Everyone's claiming/stating that newer MCU=better performances, do any of you have ever read a changelog file of these new MCU?No, because these file logs simply do not exist so your statements are based on personal impression only.

For me it isn't better overall performance, but better radio reception and wifi signal strength specifically.

The wifi signal strength alone is something that would force me to keep the updated MCU.

I am not disregarding your concern as my knowledge of MCU's is simply that I know how to update them and know how to roll back to an older version, so do appreciate the fact that you have highlighted a possible reason not to update. But so far, there is no real reason for me to doubt @typos1 as his explanation sounds right to me.

Noone said new = better

It is oversimplifying several sentences which you should read with more care and understanding

And I decompiled and look at the code, not deeply but enough for my understanding, so I have some clue what is inside and among versions

What you know? And what is your arguments for having any opinion beside you are lacking change logs?

Actually, you went from MTCB KLD6 v2.81 to MTCC KLD6 v2.91, so you upgraded from an MTCB MCU to an MTCC one.

I found when going from MTCC KLD6 v2.91 to v2.97 I didnt have to save settings - the settings were kept, unlike the last 3 MCU upgrades where they were reset.

Your ll probably find that the Explorer and Freestyle share the same CAN Bus system.

Sorry but can I install 800 ROM on 1024 and if yes will I mess up anything ? Wanted to try ZD ROM darkales's fileserver as it has newer stuff .

We re all very experienced with these units, we know what we re talking about.

So, you flash a new ROM and your tuner no longer works, whatever you try you cant get any reception, you flash the latest MCU, now your tuner works, others on here have the same problem and a new MCU sorts it out, this is all "personal impression" ? !

Plus your argument makes no sense anyway, because even if a changelog existed (it doesnt for MCU or ROMs and never has) it would not automatically mean that an improvement would be noticed, in fact having it written down would make it much more susceptible to "personal impression".

And further to that @pa.ko has decompiled the MCUs - he knows EXACTLY what hes talking about.

In short, if you dont like the advice of the experienced people on here, dont take it, but we do know what were talking about.

An 800x480 on a 1024x600 unit will mean the scren has a black border on the right side and below, the other way round will mean that the right side and blow will be cut off.

I m wondering why you want a ZD ROM - the most up to date ROMs on the fileserver are KLD ones.

I m wondering why you want a ZD ROM - the most up to date ROMs on the fileserver are KLD ones.

Updated my system to MTCC-KLD6-V2.97 yesterday night. Didn't notice anything different and RGB lights still reversed.

So I would also suggest to give a chance to latest MCU. With major notice! After flashing MCU always perform Factory settings reconfiguration like this:

Create empty mcu.cfg file on the GPS sd card root
Flash from recovery together after mcu.img update
(empty mcu.cfg forces MCU to reset it's internal cinfiguration which may resolve all kind of problems believe me)
Reconfigure your MCU from Factory settings (write down your original settings and really them after reset)

That way you have 'factory' clean mcu of latest version. Test and if you are not satisfied with new vs lost features / behaviours, you may always return to your good old one.

The reversed RGB is a bug thats been around for a while, resetting MCU wont help

The reversed RGB is a bug thats been around for a while, resetting MCU wont help

Ye, I tried resetting yesterday night and all still the same. My factory setting did not change though. The RGB is the only outstanding issue for me and was just hoping for the best.

It is annoying, but lets face it you set the colour once and forget about it, hopefully theyll fix it at some point.

Trying to get hold of my original firmware for my Eonon MTCC unit, Eonon are being painful and still after 2months wont/cant give me the original firmware.

If someone has the links to the either

Theres no such thing as an "Eonon GA6151F", thats a made up name by Eonon who are simply resellers, they sell mainly Klyde versions and the latest Klyde MTCC factory ROM is on the fileserver in my signature. There are only 2 versions of the latest Klyde ROMs - the 1024x600 version and teh 800x480 version, they are the same for ALL Klyde units, where ever you bought them from - Eonon, Pumpkin, Erisin, Klyde direct, it doesnt matter.

Not my ROMs, I just put everything I can on there to make it easier for everyone to get what they wnat. I guess I may have missed one, you could always look through the Lollipop for MTCB/C thread and see if I ve missed a factory one. Or you could look through the Pumpkin forum and see if there are any later ones.

If I have missed one or you find one later let me know and I ll upload it.

What MCU are you on now ? Its far more likely that the MCU is where the problem lies with RDS, not the ROM.

Pointless - I doubt it wont bring back your RDS - this is controlled by the MCU, not the ROM.

What MCU type did you start off with MTCC I guess ? Have you tried changing radio tuner type in factory settings ?

Downgrading your MCU may well bring back your RDS and you may also be able to upgrade back to 2.97 after its been restored.
