The CM wiki has a post on how to compile from source. They don't have one setup for the Glacier, but it's the same as most other devices. As far as cherry picking; learn! As far as Gigglebread is concerned, I know @djn541 (twitter) builds for the glacier & the G2x. (He just got @fitsnugly's old phone.)
Set up your build computer & build it! It's quite a learning experience. I just made a build today with a few cherry picks today. I don't build everyday, but I've been trying to build more often. If you're interested, I have a link here.
