You will need to provide more information about your unit. Specifically the MTC information found in the about screen of the settings. Take a look at the second page of this thread to see an image of what your looking for. Also once you find this information a bit of searching through the threads will yield all of the information on if there is firmware available, and if so what you should be using. I understand that it is time consuming to read through all of the threads that could help you, but it will be worth it, you will find all of the information you need and be able to help yourself when you run into problems this time, and next time.

We cant tell your screen res from that, but apart from that, yes. You can downoad apps to check your screen res if youre not 100% you have the 1024x600 version.

The brand is not Pumpkin, they are simply sellers, the brand is Klyde - "MTCB KLD" = Klyde.

Hi,

probably i'll change from MTCB to a tablet based system (Nexus 7 2013 running 6.1.1), due to the lack of sensors in MTCB Devices, a better (brighter) display and hopefully better audio output via USB and external DAC. At the other side, fm tuner is a difficult thing with the nexus.

What i will miss most is the MTCscreenclock wich i really like (carbon orange).
Will there be any way to make it work under 6.11 stock (with a custom kernel). It does'nt need to be a screensafer, i could even work with a app or a (big) widget.

Thanks a lot, Michael

The screen resolution is 1024x600, I did select the ROM for RK3188 1024x600, I have put "Update" image on SD card outside of any folder, along with the 3 files for MPH.

Do you think this will help with the issue that is causing my head unit to not connect to OBD2 Bluetooth adapters?

Is anyone having trouble install the FUSE versions of the ROM? I tried to flash the lastest FUSE version (June 26 2016) and it won't go past the car logo. The non-FUSE version works, however.

Success and failure

I successfully installed this ROM on my head unit... Unfortunately, the music player seems to not work well. I cannot move the speaker positions, it doesn't seem to go through all of my speakers and my subwoofer is not getting any signal.

I don't know how to go backwards from this ROM to my old one, is there a way to get my old "EQ" program back at least?

For some reason, after installing the new rom, everything works but my radio. It cannot find any station and it does not seem like any sounds is even coming out. My Bluetooth connection works and sounds fine. Anyone ran into this issue? If so, any resolution?

I think it might be the MCU settings because now my radio has no reception. Anyone know the MCU settings for the Radio for the Pumpkin KD-C0224. It's KLD running on KLD v.2.78

You could try an older MCU. That might help your problem. Just be absolutely certain it's the correct one for your unit.

Is your phone connected as well? I was unable to connect to OBD2 when I had connected my phone first. Go onto Bluetooth settings and forget all devices. Then plug in your OBD2 adapter and pair/connect to that first and then your phone or whatever else afterwards. Hope that helps.

No, nothing was connected to Bluetooth, the obd2 dongle was the only thing showing on the Bluetooth menu when I searched.

I think I made a big mistake, because I don't see any way to return to the original android 4.4.4 system that came on my head unit. Please help if you can, is there a ROM to flash back to the original android that my head unit came with?

When you get this ROM working, you won't want to return to stock. Believe me. Try a clean install with full wipe. That should resolve your BT issues if clearing out the data from the BT app itself doesn't work.

Also, what is your PIN for your OBD? Some of these ROMs require 0000 or 1234 in order to connect to it.

It never gets that far, the device shows on the list, I press on it, then when I press connect, nothing happens.

Dont stress about making a mistake, You can always find the stock rom for your device and reflash.

As flieswithhawks has mentioned, when you get this one working you will not want to go back. :good:
Where can I find the stock Rom?

I do appreciate all the help you all are offering. I definitely don't mean to sound like I don't like the software, the developer is awesome for sharing this with everyone. I changed the rom because I read a bunch of posts that suggested it might help with the Bluetooth issue that is common between these MCTB head units and obd2 Bluetooth adapters. I don't have any issues with either stock or this the devastated rom, other than If I could get the Bluetooth/obd2 working, everything would be spectacular. It's a brand new car and I've been having such an headache just getting things the way I want them. The stock rom equalizer worked fine and I could adjust the percentage of sound to the speakers, but on this rom it's not doing much at all and it's really upsetting because I can't stand horrible sound adjustments. I just don't know how to get the stock rom to go back to it if I can't get this working.

When your OBD device shows up in your Bluetooth settings, does it contain OBD in its name? This is required or else will not connect to it. If not, there is an Xposed module that allows for changing this (MTC car app I believe?) Also the PIN settings I mentioned earlier are as well. Is your adapter a quality one or cheapo?

Make sure you go into Settings->Apps->Bluetooth and then clear all data. Power off unit and make sure it's off completely. Then plug in your adapter and reboot.

I had this same issue with mine earlier in the year. If you are successful after trying this please respond.

Yea , i have tried a lower MCU with no success.
Firstly there is no such thing as a Pumpkin unit, Pimpkin are sellers only, they sell Klyde units. You have a Klyde. You dont need to downgrade your MCU, you need to upgrade to either MTCB KLD5 v2.85 or MTCC KLD6 v2.91. After flashing the MCU try al tuner types in factory settings, also make sure radio is set to Europe not China. MCUs are here :

So, I can flash 2.91 on my head unit, if it came with 2.86?

As long as its a KLD, it doesnt work on all units, but theres a way round it if it doesnt work. Units need an MTCC MCU to run the latest L ROM, see here :

In other thread (about new LP Closed) there are some info on how to extract recovery partition from ROM image. Ask people there for hints how to push it via ABD if possible. Also you may ask around for TWRP recovery (you will need USB keyboard / mouse as it is not supporting touch screen).

After fixing recovery, download my and Ron again. Make two independent downloads and validate that both copies are identical to be sure you have good copy.

Unfortunately ROMs published here don't have md5 checksum. So you have to use above tricks to be o the safe side.
I don't know how, but on Saturday it finally booted up after God knows how many cycles. I had basically just been driving around since Friday, not even paying attention to the headunit anymore (and crying internally), then all of a sudden I noticed it rebooted but it went into the usual boot animation (in my case a Ford logo) and it then took me into the Android UI. It's been working fine so far and I've installed may of my usual apps.

I still don't know why it worked (since I didn't do anything at all to it), but it did.
