No, I've install various versions of gapps in the past but they seem to kill the responsiveness. Besides I don't need google watching me every second.

There are plenty of places other than google play to get the apps I want.

Yep, all of that works
How about that light sensor that was disabled on stock. Apparently, some custom ROMs re-enabled it? Though if it was disabled on stock then there must've been a reason. It's nothing really important if even stock doesn't have it working. I'm just looking for something that'll run fine, and have minimal bugs/regressions from stock (working video acceleration is a big one). Gingerbread is not usable anymore, and it's probably been that way for a while. I've been eyeing the final 6.0 build with WiFi working. That 30+ second sleep bug would probably get annoying after a while unless it's because the device is just getting bogged down.

Also wondering if offline charging works.

No the light sensor doesn't work unfortunately. Offline Charging is a little buggy also. I like to charge it in TWRP. There's a lot of times where when it's an offline charging mode the screen will just go black and you have to hold the power button to restart the tablet. Also another weird bug in this ROM where it takes longer than 30 seconds to Wake Up and sometimes it will just shut off.

A lot of reasons to stay with lollipop.

I think lp 5.1.1 is the most useful, most stable release for the Kindle FIre
If you need the functionality of Google play go with the NanoDroid/Xposed/F-droid/microG packages.

No weird sleep issues, no battery draining, no random crashed.

    Resurrection Remix the ROM has been based on CM,slim.omni and original Remix ROM builds, this creates an awesome combination of performance, customization, power and the most new features, brought directly to your Device

    Many things that in previous versions were tweaked with mods, are now included by default in the ROM so, please enjoy!

    Resurrection Remix

    Special thanks to, the CM team,OMNI team ,SLIMROMS and of course to all the supporters

    Kernel auditor - Low memory killer - Very aggressive
    one important note: each flashing rom need flashing gaaps (pico for assurance)
    If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.

    sorry, i don`t have otterx for test.
    can somebody confirm wifi works on builds from list: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/51hajv463yfxb/otterx

    Hi,
    Wifi works on ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.0-20160619-otterx.zip if you apply the temp_touch.fix,
    comes up as 02:00:00:00:00:00 if you do not do the toybox fix.

    Wifi does not work in ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20161010-otterx.zip, either with the toybox fix or without.

    Is that what you mean? or did you want to find one that worked without adding the toybox fix?

    thank you, mikeataol
    can you try boot.img from 0619 to 1010? (with toybox fix)?
    Hi,
    flashing the 0619 boot img and the toybox fix after the 1010 rom still leads to mac address 02:00:00:00:00:00 :(

    I saw the same problem in an acclaim build earlier this year... I tried changing
    lowbytes=$(echo "$MACADDR" | sed -e 's#^\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)$#\\x\6\\x\5\\x\4\\x\3#')
    highbytes=$(echo "$MACADDR" | sed -e 's#^\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)$#\\x\2\\x\1#')
    to
    lowbytes=$(echo "$MACADDR" | toybox sed -e 's#^\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)$#\\x\6\\x\5\\x\4\\x\3#')
    highbytes=$(echo "$MACADDR" | toybox sed -e 's#^\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)$#\\x\2\\x\1#')

    echo $MACADDR
    ......
    the MACADDR file is correct after this (F0A225983FB9)

    I'm left thinking the printf functions in that script aren't working.

    New recruit. Clean install via twrp otterx.

    I installed your latest, with gapps micro, and can't get past the "turning on WiFi" cm/mm nag screen during device setup. No networks populate the list after 5 min.

    Rebooted to see if that helped. It did not.

    There was an issue with CM based roms at the time this was released. Not the developers fault. I saw it on several variants.

    For the March version I believe you need to flash the rom and then flash the toybox fix .

    I'm pretty sure this will work. Ill try it later

    edit: I can confirm that flashing the build(5.6.5) 20160316, then open gapps, then the touch fix (toybox fix), in that order corrects the known issue of WiFi being broken upon startup.

    What I have seen a couple of times is setup struggles on the very first boot.
    After flashing, I let it sit on the "Welcome/Pick your language" screen for a while, then when I see its struggling on the "starting wifi", I reboot, and on the next boot setup goes a lot more smoothly.
