@Quantumstate. Thanks again for your help, but you missed the step of using ADB to issue the command "# fastboot reboot fastboot," which i did several times, if you re-read my post, but fastbootd did not launch. Perhaps I need to take the phone back to stock, which I'm not sure how to do, and reflash Havoc 3.12, 4.1, ArrowOS, or something else.
Btw I used to be in the real estate development business, also. See attached pic.
No, I did not miss that step because it is not a step. Again, you do not use adb to boot fastbootd. Please read the OP and my above post carefully. I was very precise in what I said.

So you are switched off and in fastboot mode when typing fastboot reboot fastboot?

After using this ROM (22-12-20 Build) for a few weeks, I can say it's pretty decent and I'm glad with the overall result. :)

I had one random reboot when I opened to many 'tabs' on the default browser -- maybe the system ran out of RAM, although this shouldn't happen anyway.

My only complain is that the life span of the apps is still too aggressive, even though it's better than the original ROM. For instance, every time I wake up from 8ish hours sleep most of my main apps are closed/killed. This shouldn't happen. If system needs RAM, it's fair to kill the least used app/process, but what's actually happening here is that the system is killing apps after a given amount of idle time, not by demand.

Thanks!

Been having a great experience so far except I can not get android auto to work. I installed the GAPPS version of the ROM. After downloading Android Auto and Google Maps the option to start android auto does not appear on my car.

My cars states "device is not responding"

Upon googling this I have not found a solution that has worked. I tried enabling USB Debugging. I also tried turning on File sharing mode but the phone instantly changes it back to charging only.

Hi! I have been using this ROM the past month. It's great. I'm really liking it. It's the ROM that best fits my needs, so thanks for bringing it to the g(8) and g(8)power (I have both, but only unlocked the power for now). Will you perhaps work on the android 11 version too?

I found no bug. it's really stable, but I miss the FM Radio. Does FM radio not work on custom ROMs? I think other ROMs don't have it either
If you are still interested, I found a custom ROM that has FM radio support built in.
Check out DotOS on the telegram group. It is very stable, no bugs (so far) and Android 11.

Is this what fastbootd is supposed to look like? The photo washed it out, but the TWRP Up/Down Arrow and the word Fastboot appears at the top left corner mostly under the camera hole.

go to the bootloader
flash the attached file, it's the stock rocovery
put this into a command prompt: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
select the go to recovery
I pulled the photo off google, but the screen looks identical to this

@Professional Human. Thanks a lot. Just what I need; a professional human. 👍👍

I finally got fastbootd to open after several attempts, but only by pressing and holding Vol Up and Pwr simultaneously for 5-6 seconds while in fastboot; your method didn't work. But, perhaps you can help me a bit more. Weeks ago, I thought that I flashed @Beetle84's Havoc 3.11 correctly, but I suspect not, because although the phone seems to work perfectly, including WiFi calling, I'm concerned about the following.
1. Using 3.11, each time I boot I see pages of raw computer data until booted. Other XDA members have commented that the raw data pages are emblematic of an install error. Can I just reflash Havoc or should I take it back to stock first. If either is correct I would appreciate a brief explanation how to correct this.
2. Also, Vol Dn + Pwr opens bootloader mode where I can select Recovery Mode and launch TWRP 3.5.1_10.0. Again, some members have commented that TWRP should neither be installed or used on this Rom for any purpose, whatsoever. However, I, as an old XDA guy, I depend on TWRP to install Gapps when not built into the Rom I'm flashing, Magisk for root, etc., and Migrate, which I enthusiastically recommend and use instead of Titanium Backup to backup and restore all my apps when changing Roms. So, can I still use TWRP with this Rom? If so, how to I flash it?
3. So now that I have fastbootd working what should I flash? Are you running @Beetle84's Havoc 3.11, also? Should I just leave my faulty 3.11 is place and wait for Havoc 4.X or a differenct Rom? And would I have to install 4.X with Telegram which I haven't figured out yet - I NEED A TELEGRAM TUTORIAL!!
Thanks for everything

I have flashed more Roms the old fashioned XDA way than I can count; but fastbootd is foreign to me.

I got no clue what to do about your first issue. What I believe is normal is: this bootloader is unlocker is unlocked, software integrity can be... something like that, Motorola logo, then the ROM boot animation

As for your second addendum, just install the stock recovery, copy/paste the commands to flash your ROM, then reboot to bootloader in footbootd rather than system, and flash TWRP to do the usual.

I feel like that should work just because it sounds logical, but I'm rather inexperienced to this stuff. No clue if it will will though. Personally, I typically install Gapps versions and use the debloat the magisk debloat module to remove what I don't need.

Are you also using @Beetle84's Havoc 3.11, and which version of TWRP did you install?

TWRP 3.5.0, might have been either ArrowOS or DotOS. Not exactly sure sure as I tried out a couple ROMs since the Havoc port is being discontinued
@Professional Human. I've finally mastered fastbootd. The trick is that one must use the latest version of Platform Tools. I also flashed TWRP. 3.5.0_10-0, Magisk and Migrate from bootloader. I haven't tested Nandroid backup and restore yet. But I still need a Telegram tutorial. If this Rom won't be supported what will will be your next Rom?

Thank you for this!

I did not know the knock code to enter fastbootd. Previously I had only been able to get to fastbootd while attached to my PC using an ADB command.

I replaced TWRP recovery with the stock recovery as you explained. I used the recovery.img from my stock firmware, not the attachment to your post.

I'm perusing this entire thread before I plunge into installing HavocOS. It goes to show one never knows what tidbits he will stumble across.

I've not checked this entire thread, so please forgive if this question is resolved or determined.

It seems people with Sprint, Visible or Verizon had trouble using this ROM. They also mentioned problems using ROMs other than Havoc.

Does this ROM work for people using CDMA carriers? I haven't installed it yet. Moreover, the carriers I'm using run on T-Mobile and AT&T networks. In other words, I'm merely curious.

@mdc211. I'm having exactly the same problem with Android Auto not working. Did you ever find a solution?

So my sofia is running free of Google on this ROM. Everything seems working properly. I turned on the Smart Charging and set the up level at 80%. After a whole night charging, I found the battery level is at 100%. Did I do anything wrong? Or I'm supposed to turn on the option to reset the statistics? A big thank you to the OP. @Beetle84

I've run G**gle free for a year. I first get all the apps I can from F-Droid, and get the rest from APKPure, which has all the apps Play has, but you don't need to register.

A few apps say they -require- Play. Some simply refuse to run (Lyft), but others go ahead and work anyway after complaining (SSHDroid).

What a joy it is to be free of The Greatest Data Mining Operation In The History Of The World.

PS - Yes I rooted with Magisk. Avoid TWRP for this phone.
