Interestingly with head unit reloaded i was able to run android auto wireless, im guessing its not the same.
Hi all, I've encountered a wierd problem with v5 of the mod. My deck no longer connects to any wifi access points, no matter what I do. I tried downgrading to v4 and wifi is working again. Switching back to v5 brought the problem back.

Hi, I have a similar issue.
In my case the issue is due to a USB modem that I have.
For the first time Andorid 10 recognize it as a modem and use it as native modem.
When the usb modem is connected I cannot connect to any wifi!
If I disconnect the modem, the wifi works again.
Please could one kind person please confirm if they are able to open the Play Store YouTube app on the latest OTA of this mod (5.0.2)? Just need to know if it's something I have a chance of being able to fix myself or not. Thank you!
Hmmm, that could be the problem I'm facing actually. I've recently moved the PX5 over to a new car and haven't completed all the wiring I'll be doing - this means that my USB 4G access point is currently connected directly to the radio instead of its own 12V source. Will have to investigate this further. Cheers.
Hi, I've got an issue in Hal9K mod with HCTCanBus. Version 10 in Hal9k mod, (the same in Malaysk) gives me innapropriate messages for automatic car parking and moreover - includes numerous mistakes in translation. I tried to choose another canbus in factory settings but cannot find any better. HCTCanBus in Android version 9 (also in Hal9k 4.x) worked fine and moreover i prepared a better translation.
The question to consider by author - is there possible method to apply changes to HCTCanBus or give an option to install the old one? Replacement the file in root explorer is very risky and in many cases caused blackout and neccesity to reinstall the system.
Finding a bug may be another solution. I may provide the old one to compare and help the author to make an appropriate translation.

You can emulate Android auto with software only with Headunit Relaoded, it works even wireless to. For carplay you are going to need a dongle wired or wireless (which mostly also support Android auto but only wired)

May not be your problem, but just in case...
I found out that disconnecting my Bluetooth connection fixes my Wifi connection.
My problem was the BT module in Factory setting.
With my XTRONS LM:
Android 9, I had to set BT module to WQ-BC6.
Android 10, I have to set it to SD_BC6.
The module is the same but with other drivers.
On Android 10 and BT module WQ-BC6 my phone hotspot stop with a message... can not share your internet connection because of to many wifi instability. (Only when using both Bluetooth and wifi simultaneously on WQ-BC6.)

I have an XTRONS headunit too, so apparently this problem with connectivity is not a coincidence.
However, my bluetooth module is set as SDIO-AUTO in factory settings and if I set it otherwise bluetooth module is not visible at all.
Did you, by any chance, try that driver (SDIO-AUTO) at all? Maybe you figured out which are the alternatives for any other of them? Just asking, obviously your explanation stands (about compatibility and module drivers)....

XTRONS is the name of the seller of our headunit.
The MCU name is the name of the manufacturer. Mine is a LM.
I have tried every BT name in Factory Settings. Only one worked for me.
Have a look at solution (replacing) Android 10 incompatible BT module in A10 installation BT requirements.
I updated YouTube via the play store to the latest version yesterday, it still quits on opening. Tried clearing cache / storage, uninstalling then reinstalling. Still quits. Could anyone please confirm if they are also having this issue on 5.0.2 of this mod.
Thank you for confirming. Looks like I've got no other option than to wipe and reinstall unless anyone has any ideas what could be causing this. To my knowledge, all other apps are working fine.

If your MCU version starts with MTCD, MTCE, MTCP, MTCH, HCTG, then you can install Mod5.0.0. In paid update 5.0.1, a screen filter is added to additionally dim the screen in night mode. Unfortunately, paying for updates is now not possible, PayPal is blocked in Russia. But you can try Screen Filter from Google play.
K-BOX uses the Z-link application, if you can activate it in the factory settings, it should work. Use the magnifying glass, there are several reports of Z-link.

How do I install the firmware?
When switching from any other firmware, you need to wipe user data!
For stable operation of the device, it is recommended to update the MCU firmware to the current one, released in March 2021 or later.
If there is no such firmware for your device, use the latest available one.

MTCE versions can be installed instead of MTCD
If you have Android 10 installed:
The installation is similar to a regular firmware update:
- Copy the firmware file update.zip to a USB flash drive / memory card formatted in FAT32
- Connect the USB flash drive / memory card to the device
- Set the "Wipe data ..." checkbox and click the "Install" button in the window that appears.
- After installation, the device will automatically reboot one more time to complete the Magisk installation.
If you have Android 9, 8 or 6 installed:
Requires updating the recovery version to Android10
- Simple and safe way: Use the ModInstaller Pro application (link to the application in the readme.txt file, which is located in the archive with the firmware or in my signature at the bottom of this post)

Just wanted to say thanks for making this. I know that doing such things is a huge amount of work and even doing "small" things from the user's perspective can be days of effort.
I have installed the mod using your mod installer, spent the past hour reinstalling everything and setting it up just the way I like it. No drama, no issues. It just worked and now I have a newer version of Android installed which runs a little faster.
People tend to only comment here if they are having issues. I blame human nature. I just wanted to tip the balance a little in the other direction with this comment.
To anyone else reading this: just pay for the updates if you like it. It's €10 for some excellent software which clearly has a lot of effort and love spent on it, and is a fantastic deal.13

Note:
If you installed update 5.1.0 today and have a problem with Magisk v24:
OTA packages updated tonight.
You need to reinstall 5.0.0 and updates. Without a wipe data!
With a next install of the 5.1.0 package, Magisk data will be cleared and it will work fine.
