Hello Hal9k, and thank you for this awesome mod.
My PX5 device is still on Android 8 using your first Mod_v3 from late 2018.
I want to update to Android 10 and Mod5, but -checking the requirements first I see that:
I have updated the MCU to MTCE_MX2_V3.56 on June 2020
Now I see that a newer (March 2021) MX version is available: MTCE_MX_V3.73
Is there any real difference between MX and MX2?
Is later release better, although not an MX2 version?
Sorry for the slight off-topic, but this is required by the first post, and I want to double check requirements before purchasing Mod_v5
Once again, thank you for your work and commitment to this project
I'm facing issues running the logcat -d command on terminal. The SD-968 Bluetooth module with firmware made in March 2017 or earlier works in Android 8, but does not work in Android 9.
How to find out that you have such a module: on the first page of the Factory settings, in the BT item, SD-968 is selected. The command logcat -d | grep wind_log, executed in the terminal immediately after rebooting the device, answers “verison: Mar 31 2017“.
A module with firmware made in August 2017 or later will work in Android 9 and 10.
OK so let me confirm myself: BC5 works OK on A10 / v5.00
Hi did you try to enable legacy mode? i didnt have sound via spotify (youtube music did work) until i didnt turn on legacy mode in viperfx. give it a try if you havent yetOK so let me confirm myself: BC5 works OK on A10 / v5.00
Issue: Viper4Android Autostart Service after Boot
I have only one issue so far: Viper4A does not automatically activate its service after booting the system. After a reboot, I have to open/close the V4A app to make the service work. The service used to come up automatically in v4 after adding it to the list of apps to not be closed at standby (yes I know, it still came up also after reboot). Not so with v5, sadly. In v5 it only comes back after resume from standby.
Any idea what to configure? To clarify, Viper4x as such works in v5 (although needs legacy mode on my PX5 MTCE) and also works after wakeup from standby (added it to the list of apps not to be stopped in apps manager). Only system boot is an issue now so am a bit puzzled. I've checked posts like this one in the Viper4A thread but they seem to only deal with getting processing enabled at all - in my case processing works in principle, just not after a reboot. And I don't want to spoil @Hal9k_ ' new mod by doing too many changes...
Apart from that: Did a clean install coming from the v4 (latest OTA). Seems all good, just need a new OTA code obviously
Yes legacy mode is enabled (else V4A is abnormal/inactive) and Spotify works OK with V4A in legacy mode. Make sure to not use the Spotify Equalizer on top of V4A as they interfere.
error: 21 means a damaged update.zip file
This is not the error that caused the OS to reboot.
Wait a bit. I need time to update the site.
One of the users informed me that the old SD-968 driver works on his device in Android 10.
Try increasing the Logger buffer sizes to 16M in the developer options.
Yes, this is not supported.
Write step by step how to reproduce it ?
Sounds like the problem I am facing after upgrading to v5 (Android 10). It stopped connecting to my Huawei 4G Dongle WiFi hotspot.Unfortunately I have this exact same issue
The upgrade went well from 9 to 10, so I paid for OTA updates. Everything seems fine
But now I can't connect to Iphone IOS 15 hotspot.
I can connect to all other wifi networks but to my hotspot it just says connecting..... then back to saved.
I don't know if there's any error logs I can look at but I might have to go back to Android 9 if I can't fix this - as I have no maps while driving without an internet connection
I have a dasaita px5, that does not happen to me with waze, what if it happens to me, that when changing from day mode to night mode, the bottom part where the search bar is does not change, it remains white, so It stays overnight in the middle, it didn't happen to me before, does this happen to you? What you say is happening to you, is it that it does not connect to any network? I say it because when there is no network that happens ..
Viper4android is already part of the ROM, what do you mean when you say "I have installed" - the driver? Does Viper4android show the status "processing"? It needs to, else it does not work. You will likely have to set it to legacy mode to make it work. And of course you need to configure the sound settings. It will be a huge difference (on proper HUs). Configuration is a bit complex, follow the links in this article to learn more. Do not however try and update viper4android, the bundled version works just fine, just needs to be configured. Don't overdo effects.
Disconnect your Cars battery for a few minutes and it will fix the GPS issuesome days ago i reported about the terrible GPS, but i gave it a try. Now since then it didnt go better, its worse then ever. The navigation fails and the Sat fix app says no satellites. (see attached foto)
I'm wondering about that there isnt only bad fix, there is no fix!
In A8 and A9 (Hal9k 4.x.x) everything was fine.
At this time, i'm using my phone for navigation, until next update, hopefully fixes that GPS bug.
My HU is a PX5, latest MCU (as in A9 already)
The update to A10 i made with a full wipe, everything as described in the OP.
I have a Witson PX5 with performance mode enabled (always at the highest clock) 2Gb ram
it works fine for most of the time but as soon as I turn wifi one and connect to the hot spot, it become very slow.
I assume it might be because spotify starts updating/download playlists and perhaps google store.
Is it normal to be slow while downloading stuff?
Im using hal9k anfroid 8 but will probably migrate to android 10, just wanted to know if this behavior will continue
Use any file manager. For example, this:
Try increasing the log buffers in the developer options to 16M
