If this is the only thing that is not working after updating without wiping the data - I can live with that.
@Malaysk - can you shed some light regarding updating to the newest version without loosing all of the settings?

Hi,

Just a quick question please:
I ordered and received today the RK3188 SoM in order to upgrade my RK3066 unit.
Should I first flash the RK3188 ROM before opening the unit and switching the card?
Or should I first switch the card and only afterwards flash the RK3188 ROM?
Or maybe it doesn't matter? :)

Thanks!

EDIT:

Just found this post so I guess this answer my question :)

Upgrade to RK3188 is very easy
remove the top metal with 3 screws,
remove the old SOM held in place with 2 screws,
unplug the old
plug in the new and screws, turn on and install your favorite ROM.

Ringtone for bluetooth

Hi,

in previous Malaysk ROMs, especially from april towards, I could use this tweak:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66344944&postcount=3012

to change my Bluetooth ringtone. It worked.

Now, on latest ROM from June (RK3188), it doesn't work anymore.

The ring.mp3 is copied to /mtc successfully, it has the right permissions and can be played but when I receive a call nothing happens, no ringtone, no sound / music for ringtone.
I'm using the same ringtone file I used before in other previous ROMs and it worked.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you tried version 4 of the Malaysk 5.1.1 for your res? I find it to be working well.
i've it allready installed. In my way this is a perfect thing but i habe a bought poweramp. I've tried to skip the songs but the forward/backbutton on the steering wheel is not working in poweramp. In the other programs such as media player they do!!!

Been preparing a big Joying stock for a Flash Sale that is going on now.

And busy with other fun things in life :D but I do keep an eye when I can on the forum.
I am following it. great work! I am sure Malaysk will include them at some point in his ROM.
He said he removes the check altogether (unlike dsa who fools it) but all his ROMs are based on older factory ones.

I have an Eonon GA5163F (RK3188 800x480) that I installed Clockworkmod recovery on for the purpose of taking a nandroid backup before flashing anything. All the files I have found for flashing Malaysk contain update.img which I cannot seem to flash in clockworkmod recovery. Is there any way to flash using an update.zip instead of update.img? Sorry if the question has been answered before, I google searched and came up with no relevant info.

Pretty sure you cant cos Rockchip chips need to be updated with a .img file. You cant flash MCUs either, which is why custom recoveries arent used much on MTCB/B units.

(You dont have an Eonon - "GA5163F" is a made up name by Eonon - they are sellers only, they sell units from a variety of manufacturers, to find out what type of unit you have go to settings/about device - the 2 or 3 letters after "MTCB" will tell you what unit you have.
