I feel your paid I went through the same thing waiting FOREVER for them to release but im glad I switched to the s4 teamYea I never got to run MIUI with my Note 2. The Dev would reply a few times a month saying it would be out for whatever reason didn't.

You sir, may have just rescued this rom. Thank you.For anyone who is having issues with it either force closing continuously or not booting on first boot, here's what i did.
Step one: Download a new copy of the miui rom and gapps (preferably on computer). It could easily be a bad download.
Step two: Make a nandroid backup of original and also backup apps(to external sd card).
Step three: Go here and download one of the four mdc stock files. Personally I used rooted restore.exe
Step four: Extract the file, you should get something called odin oc. Just use it like you would use odin.
Step five: Setup the phone up which should now be on rooted stock and wait for mdl update (or force it to download by going into app manager, google framework services, force stopping and clearing, and finally check for samsung updates)
Step Six: Download APN backup and restore along with system app mover. Move apn backup and restore to your system/app using system app mover and your phone should ask to reboot. Do it.
Step Seven: Go into APN Backup. Assuming your data is working, make a backup file. To do so click settings and press don't check for ics. Then press backup APN. Finally move that backup file to your EXTERNAL SDCARD (It should be automatically on your internal
sdcard)
Step Eight: Move the Miui rom file and gapps from step two to the sdcard of your phone.
Step Nine: Boot into download mode and install the recovery of your choice through odin and a tar file.
Step Ten: Boot into recovery and WIPE EVERYTHING. Regular Wipe. Format/Data Wipe. Even advanced wipe (CHECK EVERY BOX EXCEPT MICROSD AND USB OTG)
Step Eleven: Install only the rom itself. Boot it up. Make sure it loads. Once you do so reboot back into recovery.
Step Twelve: Install Gapps. Boot it up. Make sure everything is still working.
Step Thirteen:After Completing the setup download apn setting and restore as well as system app mover. Make it a system app. Mover your apn settings folder back to where it was before on your internal sd card. Reboot.
Step Fourteen: Restore APN Settings. You should now be running a completely clean, data working version of MIUI with gaps. You now just have to reinstall your apps from your original backup and enjoy.
Hmm...may have spoken too soon. I posted this before trying apn restore which now is seeming to be troublesome for me. I will trouble shoot and update when i figure it out.You sir, may have just rescued this rom. Thank you.
I could probably get this to work but when I restore apn, it still doesn't have signalHmm...may have spoken too soon. I posted this before trying apn restore which now is seeming to be troublesome for me. I will trouble shoot and update when i figure it out.
yeah that's my issue too, it seems like its either an issue with the backup (being on a stock touchwiz rom) or something to do with miui. I am going to try going to cyanogen mod, getting a signal, and backing up apn there, coming back to miui and restoring that. If that works Ill post the apn for everyone to useI could probably get this to work but when I restore apn, it still doesn't have signal![]()
I've had this exact issue with any i9505 rom. Maybe because they are gsm and we have cdma... I'm sure it can be done but probably more than a simple backup and restore.yeah that's my issue too, it seems like its either an issue with the backup (being on a stock touchwiz rom) or something to do with miui. Do you think you could edit it for us please? I really suck with apktool lolFor data you have to add your RIL class into telephony-common.jar in phonefactory.smali

Well right now, as long as you do a completely clean install (from stock) it is completely bugless as to force closes. However, data is the one issue that the op is still working on.Of the 11 Android phones that I've used in the past 3 years, only 3 have had totally working, stable MIUI builds. Those were my OG Droid, Droid Incredible, and Fascinate back when I was on Verizon, and I used MIUI on those phones extensively. For every other phone I've owned, the XDA forums were filled with people who love MIUI and were trying to make do with buggy, unstable builds that FC'd all the time and/or just plain didn't work. It's amazing to me that MIUI is seemingly so difficult to port/build for different devices. Based on what I've read so far in this thread, I'm really hopeful that the GS4 will be the device to break my MIUI-less streak.
MHousos, thanks a ton for your hard work!

That's exactly why I'm excited for MIUI on this phone. Once data is fixed, it sounds like it'll pretty much be good to go.Well right now, as long as you do a completely clean install (from stock) it is completely bugless as to force closes. that's great as long as you can live withOUT 4g lte. I doubt we can ever get that working right , but its sprint so its not like its that great anywayThat's exactly why I'm excited for MIUI on this phone. Once data is fixed, it sounds like it'll pretty much be good to go.
