mine is doing the same thing, after installing i get that message about filesystem raw and it never boots it just goes to normal fastboot everytime, i tried doing the command fastboot erase userdata, and after reboot it still took me to fastboot mode.. where did i go wrong?

Have you updated your adb/fastboot? Older versions cant access fastbootd.
Are you in fastbootd when flashing? It has Fastbootd in red letters across the top.
Ignore the message when formatting data.

Yes thanks for reply, I was in fastbootd, apparently minimal adb was my issue. Used adb from platform tools and it worked fine

Try not erasing or formatting any storage and see what it says. Also what version of adb are you using?

Download from here

https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools#downloads

Delete all old adb files and exe's from pc and use the files you just downloaded.

Sorry it took so long for a response I was gone for a few weeks.
Yes it was minimal adb, it was up to date but I used the platform tools adb instead and it worked fine. Thanks for the reply

Flash this kernel in twrp, made by Odin on telegram ;)

Check the output in twrp after it flashes, if it DOESNT say magisk detected, flash magisk again.
If it does say magisk detected, reboot.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't get a chance to test android auto. Does this rom/kernel support android auto? Thanks again...

Edit.
Flashed the updated boot.IMG and I must say awesome job. The Hotspot now works with no crash issues.
I'll report back tomorrow if android auto works.
Again can't thank you enough for this ROM.
Should now be official.:)

would you consider making a version of the rom with gapps installed? I ask because I can't use twrp to side load or flash anything. I'd be glad to donate.

If anyone wants to test a screen recorder workaround (new screen recorder app, no rebooting anymore), flash the zip attached below in twrp and reboot. Then attempt to record through the quick settings toggle. I can confirm its working in another rom. Thanks.

can you make this into a boot.img we can flash through fastboot? some of us can't use twrp. btw the rom is running great.

Just tried flashing it, and it doesn't seem to work perfectly - screen recording doesn't reboot the phone anymore, but the output is a green screen & the phone becomes sluggish when recording. Still better than before, though!

For reference, I just flashed this with twrp (adb push in twrp -> flash zip), so if I did something wrong please let me know

EDIT:The output doesn't always seem to be green? Sometimes it works, sometimes not - the only way I could reliably reproduce it was using scrcpy, which iirc uses the built-in screen recording

Thanks for trying it out :highfive:

On my regular g8, the recording seems to work all the time. The only time ive ever had green output is using screen mirroring.
If you turn the resolution down a little and set it to 16mbps using the settings cog in the on-screen recording pill the lags disappear for me.

Ah, cool! I just tried turning down the resolution as well and it helped a bunch, a shame mirroring doesn't work though.

As a side note, on the omnirom build for this phone though mirroring does seem to work fine, so maybe I'll try digging though what's different between the two...

Let me clarify. I was on stock android 11. Flash procedure went fine. Flashed through fastboot d using latest platform tools. I flashed to partition b. I reflashed it to make sure and rebooted to twrp to verify active partition. I can not get any roms to work they either get stuck at boot anim or put me to fastboot
I noticed this issue before. You have to first fastboot flash a stock rom android (10) .Then android 11 roms will boot. I think because the roms were created using android 10 source code that is modified for android 11.. just a guess though..

edit- I use lolinet mirror for all my stock moto firmware. Just make sure you know each devices codename. Look for the latest android 10 firmware and save it for each time you flash a different rom. This website keeps the oldest and latest software related to moto devices..
