I would not recommend doing this. Most manuf (Joying also) had a hardware upgrade in order to use 5.1 so logic would dictate it'll brick your unit going backwards.

Loads of us upgraded to the newer firmware and like this guy our units just can't handle the newer firmware and went backwards to a more stable firmware without any issues what so ever.

Ok I am wrong then. Things must have changed since the 4.4.4 Joying HW I had. I know they were bricking and Joying was sending out 5.1.1 HW kits in order to upgrade.

"Because your car radio is Android 4.4, and for all of our Android 5.1 system, in order to improve our product, we have change some in our mother board and core board, so the hardware also different from Android 4.4, your head unit can upgrade to Android 5.1, but need change mother board and core board, also need firmware upgraded. For Android 4.4 customers, we will help them to upgrade, but need time also may need some fees, not sure now, pls wait more time and waiting for our factory's decision."

I'm using ROM version 23 with MicroG on RK3188 800X480 GS HU. I would like to know if the current weather status is updated only with internet connection, or it is also possible juste using GPS informations?

Another question: there is a way to make GPS Navigation (IGO) louder ? In fact the voice of the radio is much more louder than the IGO indications, even if the voice in IGO is on its maximum (using the mixed voices options in the ROM)

Audio - in factory setting you can set separat level of radio and system loudness. This way you can make navi louder.

Could you please tell me how should be configured in the ROM (version 23 with MicroG on RK3188 800X480 GS HU), the delay to enter the screensaver mode display (with speed, clock etc.) ? It seems to me that it is entering screen saver mode so fast, even if the navigation is used, so I thought to change the delay, if it is possible? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure. I blocked screesaver with Total Commander App (to freeze) and I don't use it. Speed and clock You have at the main screen in the launcher.

In my case, on the main screen I have the weather, the radio and some basic apps icons. But during the navigation, it switches on the "half-moon" status bar icon mode, where I have an analogic clock, and current speed. You have freezed this screen option?

Is it possible to change on the main screen for exemple the weather by the speed?

As I wrote, I haven't screensaver. I think, that all cars with such radio (but not with Android) haven't something that - screensaver. When I listen the radio I will to see RDS. So, I don't need screensaver. Because that, I can't answer your another questions.
At the main screen You can change the place (city) of weather and supplier (source). For example google or another. All that in settings - weather.

I think that I've found the solution in the "mtc_manager" folder from the SD card. There are here two files with parameters: 'settings' and 'ss_exceptions', as follows

settings:

I think that the screenTimeout parameter need to be changed if we want other delay for the activation of the screensaver. But, defining screenClock=false, I think will deactivate the screensaver.
I wonder which line need to be added in the 'ss_exception', in order to take into account the running navigation APP ? It could be: com.microntek.navi ? or com.android.navi? or something else?

Do you have any idea how can be set another screensaver, I mean there are some predefined versions in the ROM (and where they are) ?

I've downloaded RK3066 800X480 version 46 with official Google services of July 22, 2018.

When I use the music app, it is possible to skip tracks correctly with the app forward and backward buttons. Unfortunately, when I want to skip tracks with the hardware button or with the steering wheel buttons, it skips everytime two tracks forward or backward.

In the spotify app, it works fine and there is no problem.

Here the system information:

Hello,
I would like to ask for some recommendations related to an issue that I have with my Pumpkin Android Hear Unit S07: I flashed the latest Malaysk 4.4 ROM on my device and noticed that from time to time the unit does not want to boot on key ignition. I can get it started by using the combination of Power Button and Reset (for 5 sec) and then Power Button (5 sec), and booted into recovery. But then, when I select reboot, the unit starts and auto power off immediately after the launcher starts.
Do I have any solution to stop the auto power off option on this ROM?

I've downloaded and installed the new version 2.18 of MTC service (RK3066 HeadUnit) from the mtc-service repository:
https://petro.ws/s/mtc-service/

In the settings of "control methods" I've selected only "Spotify" and "PCRadio".
Now, it works fine for me.

Try before you update mtc-service to change the settings. Perhaps it works with the current version.

Just FYI, I moved along, went to Malaysk 5.1.1 (with microGApps and RAMEXTENDER from Play Store) with working "3G" modem without having to use PPP Widget (4G LTE but shows as 3G) and seriously thinking about upgrading to 2GB. So far I can run Maps (the new update killed it on 4.4.4 and on 5.1.1 but with the setup I did I am able to run it fine and also run Chrome, another memory hog since these latest updates, with only 1GB and 1GB of swap extended RAM - reason why I'm really thinking about upgrading to 2GB and then running 2GB of extended RAM - should put the radio in an almost perfect, stutter free experience. Any recommendations for the 2GB upgrade or any link where they can do the upgrade for me for a fair price?

I'm using ROM version 23 with MicroG on RK3188 800X480 GS HU. I would like to know if it would be possible (and how) to display the name of the artist and the song title on those radio stations which are allowing this feature?
I disabled RDS on the factory settings (as suggested in the ROM's description). This could be related on that, or something else? I'm interested on the radio station's display of the informations about songs, I didn't tried on mp3 songs or others.
