Weirdly i have no problems from the rom in all my headunits.
I do not count the webview as this rom problem since official roms have the same problem and second there is a working solution by uninstalling updates for webview and chrome. And of course disable auto updates for those two from play store.
Other problems i have are either hardware problems like the units cannot have many usb connected the same time and i solved this by delivering 5v power from an external supply to the usb power lines.
Another one is possibly from mcu and makes the radio sometimes not autoplay after wake from sleep. Also present on the official rom.
No problems with gps signal either even if in all cars i have the antenna pointing down and glued on the glass next to the back mirror.
Maybe i am lucky? Who knows

Hi, I worked long time with v4 and I decided to install v5. All fine but...
Sound during calls is terrible. I tried to change settings to improve, but no clear where or what.
I tried to enter Viper but it seems it has not driver, and it is not possible to acces SU.... maybe Magisk is not working?
I tried now to access Magisk and it tells that an upgrade is needed... I accept but "there was a problem parsing the package".
Summary: Bad quality calls, Viper and Magisk not working.
Does someone has some suggestions?

To all intents and purposes, this rom has stopped working. Gradually fewer applications would run, now both alexa, and amazon music and folder player fail to run (force close on start). I am assuming that these have updated from google play and are now incompatible with the ROM (or more likely google play services) which has not been updated.
Wish I had stuck to the stock firmware really, but no way to go back. Vanku PX6 which is yet another rebrand of a generic chinese head unit - Pumpkin etc look the same.
Worth trying an alternative rom and if so, which one, or should I cut my losses, toss it in a skip and buy something new?

Hi, Does anyone know any way to get the BT Music app working always in background? I would like to hear my phone sound in MTCE, and it works well with the built-in app but as soon as I start another audio app (such Youtube or Spotify) I stop hearing audio from phone.
I was wondering if it would be possible to add this app to Navigation ones for mixing this audio with the rest but this one is not available in the list. Any ideas?

3Before you switch to hal9k from malaysk you have to understand that all those custom roms are based on china official ones and they have almost the same problems.
And updates are slow as a turtle. So on last update there is a problem with wifi that sometimes either does not turn on at all or does not want to connect or connects after a long time.
Had some restarts also. All of them while had wifi problems.
What troubles me is that i see no feedback from hal9k about those problems either here or 4pda.
That is until hal9k gets a new update out, if and when he does, that is based on a rom he did not made with the problems that rom has.
In simple words do not expect miracles.

Just for your knowledge, I reinstalled version 5.0.0 from the original update.zip WITHOUT wiping data, then I updated via OTA till reaching version 5.1.0 and disabled the auto update. Now it works fine. -

How do I install the firmware?
When switching from any other firmware, you need to wipe user data!
For stable operation of the device, it is recommended to update the MCU firmware to the current one, released in March 2021 or later.
If there is no such firmware for your device, use the latest available one.

MTCE versions can be installed instead of MTCD
If you have Android 10 installed:
The installation is similar to a regular firmware update:
- Copy the firmware file update.zip to a USB flash drive / memory card formatted in FAT32
- Connect the USB flash drive / memory card to the device
- Set the "Wipe data ..." checkbox and click the "Install" button in the window that appears.
- After installation, the device will automatically reboot one more time to complete the Magisk installation.
If you have Android 9, 8 or 6 installed:
Requires updating the recovery version to Android10

When installing WebView and Chrome versions 101.x.x.x, crashes occur in these applications as well as in other applications that use WebView.

Mod is a modified factory firmware.
I can only be responsible for the changes in the device that I made. All of them are listed in the "List of changes" section.
Everything else, both good and bad, is inherited from the factory firmware.
I try to fix bugs found in the stock, but this I can’t always do it.

Just wanted to say thanks for making this. I know that doing such things is a huge amount of work and even doing "small" things from the user's perspective can be days of effort.
I have installed the mod using your mod installer, spent the past hour reinstalling everything and setting it up just the way I like it. No drama, no issues. It just worked and now I have a newer version of Android installed which runs a little faster.
People tend to only comment here if they are having issues. I blame human nature. I just wanted to tip the balance a little in the other direction with this comment.
To anyone else reading this: just pay for the updates if you like it. It's €10 for some excellent software which clearly has a lot of effort and love spent on it, and is a fantastic deal.13
