If you only need the Gmail app to read the mail, then you don't really need the app. The normal email app can use gmail accounts perfectly fine. The standard settings uses encrypted IMAP so you don't need to set up the account manually.

Notice:

Google stores user created subfolders under [Gmail]. Normal IMAP accounts usually store them under Inbox.

Great news!

I just want to make it clear. If I decide to release, it is very very very very experimental. I have been trying to figure out the GPS/3G issue as well.
I am having it tested soon. I'll report back ASAP.
Maybe it's too much to ask, but if the cam is not stable, is it possible to release a version with the old cam, but including all the other new fixes/improvements?

Yeah well, camcorder is working. I THINK I've solved the 3G/GPS issue. I haven't done anything regarding the audio. But c'mon, it's fairly easy for you guys to fix it :) "Volume up/Down" and you're home :)

Edit: The tearing is still there. But just restart the camera as before and it should be gone.

Editing the build.prop resulted in high cpu load (nearly always at or near by 100%), clocking often switching up and down.

As I restored the original build.prop, everything was fine again and cpu load switched between 5 and 100% according to usage.

BTW I didn't realise any more battery drain, but I think a constant cpu load near 100% doesn't stand for long lasting hardware

Strange, mine's working sweet on "interactive"... I've made few other performance tweaks aswell though, craaaaazy fast :p

I probably don't need to update since I haven't had any of the above issues, it's fast, and videocam illusion works well, but I have a flashing addiction unfortunately...

A fart? :F

Anyways, Nadir reported 3G/GPS working. So hopefully this is it =)
I think the 3G/GPS have something to do with the APN settings. When I first installed P10, my phone would lose 3G connection after GPS activation, like when opening Google Maps, and then reconnect a few seconds later. Then I played around with my APN settings; in particular, I set the APN type to "default" (i.e. removed "mms" and "supl") and my 3G/GPS have ceased.

Caveat: I'm on elk's CM10.

Well, I'll release and we'll see. I just tinkered with the gps module, hopefully this will do. Nadir confirms he can get a lock and use the GPS while using 3G :)

I can confirm this. Works perfectly on p10... great workaround until p11/a1 comes out!
