I stand corrected :) that works lol.
I've been clearing each time thinking it was required.
It depends on what you are flashing. If you are flashing the same ROM it's no biggie. usually even the same makers ROM but just modified are usually ok also but they'll tell you what they recommend.

I also want to update my problem w/ dimming w/ headlights. Thanks to filegator and idj.martzian t turned out to be a strange combo of settings. I had to turn off button LEDS in system settings then go into display and set it to auto. Now my button LEDS light up w/ the head lights and my screen dims. Thanks guys.

Does anyone know how to restore a nandroid backup from online nandroid backup from recovery like you would on a phone? I cannot figure it out. I've been playing around w/ it a ton and also using nandroid manager w/ no luck.

**EDIT**
I just gave up and installed TWRP recover, must easier to deal with and a much better interface.. Going to play w/ the backup options as it doesn't seem to want to backup data (Shows 0MB)

Thanks
Dave
Do have a link to install twrp.? I've been looking around and anything I've found doesn't make sense

Thanks

do you have a 1080 display? Also bear in mind TWRP will not actually work properly for backup/restore on our devices

Do you have a 31xx or 30xx cpu? I can give you the 1080 TWRP and you can at least see how it looks. Worse case you revert to stock recovery.

I could use some advice. My HU has been acting odd the last week or so. It would throw out "no music" after starting but otherwise work fine. Then Car Launcher would keep trying to replace the KLD launcher. I haven't driven much in the last two days, but the HU would go through a boot loop a few times and sometimes be stable.

This morning, it wouldn't get out of the boot loop. I tried to use the backup I made but it wouldn't run. I tried to go back to the Joying OEM ROM but it shows failure-the SD card isn't recognized. So, I downloaded the Malaysk February update and loaded it on a USB stick. It's not being recognized, either.

Currently, when the ignition switch is on, the screen stays black for 60-90 seconds and then I get the "no music" toast over the radio display. None of the controls work, either. It's a RK3188 1024X600 Joying JY-UQ-128 touch screen) and I was last on Malaysk March 17 ROM. I did try to search this forum but all I got back was the entire thread.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have 30xx. But no use if you can't restore a nandroid that's all I want it for. I finally have my hu set up so that everything works and power amp doesn't pause/ stutter any more

Mine doesn't have any control for the led's.
Its either on or off with the head unit.
Do you know how yours is hardwired ?
I'm wondering if there is something I can do like that for mine.

P.S. Next reply will be the 3000'th post on the 300'th page :p

You can turn the lights always on in factory settings but I believe you cannot auto dim w/ headlights then. (Auto goes away, or did for me)

Yeah I'd love it if it would and if I could back up from TWRP but I just can't.

Could you please post the server apk. My unit won't install over adb to my phone for some reason.... Yes USB adb is enabled and I granted privileges.

Guys, I have found how to solve the Mirror function not working stating that you have 0 activations. It is not needed to put any file anywhere.
I have two phones (LG G4 and Huawey Nexus 6P), both on Marshmallow (6.0.1) and both work perfectly fine with the 3.4.X version of the Easy connected app. Using USB or WiFi connection.
The only needed action is to uninstall the old server app FROM YOUR PHONE.

If you have ever tried the old (or even a newer version) of the easy connected app to connect your phone, it installs two apps in your phone. An "easy connected server" app and a Drive Mode App(or something in Chinese letters).
The drive mode is just a stupid app that is supposed to have a car interface, you can safely unninstall it after it is installed. The server App is the one that is very important. It is the one responsible for sending the screen information from the phone to the HU, and also to receive the touch information from the HU.
The old server version installed on your phone is the one giving you trouble. And it is giving these certificate errors.

Whenever you are trying to install a new version of the EasyConnected app, remember to uninstall the old version of the server app (on your phone) and then restart the process.
If I had this info earlier, it would save me a lot of trouble.

The server App does not appear in the normal App drawer, you have to go to:
Settings->Applications->all installed to find it. Simply click it and choose to uninstall. (Easy Connected Server)

After that, restart the process to connect your phone again (remember, the first time you have to use the USB connnection) and it will be installed again. It even auto-update itself after installation.
Also remember that you have to have USB debbuging (under developer options) active all the time.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give you all the info necessary. I'll also let some words below so people can find this post in search.

EasyConnected, Easy connected, Mirror function, mirroring, display

If I helped you, please click on Thanks button ;)
