[ROM][RAV*/SOFIA*][10][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 17.1

Search This thread
As I noted It's a test build I have never tested it and it might not work. LOS17.1 I build worked when I build it on first try, 18.1 looks not.
I'd like to have more confirmation and later maybe next build will work or if someone can give me a hand I'd love to have LOS18.1 on my Sofiar device.
Please google fastbootd or search this thread. Every other person fails to enter fastbootd
I attempted to install the 3/29 dated LOS17.1 on my Sofiar G8 Power, made it all the way through the instructions successfully, but my phone just boots into fastboot now... No error messages, all shows a status of OKAY on all flashes, but it won't actually boot. Tried:
-booting to fastbootd thru TWRP
-booting to fastbootd without TWRP
-system before product
-product before system
(flashing back to stock between each attempt)

Please take the text below with a grain of salt, it is from past me before the above 17.1 adventure, but it shows a difference in install success of the two builds:

Okay I found fastbootd, apparently I had replaced it with TWRP. Phone flashed back to stock, fastbootd restored. I followed the steps of post #53 in this thread, but got stuck in fastbootd at the same place as before:

C:\Users\Meeee\Downloads\platform-tools_r31.0.2-windows\platform-tools>fastboot flash system lineageSo\system.img
Invalid sparse file format at header magic
Resizing 'system_a' FAILED (remote: 'Not enough space to resize partition')
fastboot: error: Command failed

New error message though... the new system.img may be too big? It is about 1.8GB vs the old one's 1.0GB... can it be split?

@sifrax You may have to also delete the first line in lineage/device/lineage/sepolicy/common/dynamic/hwservice_contexts (the moto health one) for 18.1 to boot.

I know using my trees, I have to delete it for any rom it's included in, Im still figuring out what to change in the device trees so this isn't needed.

I thought I was flashing 10 based on the site I got it from, but based on the below build info, it seems I've been flashing 11. Should I find an Android 10 stock rom instead?

Hey all,

I've been running Lineage 17.1 on the Moto G Power for a little while now and everything is great. Between FDroid and Aurora Store I have been able to get ahold of basically any app that I need without getting involved with Google services. However, I do have one problem. The built in Email app isn't allowing me to log in to my email accounts. I always get the error that "my username and/or password is incorrect" despite inputting the correct credentials for each of my accounts. I primarily use Outlook for these email accounts, so maybe that is the issue here? (native app gives me manual options for POP3, IMAP, and EXCHANGE). Is there a way around this or is there a different email client that I can use from FDroid?

    This ROM includes:
    • FDroid
    • FDroidPrivilegedExtension

    Flashing:

    I recommend GNU/Linux for this.

    1. Flash TWRP
    2. Extract the zip and open a shell with ADB and fastboot.
    3. Reboot your device into fastbootd mode.
    Code:
    fastboot reboot fastboot
    4. Flash boot, system, product, and vbmeta.
    Code:
    fastboot set_active a
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash system system.img
    fastboot flash product product.img
    fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
    4. Wipe userdata.
    5CODE]fastboot -w[/CODE]

If you are on the Moto G8/G Fast and your display cutout is misbehaving, enable your overlay like so:

    Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable org.omnirom.overlay.moto.rav

    Update:

    Code:
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash system system.img
    fastboot flash product product.img
    fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
    fastboot reboot

    Working:
    • Display
    • Touchscreen
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth (including audio)
    • Headphones via 3.5mm
    • Internal Speaker
    • Moto Actions
    • Calls/SMS/LTE/VoLTE on Verizon
    • GPS
    • Notification LED
    • Hotspot

    Bugs:
    • After turning hotspot off, phone reboots
    • Inbuild screen recording app broken, phone reboots

No idea how these files differ, which one do I use or how.

No idea what this means or why is it important and listed as second most important paragraph.

    Don't know what that means.

Don't know what `fastbootd` mode is.

Doesn't work, after reboot the command line says "waiting for any devices". Can't continue.

Every year I try some Android device and venture to XDA to try some custom ROMs. It never works.
This is a very stable and well presented ROM. It is also very easy to install.
I'm not trying to be a ****, but with all the questions you have, you obviously have no idea what you are doing! If other people are successfully installing and using a ROM and you can't, the problem is not the ROM.
For starters, is your bootloader unlocked? If not, you need to do that before trying anything. If you don't know how, use search.
