for who have time i have a challenge.
photo instead of name for radio station.
For me, photos will take valuable memory, units if not FUSE have less 1 g mem, while fuse extends this max. Adding apps and other stuff takes away them memory.
I would rather have space for movies and songs than a icon image of the station.
Unless RDS has it embedded in its signal, but I think the RDS on the radio is limited

I think these units and customised apps have too much graphics anyway. Design is legacy, like 3d buttons etc. It was modern 10-15 years ago and now days everyone knows it is unergonomic. Too much, too cluttered. It is not helping perifferal vision and fast and focused observation which is main point for auxiliary unit in car (as the eye on the road is supreme need not both eyes in Hu lurking for infotainment).

Well, most of the people don't have that understanding and most of them are considering HU UI as smartphone. They are neglecting main point that smartphone you use when you don't do anything else while HU you use while driving. Thus it is fundamentally different context and thus car industry is developing specific and ergonomic (simplistic) UI layout and design for infotainment systems.

Sorry for long and probably boring post. But I really hope someone will realise the direction in which development and customisation of those units should go. Too much time and effort is wasted around here with still having too many people feeling there is something missing. And the point is that filling missing is done through clearing too much clutter not adding more of it.

I share your opinion about the UI, 3D buttons etc, but you cant say "should" like everyone has to do it your way, its Android, it very customisable, so the only "should" that should apply is that each user "should" have their unit in the way they want - if they want loads of clutter and 3D buttons, thats what they "should" have, if they dont, like you and I, then we should have no 3D buttons and simple displays.

Well.... By 'should' I meant something more complex that just pushing my taste to everyone else. I'm not even thinking about that.

From legal point of view, the usage of device in car is subject to laws and regulations. And you know that using a mobile phone is illegal while driving? So it is not just free will or taste that governs usage.

And from some point of view there is also responsibility of producer not to build and allow irresponsible user to misuse device or tool. It is participating in risk of posing damage or injury to third person.

While here we are far away of legal challenges, as most of this area is not legally clear or defined in reality anyhow (it is more in domain of good business ethics and practice), I just appeal on developers and users to pay attention on ergonomy and safety beside pleasability.

But I don't expect too much attention to this boring subject in this vibrant community. Until someone hits windshield while poking on his HU vibrant UI while driving....

I have the same issue with lockclock.apk, but when I check the folder the apk is in there so I'm not sure why I get that error. Also when I touch the weather section of the screenclock that is when I see it. The weather shows fine just the odd error.

i will check for you, i only use newer jy i think

Ok, installed and weather came up ok. I did install Go Weather too.. But I find it to be incorrect. Said 36 degrees while it was 46 or so.

I like the one JY newer I think it is, default.
No errors BTW.

Latest version good or not?
I've only had one issue. I had a weird boot where the boot logo was something I had never seen before, and I couldn't access factory settings, it said password incorrect. I rebooted and all was normal again. Seemed to have went somewhere else for a bit.

Today I installed it and everything works great except my buttons (as in rom before) for volume (left) and fw/rw (right). Scroll is not working but push is working (left button = mute; right button = play/pause).
Also, statusbar height is weird.. like too small. And in maximized apps like chrome or waze, there is black thick horizontal line between statusbar and app (like statusbar is too short and pixels missing).
Its noticeable with my next launcher because I have set gradient statusbar from dark-orange to transparent because it matches bmw interior.

Edit: now I searched I found that its possibly connected with DPI.
What DPI value is set by default and which one is the best for rk3188 1024x600 resolution?
Tnx :)

EDIT: Nevermind. I didn't see it was only for 3066. I'll wait :)

I've tried a couple of times now to flash the 2/18/2017 800x480 but it isn't being recognized as a firmware file in recovery. I'm re-downloading now and will post back if it works.
