It's optional update for radio and OS loader. If macos show fat32 partition when you connect phone in quallcomm mode, you can update this files. Just replace files from IMAGE folder to attached files.

Does this rom include the auto updating bing wallpapers

Yes.

No, this application does not yet exist.

Also does this rom support cab updates provided by you in the future?

Okay, thank you for the replies. So basically this would be the final release of the 7.8 update I'm assuming. Would you be adding the cab updates to the rom any soon? If its coming in like a day or two i'd rather wait. Last time I missed your rom with cab updating and I couldn't do further updates coz losing the entire data on the phone is quite a pain. So please do let me know if the feature is coming any time soon. Thanks a lot again mate, your doing a great job out there

Also I downloaded the rom from GoogleDocs and once the download was finished I got a CRC error while extracting. Maybe this was just an error on my end, but just putting it out here. Gonna download it from mediafire now

The WP7 7.8 Build 8858 changes:
New Start screen
Ability to use Static IP while using Wifi
New Xbox,MS Office Logos
More accent color choices
New splash screen during boot
Bing Auto Updating Wallpapers available in settings menu

These are changes by MSFT/Nokia, the rom has more changes in it. A lot of homebrew apps are updated and look beautiful and are smoother. everything's running perfect as of now. Let me know if any of you need to know anything about this, I'll be happy to provide some feedback.

Lucifier:The start menu letters are missing, not sure if its the this rom or if microsoft have chosen to remove it. Everything else working good for now, thanks a lot

menü letters are disabled by lucifer as default. You can have it back from tweak menü in settings... This is how I got back them..

Read the thread, just connect with zune, enable the USB Storage Enabler Tool then close zune, that should do the trick.


Ok, just tried it myself and it worked, I only had to create a music folder.

Please, don't run USB Video Out without the need. This app causes freezing interface, and change usb connection mode, so you can't connect via Zune. To turn it off, run this app again, and reboot.

I meet an issue today. My phone receive a message give me vibrate with 1~2 seconds and than it restart. It seems crash. Before this time, I met the same issue because I install an app about call managing, it use the native code. It seems use the new driver, this driver could cause this issue. By refresh new ROM, I don`t know whether the old driver has been deleted. If it has been deleted, is it a bug in 2.0? This message seems special, the call number is 10658139114196535116, have 20 numbers. BTW, the message is completely received.

The time taken to open something when clicking on a tile seems to have increased compared to wp7.5. Don't think it has anything to do with the rom though. Hope Nokia or MSFT address this. No problems in the rom, everything working smoothly.

I haven't installed the other updates using Linux yet as I don't have Linux n and I'm using win 8,secure boot n crap. But do these updates affect performance? I saw that these updates are optional. Lucifier can you pleae confirm if these updates affect performance?
