reboots, or fc's...

What did you remove?
  • Unused icons from every single apk (There was a lot of hdpi and not used mdpi content)
  • Useless preferences for our device (Trackball, flashlight, you name it...). Some of it only from the UI, with others I managed to remove them completly from the .apk. Others were just too deeply integrated.
  • Unused binarys (/bin /xbin)
  • All Languages except english
  • Fallback Fonts
  • Help files & Information texts
  • Unused libraries (/lib)
  • Ringtones / Alarms / Notifications (Doesn't everybody use their own anyway?)
  • All TTS files except english
  • Stupid things from build.prop
  • APK's: AndroidTerm ; CMStats ; CMUpdateNotify ; CMWallpapers ; Development ; DSPManager ; Email ; HTMLViewer ; Livewallpapers ; LivewallpapersPicker ; MagicSmokeWallpapers ; Pacman ; Protips ; QuickSearchBox ; RomManager ; SamsungServiceMode ; SoundRecorder ; VisualizationWallpapers ; VoiceDialer
What did you change/include?
What Apps did you mod?
  • Browser: Cleaned up menu
  • Camera: Cleaned up the settings
  • CMParts: Cleaned up most settings, removed useless options
  • Contacts: Removed useless options
  • Deskclock: Resized
  • FM: Enable radio without headset (reception might be bad)
  • Deskclock: Resized / Removed options
  • Phone: Removed useless options
  • Settings: Removed useless options
  • SpareParts: Removed useless options / Integrated into CMParts
  • All Apk's have shorter texts / Info fields removed (E.g. Perfomance/Accessibility nag windows) / Blank help pictures / ...
Every single apk and jar file has been decompiled and stripped of all the useless things I could find. Also everything is recompiled using OptiPng and of course Zipalign.
What about the kernel?!
  • Stock Kernel with a modified ramdisk
  • Readahead values reworked to 4kb on /data /system /cache & 64kb on sdcard
  • Changed TCP buffers to stock values of:
  • Code:
    setprop net.tcp.buffersize.default 4096,87380,196608,4096,16384,110208
    setprop net.tcp.buffersize.wifi 4095,87380,393216,4096,16384,110208
    setprop net.tcp.buffersize.umts 4094,87380,196608,4096,16384,110208
    setprop net.tcp.buffersize.edge 4093,26280,35040,4096,16384,35040
    setprop net.tcp.buffersize.gprs 4092,8760,11680,4096,8760,11680
  • Changed minfree to stock values
  • Removed Bootsplash
  • Clean up of obsolete entries
What is there to bear in mind?
  • One bug is left (Present in each and every single CM 7.2): Turning off WiFi-Tethering via notification panel might sometimes not actually turn it off. Go to Settings/Wireless&Networks/Tethering & portable Hotspot/Portable WiFi hotspot settings and turn it off from there.
  • Do not apply any pathetic build.prop tweaks... If they are so good, why didn't your manufacture include them? (They are not stupid...) Click...
  • Do not apply any of those awesome MakeMyDeviceFly.zip's
  • Since I do not own this device, I need your feedback, what works and what doesn't.

Flashing Procedure:
  • Wipe data/factory reset
  • Flash Rom
  • Reboot to system
  • If Home button does not work, reboot again

Thanks to all these guys
This Rom is based on cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY, which is the last official build of CM 7.2 for this device.

What can you change?

Flashable addons requested by users
Still not happy?

Your Rom sucks! It is bloated!
  • If you still want to remove more, go ahead, you can savely remove all these apps. (For a fully functional phone you would need alternatives for some)
  • Browser.apk (Removes the stock browser app)
  • Calculator.apk (Removes the stock calculator app)
  • Calender.apk (Removes the stock Calender app)
  • CalenderProvider.apk (Stops all calenders from working & gives a FC in settings/CyanogenMod settings/Lockscreen/Widget options)
  • GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (Removes Calendar Sync)
  • Camera.apk (Removes the stock camera app)
  • CMScreenshot.apk (Removes the ability to take Screenshots)
  • Contacts.apk (Removes the stock Contacts app)

@Wooaarr
I am enjoying this ROM. It is very smooth.

However you should not say "100% (And i mean 100%...) working, without any reboots, or fc's..."

I consistently FC on (process com.cyanogemmod.cmparts) Cyanogen Mod Settings -> Notification power widget -> Widget buttons -> Brightness Modes. So Brightness modes is not working for me.

I will continue to test and give feedback.

Check the change log :)

It was some weird behavior some got, while others did not.

Updated this again, sorry for the frequency, but scavenging the source I just occasionally see something I do not really like...

You can find screen-shots here... :)

I'm not sure if I add anything fancy to the Rom, as it somehow defeats the purpose I made this for. A simple and plain working solution for someone who does not like to switch Roms every week.

@Wooaarr
U said in OP that u reworked sdcard read ahead speed. Pls. also tell me...does it affect my sdcard life span? What's the default speed?:sly: I'm sure that changing read/write speed might increase performance but at the same time, degrades sdcard's life span. This is what bothering me the most.:( Pls answer my question & I'll str8away download ur rom. Pls. help me...:)
Sry if I asked silly question:p

To use your own ringtones, notifications and alarms, simply create a folder media/audio/ringtones on your sdcard and drop your ringtones in there.
For alarms it would be media/audio/alarms
For notifications it would be media/audio/notifications
Or you create this file structure under /system

Pls. also tell me...does it affect my sdcard life span? What's the default speed?:sly: I'm sure that changing read/write speed might increase performance but at the same time, degrades sdcard's life span.
It will actually increase the life span, as I lowered the read ahead values. Now your card will perform worse in a benchmark, but way better in real life usage. If you want to read a bit more about it, go over here.
