hi!
I'm using an old (as for today) device by Eonon - model GA5151T for Mazda 3 (2007), S07, MTCB-KLD-2.78, chipset RK3066, and - even after trying custom ROMs - this can be laggy as hell.. so I started to think, if there's any way to make ROM slimmer. let me explain
first of all - I'm no developer, so I definetely can't do it by my own.
I don't need anything fancy on my unit - no special launcher, no special apps. I'm dreaming about a ROM that consists ONLY from the simplest launcher there is (I use NovaLauncher on my all devices anyway, bought the PRIME version, so I use built-in launcher just few seconds after installing - just to open Play Store and install Nova), basic GApps package (only what's needed to open & use Google Play Store is sufficient).
the whole rest I can install by hand: Google Maps & Google Music, local traffic and speed-camera info app -
Yanosik, maybe some online-radio (as I use online-streaming only anyway) and that's mostly it. oh, and of course "small improvements" or other misc apps needed for "normal" functioning - like (probably) xposed mods to remap/redirect buttons, options to configure drivewheel buttons, audio balance etc.
AFAIK there's no ROM with just that - am I wrong?
if I'm right, do you think that it's possible to prepare "the latest and greatest" chopped version, like the one I'm looking for? I'm guessing (and remember: I'm not a developer, so I can be terribly wrong) that it should be rather easy to cut-out the additional apps, that are just apps, and not a "system-needed-programms", maybe changing the launcher to something very light could be a problem, but seeing other magic that is done here on XDA, I'm thinking that it's not totally impossible
any thoughts on that?
