i just happened to me,
clean flash and it worked again..
Yes this problem always happens sooner or later for me too. It has happened something like 12 times, the quickest way of return it operational that I have found is loading a nandroid backup, and if it is old then restore app data with swift backup app . But this is not a recent problem, it has started about an year ago and always happens after phone reboots on his own.

First thing: thanks @to.xda for the feedback about GPS.
Second thing: @to.xda @Cipcino81 @indhimaga I cannot explain why you're having so many issues. Can you tell me what is the quickest way to reproduce this issue? Do I just have to flash my ROM, Gapps, log into my Google account and wait for a while until it happens? How long should it take for the problem to appear?

Hello Tom, it may take up to two months for it to happen , but it is not always the same. One time it happened after only two weeks. In addition to the ROM and gapps, I got installed magisk too, but I do not know if this have an influence on the issue.

in my case, this is the first time it happened for several latest builds,
no particular action performed,
suddenly, a notification pop up about action required for google account,
pressing it asked me to login again,
after i entered password,
nothing happened and the notification persisted,
later it logged me out of play store,
but when i checked ny account from web, it listed on as active device just fine..

well, i had encountered it once or twice a long time ago,
so i was not surprised,
couldn't recalled what i did back then,
as i haven't fully setup my devices since last flash,
i just cleaned flash and it worked..

if it happened again,
i'll grab a logcat..

just to be sure,
did you flash gapps directly after flashing the rom on your first install as directed in lineage os wiki?
meaning no reboot between the process..
@Cipcino81 @indhimaga

i was curios and did a quick search,
apparently flashing separately can cause such issue too..
it just that i am quite sure i followed those steps properly,
i don't use magisk, so i don't think that's the problem..

Same happened here. But my pop up to log in to the google account did not even open, it just crashed the pop up every time.

I remembered this happening about a year ago as well. I looked up again what i did and for me this worked immediately:

Go to play services in settings, disable it, clear its chache and enable it again.

yes i always flash it directly, it listed on as active device with google account linked, but the same time all google apps force me to log out and ask a password, the past week when the problem occur, i even can't remove the account so it just stuck, i decided get back to the drawing board, but yesterday when it happened again, i can remove the account, but always same still cannot log in like you said every time notification pop up about action required for google account pressing it asked me to login again, after i entered password, nothing happened and the notification persisted, and i always totally immerse with magisk

Thanks for providing a workaround! I hope it is useful for the other users facing this problem.

Enable USB debugging on your phone and the next time it happens, before trying @SamVVaeck 's workaround, connect the phone to the PC and grab a logcat (adb logcat > log.txt). While you're grabbing the logcat try also removing the account, re-adding it, etc. (the more errors you trigger, the more informative the logcat is).
Of course, you don't have to reboot the phone at any time, otherwise the log will be useless.

Yes this is the same behaviour that I have faced. One time when this strange error was happened to me during last summer, I was able to get it to work too, but for me worked removing shamiko module from magisk , and when phone rebooted it was normal again. But that worked only that one time. I tried to never install shamiko too but the error eventually resurfaced . So I have no clue what causing this. The only method that works everytime is restore data partition from previous backup or just clean flash.

Hi, a new build is available. It brings February's security patches, and a couple of "deGoogling" tweaks: a more privacy-friendly and secure WebView implementation (Mulch, taken from DivestOS), and it uses non-Google endpoints to perform connectivity checking (default endpoint: http://captiveportal.kuketz.de/ by Mike Kuketz, fallback endpoint: http://connectivitycheck.grapheneos.network/generate_204 by GrapheneOS). The kernel WiFi driver updates have been reverted.
Hi, apparently I forgot to revert the kernel WiFi driver updates... So those of you who were facing WiFi issues on January's build should install the kernel I had provided here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...geos-18-1-february-16th.3693223/post-87950835
Any corelated wifi issue with my problem here dev? could you see what happened here please. thanks

i tried clean install 3 days ago,
phone still rebooted randomly,
it seemed fine when idle,
but when downloading or sudden screen wake up,
it would either reboot or freeze..

grab log through adb whenever i can,
i don't really understand on how to read logs,
so, i've attached in case it's useful,
i've trimmed it to last hundred lines before reboot or frozen..

i use the latest twrp to flash the build,
should i use official lineageos recovery instead?
could the degoogle thing cause the issue?
if there is a better way to collect log please do inform me,
meanwhile, i think i will try the official build,
thank you..

hi,
i managed to get a crash log,
starting line 5555..

it seemed to me when device went to sleep or may be deep sleep,
sudden wake up will crash the os,
i have encountered this pattern many times..

i viewed the tombstone file,
but it's empty..

found anr log,
that's probably for yesterday crash while using,
attached in case it's useful..

