A2SD issue

SOMEONE HAS GOT TO HELP ME OUT HERE.

Ive been trying to enable A2SD for the past 28 hours straight now. havenent been able to make much progress because apparently this ROM isnt compatible or something.

Ive use Titanium, given my ROM 11mb free space, gotten into recovery, made a 512mb partition.
but Terminal Emulator doesnt do **** when i type in 'Mount | grep sd-ext' [came across that in some guide]

then i go into recovery and try installing Darktremor. half the files dont work. then i go to ftp://ftp.darktremor.info/../ , pick a file and install. it works. but when i go to Terminal and type 'A2SD check' i get all sorts of stuff indicating errors.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT STEP BY STEP HERE?

Why are you using "Mount | grep sd-ext"?
Any way, I have already gone into a lot of detail some were in this thread to get darktremor's a2sd scripts going, its been a long time since I freshly flashed ogo's gingerbread so can't remember 100% how, but the basics are,
make at least 15mbs of free "rom space" use titanium backup it shows how much space is used and free, delete the bloat that's not needed In rom space like Facebook & its Widgets, twitter, maps, stocks and what ever.
Flash darktremors zip file.
After you boot run android terminal do a su command
Next I think its a2sd --enable
Then reboot.

You need to do your own research to find out what you need to do, find the darktremor thread on xda and read how to set it up.. also look back through this thread, its all been covered before, the information is there I know, cause I put it in there!
Thank you and good reading.

Yes, I may verify that these details are 100% working. I have a2sd setup right now on this ROM (Sense for the summer, as always), and I am VERY happy right now. Y'know, until at least my first WiFi reboot. (Jk)

It is interesting for me that people may have just the first wifi reboot. I have constant reboot everytime I enable wifi and is not rare at all.
What is the difference / variable between users having frequent reboot and others like you? Perhaps changing some setting can I get a more acceptable condition?

Well, in my day-to-day circumstance, I rarely have to touch the WiFi toggle.

From installation last morning, I haven't even left home, so WiFi is set to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. I've toggled it on/off once, it has not rebooted.

Going from school to home is a short 10 minute commute, so toggling it off whilst on the road I find I'm too lazy to do. It automatically connects once I enter my destination's building.

And if I leave for a while, I don't see the need to even touch WiFi now that I think about it, WiFi sleep takes care of that for me if I don't use the phone. I can imagine using Tasker to configure when/where/how to automatically enable/disable WiFi sleep, or adjusting it manually.

Point is: the reboot isn't a problem for me.

Since I switch back to HTC Sense every summer, I believe I may only comment on its frequency of reboots from way back then. Maybe 1:25 WiFi toggles? 'Tis an estimate I believe to be accurate.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Basically is like if you disable wi-fi manually and you have no battery drain? I will try your advice anyway.

Though I don't disable it myself frequently, WiFi is still on but instead asleep as well. It does drain, more so than turning it off myself.

It doesn't affect me too much however.

I know the original post was made in 2011, but will there be any more development of this ROM? I just flashed it, and I'm lovin' it so far, would love to see improvements on this ROM!
Not sure what else could be done, its pretty much compleat, granted there is a few bugs, but they can't be fixed without improved drivers. What else could be done?

well if it's as complete as it's going to get, is it possible to start creating mods like leedroid does for the likes of the sensation? or is that out of the question?

I've got some questions about this ROM and I'm aware that they might've been asked before but I'm on my phone so I don't think I can search through the thread.

1. Is it possible to change the bootanimation of this ROM?
2. Is there anyway to enable trackball wake?

Thanks.

any boot animation can be changed in any rom, just replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip with desired boot animation....you have to be either s-off or have unlocked bootloader or do it via adb....if you don't know what i'm talking about just say it i'll try to explain

as for trackball wake i didn't use this rom long enough to check it...probably someone will answer the question...

No trackball wake :(

Sorry farukb your incorrect this is a HTC sense based rom and boot animation is not the standard /system/media bootanimation.zip
The folder from memory has to be /system/resource/custom and the file name has to be htc_bootanimation.zip or something like that.

Did you remember to selectively pick out and erase apps you don't need prior to flashing? Not only does it free up essential space, it's required in this particular ROM before using DT's a2sd.

Your rom is.. so sexy. *_*
Thankyouthankyou!
Sense feels just so much better than the standard CM launchers..
Cheers~

~Usage update~
+ Perfect calling and function, no random reboots, fast as a mosquito on espresso (Before app installs)
+ Teeter.apk WORKS :.D
+ HTC Hub app works perfectly
+ Camera works smoothly
- No trackball wake (as reported above, Thank you b-tard HTC.)
- Teeter haptic feedback is weaker than on stock rom 2.2 FOYO
- Wifi speed cuts in and out, connection shows as perfect but often apps report no connection (Will read thread for reports/fixes)
- Wifi battery drain (heavy, requires manual on/offing)
> Battery down from 100% at 1:30 to 44% at 3:15 under normal usage with audible, will look up wifi battery drain/other possibilities.
/ Titanium backup w/root reports unable to accquire root perms (Rebooting to see if this helps :: Reboot WORKED)
/ Google play thinks I have all my apps installed, I don't (earlier rom had old version of market :: Clicked all old apps desired on PC in play.google.com under my-apps> installed, opened app page, clicked install button, worked after reboot )
/ Voice to text on Sense keyboard not functioning/accepting speech, mic icon stays dark grey (Google voice search downloaded and installed, yey!)

If your talking about the power drain caused by the dialer, as far as I can tell, there is no proper fix for any 2.3.3 version of android, except for my work around seams to do the trick.

Another reliability possibility is i think the framework-res.apk that is in the rom has some compression done on it, I noticed when I started using the framework-res I modified and recompiled using no compression was much larger in size than the original & my phone seamed to be much more reliable.
This is what I noticed on my phone, your experiances my differ.

Possible someone can share this fix/tell how to accomplish and apply it?
