Do you mean to pull out of system/app the old one and push in the new one?

If you're talking to me, I wrote rename the old file in system/app. Copy the new file to system/app. Install it with roorexplorer and reset.

I install Update 4.4.4 for Android joying RK3188 800x480 but I have the touch that is reversed from left to right have you ever had the same problem?

Have you tried disabling, temporarily, the mtc bluetooth module in xposed installer. That for some reason prevents contacts from being downloaded.

I've tried them all without succes..
Like i tried to explain yesterday, the touch buttons seem to have no effect at all except 1. The powerbutton turns on and off the screen, but i can still hear the unit running. It's not a real power button. The reset button immediately turns off the machine and after 2 seconds were back at loading screen.

1 Press reset button and power button together
2 After about 5 secs release reset button, but keep pressing power button
3 When booting screen appears release power button.
4 It boots into recovery.

* some units without front USB have a different procedure
Firstly power on the unit and then long press the power button and then reset. Then the unit will get three rings and you loose your hand on the power button and short press the power button again. (thanx @netay)

*some others have this procedure (thanx @R4D3N)
1. Turn off the unit by holding 3-4 sec the power button.
2. Hold the RESET button + POWER button for 5 sec
3. Release the RESET button and keep pressing the POWER button for 2 sec
4. Release the POWER button and wait. The Recovery menu appears.
5. With the Volume knob you can move up/down and long press on Volume/Power button to select the option

*press reset button when screen goes dark quickly release reset button and press again unitl recover screen appears

press n hold the reset button till u see the recovery menu. You need to copy the update.img file into sdcard n put it on gps slot in order to update.

Your unit seem to be the same unit as mines [emoji2] .......

Sdcard dead, luckily had a back up card.

Put update.img on the card and put it in gps slot.

I've been holding the reset button for 3 minutes but still nothing comes up
After releasing it just starts up to boot logo again..

I have a similar type (touch button) not as yours but when i use the reset button i have to hold it until the touch button lights go out then release and it will boot up with the boot logo screen but it will boot into recovery right after it disappears.

For Rk3188 1024x600 - the default is the density of the screen 230 dpi
Do not put the screen density of 240 dpi !!!

I've installed the last 10th january ROM on my Rk3188 800x480 unit and I was finally free from the 1g or 2g limitation of the system partition. Thanks so much!!!
Regarding the 3g/4g problems people was having, I found a solution that worked with my 4g Huawei E392 pen.

I searched for files beginning with usbxxxx in /system/bin and /system/xbin. Found 3 files like usbmodeswitch.xxx and moved them to a backup folder or just renamed it to .old with ES Explorer. Then I've used PPP widget (the discontinued version on Google Play) since the PPP widget 2 version didnt found my modem. Reboot the unit after changing the name of the usbmodexxx files and the PPP widget will detect your modem and work very well. In PPP widget you will need to put the APN configurations and then I think almost any 3g/4g pen will work like mine.

Regarding this new firmware, do you plan to do it also for 800x480 rk3188 version? Do you think that we still need to use this workaround?

Nice find, I will. Im using a phone and wifi tether router but I will pull my rusty 4G LTE E3276 and try it. T-Mobile added free tethering and modem now uses this so I only get 10GB a month, after that I guess I can switch to phone/wtr

Did you rename the old file and did you copy the new one into system/app/. I've done it that way in four units
all work fine. Remove your copy, rename the old one back again. Reset and try it my way. Don't fiddle with privileges.
It's not needed.

For some weird reason i had to search using ny zip code instead of my city which was weird but i got it working thank you all who pitched in to help

I'll be damned, it worked, nice!

I got 21 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. AND it didn't use my hotspot, so I get unlimited 4G LTE.
