Hi!
I have a Pumpkin unit (KLD6).
Used Malaysk rom 4.4.4 before. I'm having the same issues on both ROMs (4.4.4 and 5.1). Maybe someone can help me with that.
  • 3G Connection somtimes works but usually not. I can see the network icon futno data connection.
  • Touch screen sometimes is not respondiong until hard reset. Other physical buttons works fine.
  • Making calls on bluetooth is impossible, the other side is not hearing me fine.

Thank you all
I'm having the exact same issue with the mobile data connection. It usually does not work and I must reboot the device 1-3 times before it will work. I have not tried toggling airplane mode as someone else has suggested. I will try that next time I drive my car. But it has been a near constant problem since installing the latest ROM. Thank you.

From the pictures in the first page I can see a different radio appearance. How can I change the one that install automatically with this rom?
If you mean the 1st thumbnail with the radio and clock, go to settings\home and select a different 'Launcher'.
I'm using the 'Launcher JY 511' and mine looks like the
1st thumbnail picture. Try the others and see which one you like the best. I'm also using the 2cd FUSE 5.1.1 rom of Malaysk's because of problems with the 3rd one.

Hi, will this ROM work on the MTCC Pumpkin model?
Don't think so. First post states for the MTCB units. Ask Malaysk if he's done one for the MTCC units....

Do anyone have VPN issue? My VPN connects (OpenConnect) but no internet. This VPN works well on stock 4.4 and on my phone.
You know, in China you need a VPN to reach Google...

Hi,

just installed the Rom on a Pumpkin RQ0276E, MTCC-KLD6-V2.91, rk3188, 1024x600
Before, Malaysk ROM 4.4.4 was installed.

There was no way to install it without wiping data and cache, but even after that, the unit has a kind of strange behaviour:
After a reboot by the soft poerbutton in the statusbar or by cutting voltage it mostly hangs. Sometimes on a black screen, sometimes with the dancing droid, sometimes with the initial boot Screen. If i go to the recovery menu by the reset button and initiate a reboot, everything is fine - til the unit has to boot again.

I made 3 new installations - from recovery and from the Systm menu, with or without wiping. Every time the same effect, so i will go back to 4.4.4.

Edit: This is not to complain but just to report that there might be some problems with some hardware or MCU versions. Perhaps i simply don't have the skills and knowledges needed to make such a System run.

I have all respect and thank for People who work hard and share the result of this work with others and nothing is perfect, specially not in the first weeks.

I already posted my problems with the unit after installing this rom. But now it is just not usable. The touchscreen has stopped responding until i installed original 4.4.4 rom.

I can't say the difference between RQ0264 and your RQ0276 from Pumpkin - for me they look very similar except the front panel. Both are selled with Android 5.1 from Pumpkin - from this point of view the Malaysk ROM should work too.

Was there originally Android 5.1 on your device or only Android KitKat? Because I saw other discussions about Joying units (similar to Pumpkin) that an upgrade from a unit with Android 4.4 to Android 5.1 is not possible because of some hardware reasons.

Hi, the device was delivered from Pumkin with 5.1.1 running stable.
Due to a misunderstanding in Audio output (no navigation speech during active FM tuner), i got a new MCU from Pumpkin wich bricked the unit. In the following, i had some different MCUs and now i'm back to the original delivered MTSS-KLD6.V2.91.

As firmware i had, after the original 5.1.1, the Malaysk 5.1.1 running about stable but a bit lagging, then Malaysk 4.4.4 wich was smoother and more stable for me, than again 5.1.1. with the reboot hangups as described and some lags and finally Malaysk 4.4.4 wich runs best for me, as it seems really stable and offers everything i need combined with a smooth and lagfree response.

After each update i wiped cache .... - often twice. The only thing i kept was the settings in "factory settings" as tuner type, Bluetooth chipset, bootlogo.......

Perhaps interesting for some cases: Sygic Navigation normally brings the speech anouncements on both front channels. But when the FM tuner is active, speech from Sygic only is sent to front left channel. As at this period, i had only one speaker connected, there was the misunderstanding wich caused the new (older) MCU..........
