Who is the original manufacturer? I've experienced with Pumpkin that the WiFi doesn't work
with Malaysk FW or any other non-original FW. In the meantime, take a USB WiFi modem and test if you get connected using
the rear USB connectors. In my case it works although the factory WiFi doesn't work.
Really?..Mines from Pumpkin and wifi works, but has always been pretty weak signal, (Stock rom and Malaysk's)

Maybe Malaysk or any of our Russian friends can figure out what's different
between Pumpkin and Malaysk's FW concerning WiFi.
Bad WiFi reception is a known issue from long time ago. Earlier threads like this, for example ....
So, I think lot of Pumpkin owners have problems with this, but Pumpkin not the only one .... Another fact, that Pumkin is just a reseller company.

If You can post a picture, from your's HU back ..... - it could be much easier to define the manufacturer of HU. Usually, it is an easiest way, becouse each manufacturer use another type of MCU board with back sockets-line, and other shape of back plate ...

I have 3 pcs KLD (Klyde) unit, but I also having problems with the wifi reception, independently to use the stock-ROM, or Malaysk version. I think, the only way to do a much better WiFi, if I soldering a bigger WiFi antenna onto my motherboards. The factory installed is too little, and placed inside of the HU metal box ..... - not a good combination.....

I am envious. Believe me... ;) Have to pay at least 12€ for a ~1Gb 3G connection here in germany just for the cheapest distributor. ~45€ for unlimited 4G. Would not be too much surprised if it's the same carrier but just another country....
Hah in Poland we have quite a good offer for a car - ca. 14 EUR per year with a 1GB monthly transfer that sums itself if not fully used on previous month :) Just perfect.

I have found today in a Russian Forum something I would like to have with me.
Here is the link:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=557670&view=findpost&p=44406721
Unfortunately I can not register there to download the file to load or to write to the person.
What I also find very cool is the changed status bar as shown in this link:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=704299&view=findpost&p=45441157
Unfortunately, I can download any of these files.
But perhaps the one of you?
Maybe I can also someone the status bar so adjust the fit to Malaysk new red design?

Well, it might be a language problem, but this above is not the problem. In my case and like it looks even in the other guy's case it's working
or not working. With the original Pumpkin FW and the original extended antenna, WiFi is good, better than with no extended antenna, like old HU's.
I've have the new motherboard in my latest unit. I've four old units with no problem what so ever.
If a load Malaysk's FW it stops working, nada. If I re-load original FW it starts working.

As I wrote, the external USB works fine with Malaysk's FW, but not the internal.

So now I've tried it with this "Stock Rom" http://huifei.fs-fileserver.de/content/firmware/KK 4.4.4 Quadcore (Factory & DSA Rooted)/KLD 4.4.4/800x480/KLD 800x480 20150820 Factory/ but also no success. Is this the right one (I've got a KLD6 Device so I chosed the KLD)? If yes, I guess my WiFi is just dead :(
It happened to me too...I cannot believe that WiFi and 3g died just like this after an update..I think it still is an software issue.

Guys, unfortunately, I promised to put the firmware today. But I am very sick, and now I have a temperature of 39.4 (my whole family got sick). I can lay out a preliminary firmware!!! for 800X480 rk3066.
1. Android base on March 23, 2016
2. Restored serial number unit ( in Settings)
3. The OEM application is added to 5 different color themes of regular applications.
Installation - just run the the installation file, and it is established as an upgrade.
Removal - go to Settings - Applications - Remove the update.
4. Icon - Last used applications - in the status bar is always visible
5. Many other additions.

PS: I ran TomTom - I have everything worked (only need to download maps through WiFi).

I can not turn wifi on, how can I check it?
That's a problem...:(
If you can't even keep on the wifi only for the time needed for checking the system info, I suspect that probably you've lost the MAC address of the wifi module, and then the wifi can't be turned on at all.

Maybe it might be possible to verify in some other way the value of the MAC address.
