Returning from KK and ICS back to this, is the stock attached kernel still the best available?
I think the best kernel is boot_uv7.1.69-sysinit. i'm still using the ray as my daily main device.
If you need anything of my setup i have all files backed up

How is the speaker volume during phone calls? My speaker mesh which was glued on by Sony eventually fell off and I have replaced it with a home-made one. However, the In-call volume was never loud enough.

Is it really nice and loud enough to be used in a noisy environment? Only my Music volume is nice and loud but the In-Call volume is very quiet on the external Speaker. The Ear Speaker is good.

Using the same Firmware as you, then Moved on to Gin2KitKat with same Aire kernel as you.

I've got no problems with the speaker volume during phone calls or in-calls.

@Jorre2220 : I put some black electrical tape on the back where the speaker Mesh used to be. Now volume is better but not as loud as before. The music volume is loud, but when speaking to someone on Speaker phone, it is not as loud as the Music is. I am glad to see someone still uses this phone! It is Such a great little phone! I am using Gin2KitKat ROM, have you tried it? What do you think?

I'm still using my setup. Have tried Gin2KitKat a while ago but stapped back to Repack.
A few weeks ago my anti-virus discovered a threat in the rom (both Repack as Gin2KitKat) -> "settingsprovider.apk." looks to be infected somehow ?!
At the end of the year i'll probably buy a new phone.

I am using Avast and it never found any problems with settingsprovider.apk.

I have made a local.prop in /data with the following code in it

sys.keep_app_1=com.android.phone
sys.keep_app_2=com.android.contacts
sys.keep_app_3=com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook
sys.keep_app_4=com.sonyericsson.conversations
sys.keep_app_5=com.sonyericsson.textinput.uxp

Check it out and let me know if that works for you. It is supposed to keep those apps in memory. I reboot everyday but I'm gonna leave it running.