Hi, just wanted to reassure you that May's build is a bit late, but is coming soon :)
I want to fix high framerate recording and possibly the kernel crashes too, before releasing it.
There is a good chance that the kernel crashes are caused by some of the patches required for zram, so I'll disable zram altogether in the new build. We'll see if this helps or not!
    3
how do i disable it by myself?
Hi, sorry, I forgot to reply yesterday. You can simply flash the new build! It contains May's patches, disabled zram, and a workaround for the high-framerate recording issue you reported :)

Guys, let me know if this build is stable! @M4Master96 don't worry, there are many devices using zram on 3.4 kernels, so at least one working implementation exist :) If our testing reveals that zram is the cause of the frequent crashes some people have observed, I'll work on implementing a more stable zram patch set in my kernel.

    thank you for the update,
    i'm testing it now,
    will report back later..

btw, is it possible to disable that auto rotate icon at the bottom by default in this rom?
well, of course if it's approved by you and majority of user,
    i just find it annoying..

meanwhile i use this command to disable it now,
don't know if it's working or not..

    Code:
adb shell settings put secure show_rotation_suggestions 0
That command should work, yes. Adding a toggle for this in Settings shouldn't be too hard, I'll try to implement it in the next build!

    Glad to hear that!

What battery did you purchase ? I have heard almost all of them are not very good, since not original .
I bought it in India via local seller. He gave me bill and 1 year warranty so I was fine with that. Battery dimensions are same and my device stopped shutting off randomly as soon as I opened any app.

    A BIG "THANK YOU" TO
the whole LineageOS team, and the multitude of great developers of the Android custom ROM scene, such as kdrag0n, kerneltoast (Sultanxda), nathanchance, flar2, franciscofranco, frap129, the MSM-Xtended project, the crDroid project. I hope I have not forgotten anyone.

I'm happy and proud to announce that I am now an official LineageOS maintainer for our Oneplus One!
    23
Hello! My first LineageOS 16 build works fine and even Argon kernel is working fine :)
However, the ROM is not ready for you to use it, especially because I have to improve the kernel's implementation (currently it's very buggy and a normal user would go crazy to make it work properly). So I will not release this build, however I think that within a few days I'll get this stuff sorted and a new build will be ready!

    POST-INSTALLATION ADVICE

    GAPPS COMPATIBILITY

    Only use MindTheGapps.

    SETTING UP MICROG
Signature spoofing is supported but not enabled out of the box. There's no switch to enable it in Settings, you must grant its permission to each app that needs it. In particular, if you install MicroG (either via the apks or via MinMicroG), you must run these commands in a root shell:
    Code:
    pm grant com.google.android.gms android.permission.FAKE_PACKAGE_SIGNATURE
    pm grant com.android.vending android.permission.FAKE_PACKAGE_SIGNATURE
then make sure all the checkboxes in MicroG's status screen are ticked and reboot.

    SETTING UP VIPER4ANDROID
If you follow these steps carefully, you'll manage to install Viper4Android while keeping Enforcing SELinux, and it will survive across ROM updates too :)
Since XDA Labs has been dead for a while, I've reuploaded Viper4Android's apk installer here: https://mega.nz/file/htFikD6Y#HpcdSMSa6fPdB5EXhGnyYI4uoxA7R4TnzhAZD_J_jrk

    PASSING SAFETYNET
Passing SafetyNet is quite easy. You need to have Gapps installed, though. Flash Magisk, enable Magisk Hide in its settings, reboot. Now you should pass SafetyNet.

    GRABBING LOGS
If you have faced an issue, please provide logs when reporting it.
If the issue involved a random reboot of the device -> let the phone boot up again and immediately grab a copy of /proc/last_kmsg (important: don't turn off or reboot the phone a second time, otherwise it'll be useless).
If the issue did not involve a random reboot of the device, but instead some "softer" crash (e.g. an app crashing, a SystemUI restart...) -> grab a logcat using any app such as Logcat Reader or plug the phone to a computer and pull it using the adb logcat > logfile.txt command.

    Hello guys,
I'd like to inform you that I plan to switch to LineageOS 16 soon. I'll start by using TugaPower, to get used to the new OS and to finish setting up my building environment (I have to pull some files from LineageOS 16 before I can start building my own releases). Then I'll start sharing my own builds. Since it'll take me a while to implement in LineageOS 16 all the features and the optimizations that I've added to my 15.1 builds, the first LineageOS 16 builds will be very close to the standard LineageOS ones, but I'll gradually get to the point I've reached with Oreo.
I might build and upload one last 15.1 build in the next days.
    I'll keep you informed :)
