What for ? The forum 4pda have long understood 3g modem (always interrupted connection) - bad - 4g WiFi very good for our devices :D
Are you talking about something like this?

Ive used one of these which works better than USB stick, but how do you keep it charged?
Mine lasts 2 or 3 days then needs recharging

Thank you for the new release, so far so good!

I am looking for a way to blank the screen by the touch of a button, and it stay blank even if you adjust the volume. The older version had a screen blank hotkey on the status bar (blanked screen but came back on if you hit the volume), but it seems to be gone now.

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem . When i plugged out the ODBII controller and removed my caroo software the problem was solved.
Thanks Buddy, this is exactly what I needed. My radio works with wifi now. Just unplugged my ODBII and all worked. Have to try the mike still but damn I am so glad my radio works now. U are the man of the day in my mind. Was just a simple answer, given as advise not that old look at the thread **** that we all see. I was so tired of reading the forum and googling and getting zero places.

This is the same problem I have with most fora. You have 2 types of users. 1 :the profs who know the system and the fora inside out and who find that the "other' users just should study the forum. 2: the occasional users who just want an answer to they're question and are having a headache searching trough 100's of pages of information they don't understand the greatest part of. Always try to answer a question short and clear please. If you answered with. .. We answered this before, please search yourself. .You don't help anyone.

I need some assistance please. my 800x480 radio has worked great. all the roms always updated. tell the last two updates. the one from a few days ago and the one before that.

Just unzipped it and placed it on included sd, always worked b4. Goes through whole install flawlessly. but never boots. even with clear all data selected.

Some new step I'm missing? On one else seems to say anything. thanks. quite a bummer. To start commuting all pumped up for new features and it never gets past the boot loop. ahaha. cell phone tunes for 45 minutes.
Get the original ROM and install, then re-install the new ROM. Remember from a clean install you must wipe twice, once on initial install then then after restart another wipe.

Yes, the analog video output is managed directly by the DVD player.

As you might have noticed, all the analog video signals (backup camera and aux video in) are managed independently from the Android OS, at a lower hardware level.
Unfortunately no digital-to-analog video conversion component is available in the HU to output the Android desktop screen.
I learned this the hard way :(
This is why a dascam on the AV input gives nice video but is never available in any app.

I purchased a extra USB power module that i builded in the car on a 12V line switched by the contact. Works fina and you can hide de module.

Hey Malaysk, I'm very happy with the last update. But I have a suggestion for the next update. I've seen most head units that have dedicated subwoofer outputs, have bass bosst or bass volume controls. Would it be possible to mod the equalizer app, to give us control of the sub out volume?

No it would not.
But there is a hardware mod for that, just read hardware forum.

Looking into installing this rom on my Joying unit. Do I have to install it from a SD Card or will a USB/flash drive work?
If your MCU version is not too old I would not mess with it. Just install update.img you can put it on the GPS card or USB 1 and use ABOUT MACHINE, UPDATE or boot into recovery mode and install from there.

USB is also ok, there are 2 ports, the one that is for 3G dongle is used only for that or phone screen mirroring.
Use the one that is for USB data and its marked with elipse in the end.

MCU should be JY-2.73, thats the latest,
If so you don't need to update it.
