Hello all asking for some advice. I've primarily moved away from stock rom as it was sluggish opening Spotify and Maps took too long. I've found the Lite ROM here is better and I'm wondering whether this is the same in the Full (paid) version of the ROM. Just don't want to waste the money only to have the system slowed to a crawl again. Anyone with experience would be much appreciated:)

The full version is very nice, has a lot of nice features, full root acces, is very costumizable and the most important, you get OTA updates. The present version has a few bugs, but I'm sure they will all be fixed soon, with the next update.

Thanks for the response bought it last night. Only complaint is there is all these cool launchers with nice looking shortcuts, but I can't change what the shortcut opens. For example, I've set SMT32 as my default launcher but the music button only opens the music app which I can't change (I use Spotify). Would it be possible to change this somehow?

Thanks for the effort on putting together this ROM!
What's not clear to me is: will the stock ROM still be available when doing a factory reset or will the reset be applied to the custom ROM?
I've got a Eonon GA9463 for my Mazda and Eonon will not provide me with the original firmware.

They pulled the same thing on me. Where did you buy it from?
I bought from Amazon AU, attempted to contact Eonon support off of their website and was told they wont give me firmware try the amazon seller email (which is official Eonon too) and they happily gave it to me.

Bought it off their own shop website, eonon.com. The info that they can't provide the firmware came from their own e-mail support.
Do you have the Mazda unit (PX30) as well? Were you provided with the firmware file itself or a download link? If it's a link maybe there are other firmware files available in the directories... :)

You're in luck. Here's the email I got from them with all the links, looks like they're still active:

I want to write to everyone just for information, so to speak, for information :)
The update server always contains an updated version of the firmware, so to speak, a transitional one, where fixes - additions are gradually accumulated for the next online update.
If, for example, someone needs to reset the settings to the factory settings, then I recommend installing the LITE version of the firmware again and updating again to the Full version.
For example, updates are now accumulated, unlike version 1.1.6:
UPD : 09/02/2021
- Magisk updated to the latest version 21.4
- Manager Magisk to the latest version 8.0.7
- In Launcher Mal Dark, the buttons on the left and right panels have been slightly redone.
immediately open the access point settings.
open a third-party dialer
open MTCDialer for voice calling
- Fixed Screen Lock
- Fixed crash of the screensaver if it could not receive weather data from the provider. (if you installed it from an OEM application, you need to update it again after updating the firmware)
UPD : 12/02/2021
- Android base from 09/2/2020
- Fixed Easy Connect
- In Mod Settings - MOD Settings - System Settings - Pop-up Notification Settings - new settings have been added:
1. Enable display of album covers (picture)
2. Covers display size in px (pixels) - from 10 px to 100 px (see screenshots)
- Fixed autostart Nav Radio + after sleep (it won't start from the background)
- Added French and Polish translation to Mod Settings (thanks to oxygen and XDA users)
- In the Bluetooth application the panel of incoming and outgoing calls has been changed.

Well, I wrote this to keep everyone in the know, all of this will of course be in the next update, when there will be a more voluminous accumulation of fixes and everyone will receive it automatically.
This applies to ALL PX5-PX6-PX30 units

I will try to add information about new fixes and additions in this post! (you can bookmark it :) )

The latest full version 1.1.6 works well. Thank you for the update. Can you please tell if you intend to fix some of the bugs of the base firmware? Like:
- the lower part of the touchscreen is unusable during calls;
- the bluetooth app has a delay when you try to initiate a phonecall, from the moment you select a contact to call and the moment the call is actually initiated;
It would be nice to have a proper canbus app with a proper park radar display image in full screen, for people that don' t have a reverse camera installed.

@Malaysk
Explain one thing to me ... Why is the top beam immediately shaded? Can it be done as in the original android 10? And why can't I edit system files myself? For example, I would like to replace the CanBus applications to have the image of my car, not the original one ...

IMPORTANT!! : You cannot change the firmware versions in the system partitions - System, Vendor, ODM and Product (this is due to the fact that in 10 android these sections are dynamic and protected by the android itself from changes)- otherwise you will have a BLACK SCREEN after reboot and you will have to go to RECOVERY and reinstall the firmware from there (you can without deleting the data).
Is there a way to disable/mark as read this message? I have only option to uninstall notification, but I am not sure if this app is doing other things than displaying this note.

A few bugs:

- I set the status bar as hidden, but after sleep sometimes it is still in sight, even if the setting is marked as hidden;
- The spotify app doesn't start after sleep, it worked better before the update. Moreover the green SHUFFLE button or the PLAY that are shown in a playlist don't work anymore.

Does anybody use a 4G/LTE dongle for online connectivity?
I installed the custom ROM because I'm having troubles with my HUAWEI dongle, but they're the same with the new ROM.
When I connect the dongle by default Easyconnection (EC) pops up and wants to connect something. I then have to close EC and reconnect the dongle, only then will it connect to the 4G network. Furthermore, when restarting the device from sleep it seems that EC is still in the background and blocks access to the dongle for the system.
It's possible to disable EC in the systems settings and that will work for some time. But after a few restarts from sleep It's activated again and blocks the 4G dongle again.
I installed the custom ROM in the hope that with root access I can uninstall EC or permanently disable it. But the two tools I tried cannot uninstall it.

I don't need Easyconnection because I don't need Carplay. And I don't want to manually reconnect the dongle everytime.
It would work perfectly and automatically of the damn Easyconnection wouldn't interfere all the time... :/

Any tips?

Also, in the latest paid version I installed yesterday in the Bluetooth phone app in the contacts section the rows were all had black backgrounds with black font, so it's not possible to see the contact's names. Only when I tap a row to scroll it became visible.
Anybody else having that problem?

EDIT: Regarding the 4G problem I've just discovered something.
There's different types of mobile broadband dongles. The one I used until now acts as a network device. So in Windows it's recognized as a virtual network adapter (LAN), the dongle assigns Windows a DHCP IP address and acts as a router/gateway.
But I also have another dongle available that acts as a WiFi hotspot. Thing is: it also does this when only receiving power via USB. So it doesn't even need to be connected to the Android headunit, I can just power it via a USB adapter from the 12V socket, the headunit will connect via WiFi, job done.
That doesn't really solve the problem above but it will be a good-enough workaround.
I'll keep you posted.

Yeah well, Easyconnection as well as other default apps ae enabled again after a cold boot, with the stock rom as well with Malaysk‘s :)

I took some pics of the design error in the bluetooth app. When the theme is set to bright (I don‘t like dark mode) the rows of contacs are black. It switches to white when it‘s tapped but get‘s black again when I scroll.
If it‘s set to dark mode there‘s no issue because then the text is white.
So basically there needs to be a design change adjusting the background colour of the contact rows according to the selected theme.
