yeah, it was said regarding the update but if someone was changing his SD filesystem to have statusbar mod working - he could simply forget about it as I did

and btw. while dealing with my issue described above, I have updated the ROM and the MCU for the first time as well. Previously I had GS v. 2.08 (the stock one), now I have GS v. 2.73 and I noticed one big improvement - now sleep mode is working almost as it should. Finally, HU is being put into the sleep mode while taking the keys off for the time I chose in the settings, but funny thing is that the backlight of all physical buttons is still on in that period of time. I was not changing any wires so the issue of not being able to sleep was MCU firmware related I think. So the last question is - how can I force the backlight to be off while in a sleep mode?

Hi again,
something very bad happened to my HU today with the latest Oct Malaysk ROM...
Everything was working fine today morning but now - after turning on the igition my HU won't boot. Instead I can only see recovery screen with the following info:

Volume up/down or short power button to move highlight:
Long power button to select:
 
reboot system now
update system/mcu image from sdcard
update system/mcu image from sdcard and clear all
update system/mcu image from usb
update system/mcu image from usb and clear all
wipe all data/factory and cache reset
recovery system from backup
 
recovery system v4.4.43
failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (no such device)
failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (no such device)
failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (no such device)

It happened suddenly, I was not messing with anything before, no updates, no new installs - it simply doesn't work anymore without a reason. I was trying removing SD card from both slots but nothing changes....

It seems that no storage is visible, no matter if it is external or internal - system is not booting. Is it a hardware related issue or there is anything I can do to have it repaired?

I had this issue. Had to wipe a few times and then install. Reset everything. The only way I could get it to work

Maybe stupid question but how can I set a the steering wheel. Button to open a app?

mtc-keys (xposed) will allow you to change hardware keys
If using canbus, you cannot change keys. If using sw connections, you can use the built in editor

i face an issue with last firm (october) with my 4.4.4 RK1366 unit.
Indeed, when i make a phone call through bluetooth i have only sound in the right loudspeaker.

Is it a bug or can i set stereo for calling?

that is related to MCU update, not ROM.
that happened to me after I updated MCU from JY-2.73 -> 2.83
(its better for mic sensitivity but "worse" for ears, its stock setup in BMW E91 with Proffesional Audio/Navi for example)

I think that this important info should be added to the 1st post and to the new ROM installation guides:

1) To update the ROM - it has to be put on FAT32 formatted SD card and inserted on GPS slot
2) To have Statusbar Mod working - /mtc-statusbar/status_bar.ini has to be put on NTFS formatted SD card and inserted on GPS slot

that would be good to solve in better way so one filesystem should be used for both, because for example somebody use the same card for ROM folders (MTC-folders) and update.img. Than statusbar.ini is not working good (back button hidden but home button stays visible).
I will move update.img to USB drive because it can also be selected in Recovery as mounted source for ROM update

GPS slot problem

Hello,
I have a problem with my GPD slot, it stopped to work, and I'm afraid it's a hardware issue.
Not only it doesn't see the SD card itself, it doesn't even detect mounting and unmountig the card
So, my navigation software and MTC folders situated on the GPS card are not working anymore.
Is there any way to put them on the USB slot (which works OK) to make the system fully operational again?
(It's a RK3066 unit mounted in Chevy Cruze, using Malaysk firmware, of course)

I finally got this to work on my Joying unit. My OBD dongle is named CHX, so in the exposed module I entered that. It still wouldn't connect. Then the other day after I upgraded to the latest malaysk image I ran the bluetooth app. It also has a spot to put the OBD dongle name. Once that was done it connected.

Yes! I also updated the ROM so I could name the device (mine's called "Cafu"), using the "telephone" app, then paired it and it instantly worked! Both my phone and the OBD2 device are paired silmultaneously now.
Now I have my system working as expected and as it should

First time using PCV STARTUP BUILDER and I have enabled:
Jetaudio player play at startup
Speed cameras (Tom Tom version)

But speedcameras app won't start.

Anyone help?

Install MTCXposed.

You dont have a Pumpkin head unit, Pumpkin are just resellers, to find out what unit you have go to settings/about device, the 2 or 3 digit letter code before "MCU" will tell you.

Gosh, darn.. did you download the rom and read the directions.
Oh, sorry, installation instructions from the 1st post.
And do a search about 000 on display.
You probably did not copy any folders.

Managed to find out the issue, as my touch screen is having issues I used a wireless mouse instead. The system detected it as a physical keyboard and automatically disabled virtual keyboard. Any idea how to disable physical keyboard lock? Thanks

Well you're right on one count: I did read the instructions but in my haste forget to actually move the folders to the root directory, so I didn't follow them

No luck on the bluetooth. Been having issues since the summer on the Jan ROM. HU reset itself 3 times and the last time my bluetooth stopped working altogether. Anyone have a suggestion for the bluetooth not allowing buttons on HU or radio to work?
